Good luck Southy! So exciting!!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 19:53

I currently stand at TWENTY kilos gained, eek!!! FFS! Anyway none of that will matter soon, exciting times Southy we await your updates!!

29redshoes · 25/04/2016 19:53

How exciting, hope all goes well southy.

frozensmoothie · 25/04/2016 20:24

So exciting that there'll soon been a baby Southy! Grin good luck with the induction and hope it all goes well!

I've put on just over 2 stone, planning on doing a lot of walking when baby is here to try and get my fitness back and hopefully be able to fit back into pre-pregnancy clothes. Ideally I don't want to have to get rid of my entire wardrobe!

GunShotResidue · 25/04/2016 20:46

Good luck southy! So exciting!

I've put on a lot. And didn't really lose all the weight after DD Blush I'm hoping as this is likely to be my last I'll have motivation to lose it all. Also have two weddings this year and at least one next!

ODog · 25/04/2016 21:29

Good luck southy. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Congrats on starting mat leave 29.

I have no idea how much I have gained as our scales have run out of batteries but I'm sure it's less than last time. I put on 3st with DS and lost it all plus another stone within 6months (thank you BF!) so I'm not worried. Buggy fit and mum and baby exercise classes were a great help. I'm sure we will all snap back as I eat toast and drink hot chocolate

Southy84 · 26/04/2016 00:25

Don't worry cant I started worrying then thought sod it I'm growing a baby and not much I can do if my body is hungry/wants to store every ounce of weight... I'm hoping I will be able to do lots of walking too frozen

Thanks 29 and odog :)

Ive now had my prostin tablet, slightly later than hoped because they thought I was contracting well by myself- then the contractions decided to stop (so frustrating). Got twenty minutes left before I can get up and walk about. Dh is asleep in the chair next to me, wish I could sleep Hmm glad he's resting though as I kept him awake all of last night with my snoring!! Bless him

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 26/04/2016 06:43

Hands up who jumped on here early to check for updates from Southy? Wink no pressure love, but hope your night was ok!!

29redshoes · 26/04/2016 06:51

cant ummm yep...that would be me! Hope all has gone well so far southy

It's a bit of a reality check for me actually, I was sort of in denial that people do really go into labour at 37 weeks. I thought the midwife just said that to make sure you packed your hospital bag Smile

Icecappedpinetrees · 26/04/2016 06:58

Yes I thought of you Southy through the night! Hope you're all ok.

I was awake from midnight when DS came through. He is so noisy and so wriggly. But how could we do anything else when he says that his rabbit is scared of his bed, very scary.

I have midwife today (38+1) and I'm just so anxious about what I'll measure. Plus inlaws are watching DS and that always ends poorly for him and ultimately me. They load him with chocolate then act all indignant and surprised if he displays any type of normal toddler behaviour.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 26/04/2016 07:16

29 my first freakout came a week ago when the first of my NCT group had her baby! (Mind you, they are all due before me, so she was only 8 days early!). The second baby came yesterday - on or maybe a day after the due date, so I'm not falling for this "first babies are always late" thing! (Just watch me regret saying this when I go overdue and lose my mind.....)
Ice hope the appointment goes well today! Mine was such a disappointment yesterday, not sure what I was expecting TBH! Sorry about your bad night too, mine was weird but I have nobody to blame but myself and my strange dreams!

We'll just talk amongst ourselves while we wait for Southy Wink

29redshoes · 26/04/2016 08:05

cant have you seen this website for working out your chances of giving birth on a particular day?

whentoexpect.com

I discovered it at the weekend and have been checking it a bit obsessively ever since.

ice we have the same due date! I also have m/w today. Hope your appointment goes well.

armyofthree · 26/04/2016 08:06

Southy wishing you all the best and yes jumped on here first thing to check on progress.

Next I checked the news and the doctor's strike is going ahead (in England) so please ladies keep those legs crossed today.

How exciting first May baby on its way the rest will follow. Smile

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 26/04/2016 08:20

wow thanks for that 29! Apparently my odds of having my baby today are less than 1% but from tomorrow are 5% each day!! Fascinating stuff!
Ok I'm going to attempt to adult a bit better today, and spend less time reading about relationship breakdowns on MN on the laptop and more time doing something more interesting...I seem to not be great at "resting" and instead seem to spend my time doing the kind of stuff that makes me want to scrub my brain out afterwards (i.e. waaaaaay too much screen time) - hoping today will be better!!

Icecappedpinetrees · 26/04/2016 08:28

29 Smile race you to the ward Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 26/04/2016 08:34

Hope all's going well, southy.

SPD has ramped it up a notch so I think the baby has dropped a bit. 36 weeks today so it's quite early for a third baby.

MW called yesterday and has arrranged an appointment for this week instead of next so we can go over everything I need for the home birth.

Southy84 · 26/04/2016 08:52

Morning everyone, i had the syntocin drip started at 6am and the contractions are properly ramping up now!!!! Ouch is a understatement. I honestly never expected waters to break this early so definitely get bags packed if you haven't. My mw just came in and said there are loads of doctors here today (the most she's ever seen) which is reassuring with the strikes being today. My preeclampsia levels have increased so think they are pleased things are getting going now.

What is everyone up to today?

Icecappedpinetrees · 26/04/2016 09:27

It won't be long Southy!!! Keep going! Yes ouch ouch with induction but every contraction is one you'll never have again, every contraction is one closer to being finished. You can do it! then post pics Grin

Pikz · 26/04/2016 09:27

Good luck Southy :)

I am struggling today. Want this baby out now, I feel sick and very tired and the toddler had a monumental melt down trying to get him into nursery.

Can't I feel like I should do something useful today too especially as I have no toddler but I can't summon the energy!

Icecappedpinetrees · 26/04/2016 10:08

Oh no Pikz, get your feet up til you get your toddler back from nursery. Take the chance to actually stop and sit down. My toddler just put on his wellies over his pyjamas and tried to cycle out the house as I answered the door to the postman. Wish he was that quick to put in his shoes any other time

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 26/04/2016 10:37

Yes Pikz get your feet up, that's an order!! It's funny, the midwife said yesterday that first time mums always want to delay having a sweep to get things kicked off whereas 2nd timers are begging to get the baby out! I definitely (DEFINITELY!) am not in a rush, quite the opposite in fact! Am thinking about doing more gloss-painting of the bedroom skirting boards but am currently watching Jane the virgin.... Hmm

Everythinggettingbigger · 26/04/2016 12:13

Do we have a baby Southy??

I have been following slimming world and still managed to put nearly 2stone on....4 weeks to go I'm sure that will push over 2st! Well I say following.....very loosely!

Having a totally roller coaster of emotions kind of day! I was OK until the Hillsborough verdicts come out and now I'm a mess! Got DSS grandad here doing some DIY too, he keeps asking me if I'm OK which is making me cry more 🙈

Everythinggettingbigger · 26/04/2016 12:17

My bloody phone didn't show me this last page when I commented so didn't see your updates Southy!! Ahhhh so exciting good luck any time now!! Eagerly awaiting news!

GrouchyKiwi · 26/04/2016 13:04

Hope you've managed to get some rest, Pikz.

I can hardly walk today. Even just around the house is nearly impossible. And I decided to do some baking with the children, but for some stupid reason didn't grease the tins so the little cupcakes etc didn't want to come out. I now have a lovely bag of chocolate cake crumb things for making a trifle when my Mum gets here in a couple of weeks.

Will be sitting with my feet up for the rest of the day. DH thinks he can come home early so I really hope that's the case.
