Great news Lisa and Evs

Clank that is awful! I am so annoyed for you. Definitely chase it up because certainly for my last pregnancy it used to be the case that your midwife referred you for your scan and your bloods to be taken at a certain time.

Paige84 · 05/03/2016 13:23

One day short of 9 weeks.... Anyone else think this is the longest 3 months ever?!! Had my 3rd scan yesterday and while the terror of bleeding constantly never stops, it has been lovely seeing the growth over the last 3 weeks. Looks like a real person in there now (teeny tiny, but very real!)
I'm with everyone on the nausea and exhaustion, have just made the effort to go to the supermarket for supplies as I'm making a big Mother's Day meal for my mum, gran, sis and family tomorrow (12 to cater for....) should be interesting as at the moment even the smell of toast makes me want to hurl!! Hope everyone else is having a pleasant Saturday :)

wetsnow · 05/03/2016 16:39

So sorry I've been Mia from the thread. Had a tough week do being ill then had somr bleeding but had a scan on Thursday and all looked fine.

Welcome to all the newbies!

So so sorry grumple

Lovely news lisa and evs

athousandsplendidsuns · 05/03/2016 19:38

Hi all, can I join please? 7 weeks 3 days with #2, due 20th Oct if all goes well. (Ds 1 will be 3 on 23rd Oct). Hideously tired and all day nausea unless I stuff my face (which funnily I don't feel like doing!). Hurrah for all the good news, sorry for those with not such good news. And yes Paige, longest 3 months ever, though I'd forgotten mostly about last time and those around me say I was just this bad, so it must fade into memory when you're not counting the days (doesn't help much now though).

Sockmonster17 · 05/03/2016 20:03

So sorry grumple Flowers

mermaid I'm afraid that was me with the retching last pregnancy. You have my sympathies. Actually have a slight phobia of being sick and it was horrible not knowing whether it was actually going to happen or not. Although it got to the point where in some way it would have been nice to have got a bit of relief from it. Hope it passes soon for you.

Starting to really wish that I had an early scan now reading all these posts. Had one last time as was unsure of dates. Would be so reassuring. Also worried my dates will be pushed bk and not as far gone as hoping. My cycles are usually 35 days but obviously midwife has just gone from LMP. According to her I'm 10+3. 2 weeks till the scan.... It's so going to drag!

Hope everyone's pregnancy ailments will soon pass!

itsallgoodfun · 05/03/2016 20:12

So sorry for the bad news grumble Thanks

For anyone still wanting to join the fb group give me a message and I'll sort it X

BigPigLittlePig · 05/03/2016 20:41

Sockmonster I have ishoos with vom. That was my single biggest worry about labour the first time round - pain I can cope with, but vom, not so much Envy God bless anti-emetics.

Am still waiting a date for scan here, bit had my booking in appt quite early at 7+3 (think I was closer to 10w last time). Slightly in limbo waiting though as it will almost certain fall in Easter hols when I have time off, and lots of family wanting to visit etc. Keep fobbing them off until we get the date!

climbingcheesecake · 06/03/2016 08:12

grumple I don't know if you are still checking in, but so sorry to hear your news. Flowers

I still have 2.5 weeks before my scan, really nervous about it. How did you ladies cope with your first scan?

Also, is anyone still drinking tea/coffee.. I have restricted myself to one cup a day at the moment. I love tea so much.

bananafish81 · 06/03/2016 08:35

grumpel I am sending you all the love and strength in the world. It is so cruel and so unfair to go through years of infertility and the emotional, physical and financial rollercoaster of IVF to think you have finally got everything you dreamed of and for it to be cruelly taken away. My heart is aching for you and hope you and DH can be kind to yourselves. And I know that when you do one day have your baby in your arms, he or she will know just how very very deeply wanted they were and are, and how very hard their parents fought to bring them into this world

To anyone else on here who is pregnant after infertility, I started a thread which now has lots of us who've been through hell and back to get pregnant, please do come and join as there are some wonderful women who really truly do get it.

AFM we had another scan yesterday, 8+5, and saw a beautiful little jelly bean, who's doubled in size since the first scan at 7+1 and looks distinctly less like a prawn and more baby shaped. They even emailed us little videos and I can't stop listening to the sound of its little heartbeat over and over again. I can't believe the little ball of cells we saw on screen as a 5 day embryo has a head and limb stumps and stonking heartbeat.

Mother's day has been hideous the last few years as it's a painful reminder that my Mum died far too early and of my own infertility. This year I actually have hope that maybe I will be a Mum too one day. 9 weeks tomorrow, can't let myself believe this might actually go the distance and become our baby.....

pod100 · 06/03/2016 08:55

Hi climbingcheesecake - yes, I'm still drinking coffee. I normally only have one, sometimes two, cups a day at work, although have a little more at weekends. I tried decaf one day last week and it tasted awful.

