Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GunShotResidue · 17/04/2016 15:01

Hope you're feeling better today Everything

How much longer are they staying cant? Can you have lots of naps? Tell them you have low blood pressure or similar and lock yourself in your room all day!

DD woke at 2am in hysterics. In the end I bright her downstairs and put frozen on, and we both fell asleep on the sofa. I feel guilty that we haven't been able to do much recently, so we're driving to the park in a bit. DH and DD can use up all their energy and I can sit on a bench!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 17/04/2016 15:54

They arrived on Friday, here till Wednesday...

And we don't have a bedroom door! Or walls!!! Fucking open-plan stupid bachelor pad bought by DP is almost as annoying as his family
Just had a nap - DP woke me up to ask me for the 4th time if I want to go out with them all this afternoon. Not likely!! Confused

Pikz · 17/04/2016 16:01

Marking place to catch up. Can't believe I'm 38 weeks... Eeeeeeeek

Can't I don't know how you are putting up with that I would have lost it!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 17/04/2016 16:22

pikz I'm not sure if I am putting up with it to be honest - as some of you cam probably tell from my excessive use of MN Wink
I'm actually going a bit loopy because I'm not going out with them as I am using the pregnancy tiredness excuse - so I am not leaving the house at all which is making me bored and restless! Or maybe bored and restless is a normal way to be at this point in pregnancy...? Am going to get out of bed in a minute and try and think of somewhere in waddling distance that I can go to get a little bit of fresh air!

Icecappedpinetrees · 17/04/2016 16:36

Gunshot - my son woke in hysterics last night too - honestly, I think they coordinate it! He was screaming and sobbing into his little pillow (crying that the ice cream hadn't stopped - oh first world problems, eh). And snap with the park, we went to the big park this morning and daddy was on fireman pole and flying fox duty.

We are all so close now, only a few weeks...

ODog · 17/04/2016 20:44

How weird gunshot and ice...my DS woke up screaming at about 4am last night too. Luckily he calmed down after 5mins or so and slept until 7.15am which is basically the longest lay in ever.

Managed to clean the mattress and finishing washing and ironing all the baby clothes today. Also managed a bike ride to the pub and had a lovely non alcoholic beer in the sunny beer garden while DS played with some other kids. It was lovely but my hips ache a bit now. Also cycling over drains was a bit uncomfy on my poor vag!

Bet you can't wait for the inlaws to bugger off now cant. Defo get some fresh air though, it will make you feel much better. I always go stir crazy if I'm stuck indoors and I wonder why DS is climbing the walls by 7am every morning

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/04/2016 07:20

I should have apologised in advance for the fact I will be using MN (and the FB group!) as my place to vent for the duration of the inlaws visit...but DP has buggered off out this morning to go to yoga, making sure he fannyed about for an hour before he left, and then went and spoke to his sister, so now the fucking children are up and I'm stuck here alone with his family for 3 hours until he comes back feeling like I can't just stay in bed and read - not that I can do that in peace, thanks to the stupid open-plan - but also not wanting to go downstairs. Am livid!!
Hope all the DCs slept better last night and didn't have another coordinated crying attack?! I think I'm off to run a bath as at least I can actually close the bloody door on that room....

ParsnipSoup · 18/04/2016 12:30

Cant having your in laws over sounds horrible. Can you fake a midwife appointment and hide in a cafe with a book for 2 hours?

Very strange that loads of children woke up with nightmares on the same evening!

ODog I'm so impressed that you're still cycling! I'm not sure I could cycle far even when not pregnant.

Last 4 nightshifts starting tonight and then maternity leave... Woo hoo!! Going to book a nice hair cut for next week and make myself a little plan to give the house a good clean and sort the garden out.

katienana · 18/04/2016 13:52

Was it a full moon last night? I always think it sends kids loopy!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/04/2016 15:48

katienana I was wondering about the moon but happen to know it wasn't a full one this week because I'm weird like that

And parsnip I had a good excuse today! They all went off to see one of the big London sights and I had my first get-together with the NCT mums-to-be for lunch (apart from the one who had her baby 8 days early on Friday and freaked us all out!!) which was so lovely! Everyone is just as terrified and clueless as me and it just feels so nice to be able to talk about it IRL - feel so much better now! I was going to go and do some shopping afterwards (first time properly out of the house since Thursday!) but decided I might wear myself out so am having a hot chocolate before I head home instead (as the inlaws and DP are all back there already!). Two more dinners to go!!

