Cake update - Victoria sponge cake, it was totally worth it. Thanks for the support Wink

Maternity exemption card is totally worth it. Free prescriptions and dental care throughout pregnancy and for a short while after.

bikingintherain · 29/02/2016 20:47

jelly!!! How could you come on here and tell me about the amazing cake you had when all I could do was find a mini packet of skittles! I suppose I can find it in my heart to be happy for you. will definitely get some tomorrow or I might start becoming bitter

1Sunnydays · 29/02/2016 22:13

I was planning to cautious. Baby will be 13 days overdue by then so a fair bet that she'll be here (I hope!). It's also DH birthday the day before Father's Day this year. I was planning to order FD and bday presents in May once on mat leave then I'll know they're in the house ready.

That light is lovely Spock.

laughingGnomette · 29/02/2016 22:17

Cake is medicinal!!

1Sunnydays · 29/02/2016 22:19

Sorry to hear that Clarish. I was at the physio again today for my PGP so fully sympathise. What the other girl is doing has no relevance to when you're finishing, I'm not sure why people feel the need to comment on these things.

BiffleRoo · 29/02/2016 23:49

I will be getting DH the same Father's Day gift I got him when I was expecting DS 2 years ago. It is a handprint kit from not on the high street so he can have the same tattoo done for Floss as he has for DS.

I'm going to have to be super organised this year. We have our godson's birthday mid-May, followed by DH's on the 6th June, father's day, then DS's birthday at the end of June. Baby is due 1st June, so really need to get everything sorted by the middle of May in case he makes an early appearance!

On a different note, I had to get DH to rescue me out of bed this morning because I got stuck Blush Very glad a friend is giving me a lift to toddler group today!

iamdivergent · 01/03/2016 07:34

biffle I love your ds name

bikingintherain · 01/03/2016 09:12

I'd DD had been a boy she would have been Reuben. I concur, great name!

When does your DH get home biffle?

Belleboo23 · 01/03/2016 09:22

Hit the 24 week mark today! Apparently this little girl is the size of a g.i Joe which made me chuckle!!
Got a set of second hand mamas and papas nursery drawers for £30 they look immaculate so been filling with things we and others have been buying. Nice to have a place to keep it all.
Does anyone else get a stitch when just walking, I walk everywhere and I'm quite quick maybe it's my bodies way of saying to slow down!

iamdivergent · 01/03/2016 10:12

Yes belle I've had to slow down my pace or I was constantly getting a stitch or pains in the tops of my legs.

Was kept aware last night by some braxton hicks - always seems to happen after we dtd now!

cautiousoptimist1 · 01/03/2016 10:20

I'm not sure if anyone here is planning to formula feed (I'm undecided) but if so Asda direct currently has the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Essentials kit half price at £70.

Belleboo23 · 01/03/2016 10:41

I've still got a pain in my top right groin area thinking probably spd, i keep getting it on and off in my pelvis/hips aswell

strawberrypenguin · 01/03/2016 13:03

Yep belle I've had to slow down when walking or I get a stitch in the side/top of bump. DH talks me I've got a good waddle now!

strawberrypenguin · 01/03/2016 13:05

If anyone is looking for a car seat I found and ordered this one from mothercare last night. It looks good and I don't think there will be one much cheaper anywhere else

laughingGnomette · 01/03/2016 14:21

belle - yes, I get a stitch in the bottom or top of my bump if I walk too quickly. I might give bump bands a try and see if they help support the weight.

BiffleRoo · 01/03/2016 15:02

Thank you divergent and biking. He is home next Thursday providing there are no problems. I can't wait!!

Violet88 · 01/03/2016 16:17

Can anyone explain centiles to me please? Had my 25 week midwife appointment today, and she measured baby for the first time. She said he was in the 90th centile, and showed me on the graph. I didn't really understand what that meant though, other than he's quite near the top of the healthy range - is that right?

mrsmugoo · 01/03/2016 16:27

The 90th centile means he's in the top 10%

Violet88 · 01/03/2016 19:05

Does that predict the weight at birth or is it too early yet to tell?

iamdivergent · 01/03/2016 19:22

Imho no one can predict birth weight. They told me dd1 would be around 8lb - she was under 7; and that dd2 would be around 7 - she was over 8! The only way to tell is getting them on the scales at birth

jellybelly85 · 01/03/2016 19:54

strawberrypenguin and other achy-rib sufferers / bra hunters, I have found these to be very comfy and also double up as nursing bras for when the time comes...! www.amazon.co.uk/Bravado-Body-Silk-Seamless-Lingerie/dp/B00YQ3AFUW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456861978&sr=8-1&keywords=maternity+bra+bravado

strawberrypenguin · 01/03/2016 20:24

Thanks jelly I'll take a look. Don't remember being so achy first time round. I must be getting old!

earlgreydrinker · 01/03/2016 21:01

Laid up with a stinking cold and a sprained ankle Sad but this has given me a chance to catch up!

I've been thinking of treating myself to a new change bag - I just used the one that came with our pram last time which was fab but 3 years on it looks a bit sad. Anyone got any recommendations?

GenevaJoey · 01/03/2016 21:16

I got a couple of bump bands the other week from JoJoMaman Bebe. They're comfy and I do think they help with the stitches. Like wearing a belly bra. :)