MrsMermaid · 06/03/2016 09:27

Thanks for the camaraderie sock! I think maybe it was a tiny bit better yesterday so I have high hopes for today...

I am still drinking up to two cups a day but only one if from a coffee shop. Totally cursing myself if I have an instant in the morning and then find myself having to turn down a 'proper' coffee later!

Recently I have become obsessed with all things sugary and have been racing through haribo tangfastics like they're going out of fashion. Actually when I went for my scan the sonographer asked if I had been eating sugary things as the baby was awake and had lifted its head which makes measuring easier. She asked me to do the same before my next scan... So bring on the penny sweets before your scans girls!

leoniethelioness · 06/03/2016 09:55

I've also become addicted to sugar. It's the only way I can drink a cup of tea now!

Grumpelstiltskin · 06/03/2016 10:05

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone in this thread, before it fills up, for all your lovely messages at what is obviously an immensely shit time for me when you all have your own stuff going on too. MN is wonderful. I'll be off now but take care all and enjoy your pregnancies. Xx

BigPigLittlePig · 06/03/2016 10:17

Grumple

No coffee here, am a total coffee fiend normally, but in both my pregnancies it's one of the first things I've gone off. I've "given up caffeine for lent," for those who are curious Grin Harder to disguise the gagging when I smell it though.

Mermaid it's funny you should say that - at my 12w scan last time, BabyPig was asleep and they couldn't get the measurements they needed. After making me dance around the room, she was still asleep, so they plied me with Maryland cookies and told me to come back in a bit. She was a bit livelier then!

LillianFullStop · 06/03/2016 10:25

All the best for you grumple take care

I'm a proper coffee fiend myself and have cut down to 1 a day - it's hard to say no to those offers of afternoon coffees in the office but luckily I started cutting down to 1 since January as a resolution and a male colleague is doing the same so it doesnt seem so odd for me to do!

Good tip mermaid I'll bring a snack to my 12w scan in 4 weeks

Esjaye · 06/03/2016 11:15

Personally I lived on red bull so having to cut that and cigarettes straight out was hard work but very proud of myself for doing it just hoping and praying now that I see something on the screen on Tuesday to make it all worth while

Beth2511 · 06/03/2016 12:07

Hi all canni join. Due 21st october.

Got an epau appointment either tues or weds, date to be confirmed tomorrow. Due to history of losses.

Have 15 month old DD already :)

So hiya!

Blueskygirl30 · 06/03/2016 12:17

I'm so sorry Gumple, that is so so shit.

Hi to all the people who have joined the thread in the last few days.

I'm struggling to keep up with the thread but still here and just caught up with several days of messages! 9+1 today, still not really much in the way of nausea but trying not to worry about it!!

leoniethelioness · 06/03/2016 12:26

Nice to hear from you, grumpel. Please look after yourself and be kind to yourself at this awful time.

Welcome to all the new posters as well.

Today I'm 10w4d and have started looking for maternity wear on eBay. Any brand recommendations from the mums on this thread? I want to buy some nice things (new) for work that can grow with me plus some cheap bits off eBay. Most of my clothes still fit fine but have retired a couple of my work dresses as they are too fitted to wear now!

climbingcheesecake · 06/03/2016 13:11

glad I am not the only one still drinking caffeinated drinks.. ..and also craving sour sweets - I hardly ever eat sweets and had to buy a bag of fizzy colas the other day.

Esjaye · 06/03/2016 13:22

Due to sugar and pasta cravings am doing mega cooking spree today - macaroni cheese with spinach and cauliflower, mars bar cakes and hazelnut chocolate cheesecake :-)

Figgygal · 06/03/2016 15:02

I was obsessed with marshmallows with ds at the moment I'm totally into liquorice. I've had a caffeine overload today dr pepper and slab of dark chocolate as a treat. Now cleaning the bathroom as punishment

Afreshstartplease · 06/03/2016 15:47

I really don't fancy much food wise ATM

I keep putting off eating and then this makes me feel sick and then I end up eating biscuits

Afreshstartplease · 06/03/2016 15:48

RE caffeine

I've switched to decaf tea, stopped energy drinks and don't like coffee anyway. Having odd glass of coke

BigPigLittlePig · 06/03/2016 15:54

Leonie apparently Asda do some good basic bits of maternity wear. I got away with about 3 items last time as had a small bump and dd was born at 35 weeks, but quite liked New Look for some nice dressy bits. I shed a tear when I had to put my maternity jeans away as they were so comfy.