GunShotResidue · 18/04/2016 15:52

How strange! DD made up for being a terror Saturday night by staying in her own bed 8-7 last night!

cant open plan sound like a nightmare! I hope the last few days go quickly!

Are there any babies due in the first week of May?

GunShotResidue · 18/04/2016 15:55

Just checked the stats and seen there are 5! Might be a few April birthdays!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/04/2016 16:13

Glad you had a better night gunshot! I'm due on 5th may but hoping NOT to have an April baby (for no reason other than I'm not bloody ready!)
Hiding in a cafe at the moment but I had better get home soon I suppose Wink

GrouchyKiwi · 18/04/2016 16:27

Hi everyone.

Passed my car theory test today after failing a month ago, and finally got my whooping cough jab, so it's been a Good Day!

SPD is still horrid, but I'm getting stuff done so things could be worse.

Hope your inlaws aren't driving you too mad, cant.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Home stretch now!

OP posts:
ODog · 18/04/2016 18:49

Congrats grouchy but sorry to hear the spd isn't great.

I'm due 6th may but DS was 10 days late so I'm expecting this one to be a later may baby.

Got such a busy week this week so hoping the next few weeks whizz by.

ParsnipSoup · 18/04/2016 19:01

Congratulations grouchy!

Glad you got out of the house for a bit today cant. Not too long until your home is your own again!!

Just had a massive 4hr pre-nightshift nap. Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for 4 relaxed shifts for me?! Very nervous that I'll have 4 nights where I won't even get to sit down!

So excited about the idea of everyone in the thread starting to have babies soon, but petrified about the idea of having mine!!

daisywhoopsie · 18/04/2016 19:10

Hope you don't mind me joining in!

36+1 today. Had to pop up to the hospital yesterday due to reduced movement. All was well and we found out baby is 3/5 engaged and I was having mild contractions! This has caused a massive panic as I'm no where near ready so have been running round (I say running, fast waddling really) all day buying baby bits.

Fingers crossed for relaxed night shifts for you, Parsnip and big congrats on passing your theory test Grouchy!

frozensmoothie · 18/04/2016 19:14

Sounds like a nightmare with the in laws cant. Keep counting down the days!!

Congratulations on your theory test grouchy

Fingers crossed that you get your 4 relaxed night shifts Parsnip the end is in sight!

I'm due on 1st May. Had my 38 week midwife appointment today. Baby is head down but not engaged yet. I don't feel like anything is imminent yet either so have a feeling I'm going to go overdue Confused

Pikz · 18/04/2016 20:50

Congrats grouchy!

Frozen I am sue the 1st too but am 3/5 engaged and had reflexology tonight to try and get things moving

Pikz · 18/04/2016 20:51

Daisy very exciting! We could have our first may baby soon!

GrouchyKiwi · 18/04/2016 21:07

Welcome daisy. Would you like it to continue or settle down?

Not to freak everyone out but this was on my Facebook just now and it's kind of interesting and kind of terrifying. Wink

ODog · 18/04/2016 21:08

Welcome daisy. Let's hope baby stays put a week at least so you are 'full term' if that makes a difference to your birth preferences.

Having lots of BH again tonight.

daisywhoopsie · 18/04/2016 21:25

Think things have already settled down as I'm far less uncomfortable today!

Great link, grouchy. This made me chuckle 'It’s perfectly reasonable not to spend every minute of your waking day wandering around thinking about your cervix.'

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 18/04/2016 21:35

Ooooh good link grouchy and congrats on the test! Am thinking about sticking evening primrose oil in my fanjo now - is this a terrible idea?? Am already eating dates and just started doing the perineal massage...unlikely I'll be using sex to get things moving if the past 8 months is anything to go by - not that I'm in a hurry for this baby to be born!!
And welcome daisy!! Wishing you a VERY easy night shift parsnip you're my hero...

Icecappedpinetrees · 19/04/2016 07:30

Checking in to say hello and good luck to parsnip, you're so nearly there, only a few shifts to go!!

Hi Daisy!

I'm similar to ODog - due 9th May but I'm bound to run late as DS was 14 days late and needed an eviction notice in the form of a skyrocket pessary, grim!

I'm 37 weeks - officially fully cooked!! I'm fully ready, nursery decorated, clothes washed and put away, car seat in car.

Sorry to hear about pgp/spd, it's awful, hope it eases.
