Here's the next thread!

parsnip I don't blame you at all!! I have definitely had days of just zonking out - but then I seem to follow them with overdoing it and then have to have a few days doing nothing again, it's a bit of a vicious circle and would be better to try and find some kind of balance! Also is very much sleep-dependent...even without a toddler/cat bringing gifts there is plenty of nocturnal activity definitely not the exciting kind - mostly when I wake up at 4am and can't breathe through my nose - how can it happen the same every night??!!
We are finishing painting the 2nd bedroom today although still need to do the gloss (I can't quite call it the baby's room!!) - although I have had lots of breaks! DP finishing the high-up edges off now (the ones I couldn't do because of needing to be in the ladder!) while I lay on the sofa and watch my belly doing acrobatics!

Icecappedpinetrees · 24/04/2016 16:34

Can't - Pretty soon though that kind of nocturnal activity along with pineapple, curry and walking half-up-half-down pavements might be called for!

Oh no about the bird - sleep at this stage of pregnancy is so elusive.

Hey ho, back to making my sticker incentive chart to encourage DS to stay in bed at bedtime - that'll work right?!? Positive parenting for a 2.3 yo. He'll just stay in bed and drift off to sleep.......

ODog · 25/04/2016 12:32

Hope everyone had a good nights sleep last night. DS woke a few times and ended up in with us from 3am but everyone sleep soundly in between and he didn't wake up until 6.50am so I got a lay in! Woohoo!

Got GBS results back today and it's all clear so that's a relief.

DS now asleep after a busy morning at toddler grp so I'm enjoying the rest and avoiding housework

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 12:49

Good news all round ODog!! How was everyone else's night? I am now just spectacularly uncomfortable no matter what I do so am waking up loads, but luckily wasn't awake for hours on end.
Had my 38 week midwife appointment this morning and I was feeling excited about it (?) but it was quite uneventful, baby is low but still had a way to go she says. So I have my next appointment made for 40 weeks plus 4 days at which point she would probably do a first sweep, but let's see what happens...
Am really struggling to walk so am spending this afternoon on the sofa...but DP just declared that he might come home mid afternoon to be with me which is very sweet and all....but all I want to do is lounge around eating doughnuts

GrouchyKiwi · 25/04/2016 13:33

Great stuff re your DS sleeping ok, ODog, and excellent re the clear GBS results.

Sleep is tough at the moment. It's very difficult for me to turn over, which apparently I like to do a lot when I'm pregnant, so I always wake myself huffing and puffing and sometimes crying with the pain. 4 more weeks...

MIL is giving me the rage today. She keeps sending through info about events for the children that I can't take them to because I can't bloody walk. I get that she didn't have SPD during her pregnancies but she was a freaking Dr. You'd think she could work out the concept of a person being unable to lead their normal lives because of pain & weakness.

DH was extra helpful this morning so he is in my good books. I bought him a selection of craft ales to apologise for my crappy mood of late.

Everyone seems happier today Grin that's good!

Thought I was going to go into labour last night, really bad backache across the bottom of my back and down my bum which resulted in quite a few painful tightenings.....but then I fell asleep so obviously wasn't the start lol 36 weeks tomorrow so still rather early! Had my 36 app today though and baby isn't even engaged he's head down but slightly off centre so hitting my pelvis.....currently bouncing on a ball to encourage him!

Also said he feels slightly on the small side so to go home and eat cake Cake who am I to argue with her Grin

Everythinggettingbigger · 25/04/2016 13:36

Any good ideas as a little present for 5yo DS off the baby when he's born? Anyone else doing this? I'm thinking a teddy of one of his favourite characters so it's something he can keep too

GrouchyKiwi · 25/04/2016 13:41

A teddy is a cute idea. MIL got DD1 a book called The New Small Person when DD2 was born, which is a great story.

We're not getting gifts for the children from the baby. They're both used to sharing us already. Wink We are getting the baby gifts from the children, though, because I think that will help them feel more involved. I've ordered a little soft book for the pram and a teddy bear rattle.

We got DS a ITNG rucksack that he can keep his juice/random toddler crap in when we go out so I don't have to lug about his and the baby's stuff and filled it with a peppa toy and a couple of books including one about being a big brother. Hoping that it will soften the blow a bit!

GrouchyKiwi · 25/04/2016 13:50

Just had a HOLY CRAP, the baby is going to be here in a month! moment. Must be even crazier for those of you due next week!

