Wishing you strength Grumpel, so very sorry x

Another coffee fiend who has gone right off it...I really miss it even though the smell of it makes me gag!

MyBreadIsEggy · 06/03/2016 16:03

I'm eating EVERYTHING.....which is amazing compared to my last pregnancy where I wouldn't eat anything without puking up!
I think I will be switichig to decaf coffee, but cannot bear decaf tea! Tried it when I was pregnant with DD and it tasted like fish Confused

JulietteL · 06/03/2016 16:17

I'm missing caffeine more than alcohol.

I read that the limit per day is either a) one proper espresso coffee, b) two instant coffees or c) three teas. I can't stand instant so I switched to decaf proper coffee and stuck to my trusty earl grey. But then I went off coffee entirely and have switched to hot chocolate in the morning.

I keep forgetting to count chocolate in the total though. Arggh.

climbingcheesecake · 06/03/2016 16:39

Weird Eggy I totally agree about decaf tea tasting like fish, but have said it to other people and they look at me strangely.

I think I might get some decaf coffee, other than that I am drinking loads of redbush.

TeaGirl3 · 06/03/2016 16:42

Luckily I'm still drinking two cups of tea a day, with the first one having sugar to help reduce nausea. As my name suggests, I love my tea so hopefully this will continue!

I'm only 7 weeks but I now have to tell my boss tomorrow. We wanted to wait until after my scan but I've just been booked to go onto a conflict training course in two weeks time, which includes light physical exercises, breakaway techniques and positions... I've spoken to a family member who is a police officer and recommended I tell my boss, even though it won't be quite the same course she does. Has anyone else told their employer yet? Been getting advice from articles today, but obviously I won't know much yet until the scan and my first midwife appointment.

bananafish81 · 06/03/2016 16:50

I'm not drinking caffeine either, gave it up about 8 months ago, when we started fertility treatment. Wasn't a tea or coffee drinker anyway, but I did love my diet coke!

I gave up booze around the same time, so if this one goes the distance and lasts the full 9 months, plus breastfeeding, means I'll hopefully be a really cheap date when I have a drink for the first time in about 2 years!!! Confused

Afreshstartplease · 06/03/2016 16:51

I am expecting to be absolutely ginormous with this pregnancy it being number 4 and all

I've been bigger with each one and each baby has been 5-6 oz heavier than the last

I hate over the bump stuff I find it so uncomfortable

Last time I generally went up two sizes in normal leggings and wore them under bump but I did need proper maternity tops

With first two pregnancies I wore low cut jeans in my normal size but last time bump was much lower from the start, I think will be the same this time as I have a couple of pairs of jeggings that are low cut and I have to open the button to be comfy

BigPigLittlePig · 06/03/2016 16:55

Teagirl I will have to tell my employers - I did a night shift on Monday and had to call in sick for the rest of the week, I would have been completely unsafe, not to mention horribly pukey. I work in a hospital so have to have v early risk assessments as not allowed to have contact with certain patients. Not wildly keen on telling work before family, but until the 12w scan, it's on a need to know basis only!

MsFiremanSam · 06/03/2016 17:10

Had to tell my boss because I was so sick and needed to be able to leave lessons to throw up. She doesn't have kids and her reaction was 'oohhhhh, ok. Well I'm rubbish with baby things'. !!

pod100 · 06/03/2016 17:16

I'm only telling my boss after the 12 week scan if I can get away with it. She declared a few days ago (when talking about a more junior colleague returning from ML) that we "can't have people in this team who need to leave to pick up kids, it won't work if we have an urgent situation" (my job isn't the type where you can generally leave at 5 on the dot and we do often need to just stay to get things done, but even so, she's got no idea what she has just said!!)

MyBreadIsEggy · 06/03/2016 17:44

Fuuuuuck banana!! Im going to sound really dim..... But I totally forgot about caffeine in Diet Coke Blush I've been drinking loads of it Confused

SimileMilly · 06/03/2016 18:43

I told my boss around 5 weeks after he joked about 'coming to work hungover'. I did look rough. He's a good friend though and was very supportive during MC so it felt fine to say. We've told quite a few people this time, mainly because a lot have guessed. No one in my team at work knows though.

pod100 · 06/03/2016 18:56

Think I have had my first experience of "the hormones" today. I've been in an odd mood all day, can't be bothered to do anything and getting myself worked up as a result. Been sitting on settee crying for no reason at all Sad

athousandsplendidsuns · 06/03/2016 19:14

I think to think of it as crying for a very good reason (I.e. my body is trying to build a whole new person from scratch and it's hard!) pod.

athousandsplendidsuns · 06/03/2016 19:15

PS really hating the nausea and exhaustion here today :(

Figgygal · 06/03/2016 19:29

I have thrush it is itchy and horrid Sad

LillianFullStop · 06/03/2016 20:32

Watching the food channel made me feel sick I think dinner is out of the question tonight - I wish I had bread to make toast!

JulietteL · 06/03/2016 20:44

Figgy sympathies on the thrush. So irritating. I actually had it when I conceived: as I knew I was about to ovulate I didn't want to mess anything up by treating it; and then when I realised I was pregnant I put off treating it until my Doctor reassured me it's fine to use pessaries while preggo.

Figgygal · 06/03/2016 20:54

Juliette I was put on antibiotics Wednesday as at mw appt wee sample showed I had a urine infection so need to go back Tuesday to check it's cleared can't believe I have this now too.

JulietteL · 06/03/2016 21:04

Ah, the old UTI-antibiotics-thrush cycle. I know it well, sadly! Hope it all clears up soon.

Blueskygirl30 · 06/03/2016 21:19

Teagirl I had to tell my employer pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant as I work for an airline and legally had to stop flying straight away. I've had to tell my manager the past couple of times I've had losses too. It sucked telling work first but I'd much rather do that than do something that might put the baby at risk, like working a very long night shift on a crazy body clock.

Tomkat79 · 06/03/2016 21:32

Is anyone else short of breath? The only way I seem to get a proper lung full is through a yawn and plenty of that going on today!
I'm slightly mourning the loss of 'me' which I know sounds ridiculous! I think my hormones only levelled out about 6 months ago after breastfeeding DD for a year and I just starting to feel like me! Now I'm a hormonal walking mood swing again and I'm totally unable to get my shit together Confused

pod100 · 07/03/2016 07:37

I'm 6+6 today and had a pinky coloured discharge when I woke up. Could this be an implantation bleed or something else??? No cramping or anything, but I'm obviously feeling quite anxious now...

pod100 · 07/03/2016 07:42

Sorry, I didn't mean implantation, I meant the placenta starting to develop. I would describe it as a pinky orangey colour

MyBreadIsEggy · 07/03/2016 07:50

pod when I was pregnant with DD, I had a similar thing. I had an early scan at the EPU, and they couldn't find any definitive reason for it, and DD was just fine. Mine was just as you described, a pinky, orangey discharge, but it never turned into fresh red blood. Keep an eye on it, and if you're really worried, ring your MW or GP Smile