I cannot wait for newborn cuddles.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 14:20

Grouchy I apparently LOVE to turn over too - was so difficult and painful last night I could have cried too! I think I have effed up my pelvis since Friday walking too fast/far when me DSis came to visit as I'm in a world of pain again now and mostly shuffling around...
Meanwhile one of my biggest problems today is that I bought a tube of salt and vinegar Pringles and now my tongue feels all weird....
And just got news that the 2nd baby from my NCT group arrived yesterday! That's 2 down 3 to go!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 14:21

Oh and I JUST finished watching the first season of Jane and the Virgin in Netflix (and cried...) so it's a big news day around here! Hmm

GunShotResidue · 25/04/2016 14:37

After weeks of doing nothing I felt really great yesterday and did loads, followed by a nice bath. Then I tried to get out the bath and realised that my hips had completely forgotten how to work. I'm now useless and in pain. Still need to get a bit done today as MIL is coming to stay tomorrow with our nephews. Hoping DH gets home early and I can delegate.

Southy84 · 25/04/2016 14:49

Hi everyone, I started typing a message this morning saying apologies for going awol, had a hard time with high bp and got diagnosed with pre-eclampsia yesterday and given an induction date of next sat. I'm 37 weeks today and merrily bouncing on my gym ball this morning when I felt a pop type sensation, got to the toilet just as my waters went! So looks like baby will be making an appearance quite soon. I'm literally so nervous!! Started mat leave last Monday but was supposed to start today. Still not finished nesting!! Hope everyone is ok, can't believe we're all so nearly there now!

GrouchyKiwi · 25/04/2016 14:57

So exciting, Southy! And great that you (probably) won't need to be induced.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 14:59

Southy have been wondering how you were doing - how exciting!! Keep us posted (if you feel like it!)

Pikz · 25/04/2016 15:46

Wow Southy how exciting!

I just want this baby out now... Apparently he is fully engaged I just don't want to go past Sunday!

Everythinggettingbigger · 25/04/2016 16:07

Wow Southy looks like the first May baby will arrive in April!!

Pikz is Sunday your due date?

That's a good idea I might get DS something small he can give to the baby too!

Nicky333 · 25/04/2016 16:17

Ooooh, how exciting, Southy!!

In my app, baby is the size of a Chihuahua today so DH said he's going ask our neighbour next door, who has one, if he could hold their dog for two hours, see what I'm whinging about Grin. I said that we'd weigh the dog first and then add something else to make it up to the two stones I've put on Wink

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 25/04/2016 16:21

Nicky hahahaaha!!!! The app size comparisons to animals started freaking me out so I have to try not to look at them now...DP was trying to get me to tell him how much weight I have gained yesterday but there is no way I'm telling him! It's tons FFS (almost literally!) but I like to think that's because I was fit as a butchers dog before pregnancy, obvs...or it might be all the cake and chocolate I've been secretly eating
Am attempting to gloss paint the skirting boards in the baby's room this afternoon, it's hardcore! Being on the floor is bad enough, to say nothing of the smell and slow progress...I might have to stop after only an hour and one corner finished!

Pikz · 25/04/2016 16:27

Everything yep I'm due on the first and I think frozen is too...

Nicky I have not told DH either how much I have gained... It's tons!

frozensmoothie · 25/04/2016 16:52

Exciting southy! Let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you!!

Yep I'm also due on Sunday. Baby wasn't engaged at all at 38 week appointment and I dont feel like there's any pressure to indicate she's started to engage simce, so have a feeling I'm going to go overdue. Got a sweep booked in 2 weeks if nothing happens between now and then. Really don't want to go too far overdue!

29redshoes · 25/04/2016 17:19

38 weeks today and FINALLY on maternity leave! Maybe I'll keep up with the thread a bit better now...

How exciting that the first baby is on its way! Good luck southy!

Got my 38 week appointment tomorrow. Hoping the baby might be engaged but don't think I've had any signs that she is. How would you usually know?

Nicky333 · 25/04/2016 17:24

I started off underweight and to be fair, apart from the cankles (which I usually only get after a marathon) and the bump, it's difficult to see where those two stones have gone to!

Southy84 · 25/04/2016 19:28

Thank you everyone :) so ive been examined and my waters have definitely gone (would be worried if they hadn't!) but cervix still long and closed so they are going ahead and starting to induce me tonight! Being admitted to labour ward now... Eek!

nicky your post literally made me lol! That's hilarious!!

Don't worry cant ive put on 16kilos... Blush was a 8/10 before and in maternity size 12 now. I hoping the weight falls off (hoping!)

Here's hoping for on time babies for everyone
