Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi everyone! Dropped off the radar for a few days due to this horrific toothache! Been back to the dentist today and got a low dosage antibiotics to hopefully keep any infection at bay until baby is born and they can do the root canal!

Daisy glad to hear everything is settling if you aren't ready yet!

cant last day with the in laws you can do this! Massive well done for putting up with house guests specially in an open plan place too! No escape!

How is everyone else? Anyone fed up yet?

Been having pains for weeks but they are definitely starting to feel stronger and more uncomfortable this past week!

2nd day of mat leave and I already don't know what to do with myself! 35 weeks today!

Everythinggettingbigger · 19/04/2016 13:41

Officially full term Ice how exciting! Sorry if I missed anything big trying to catch up on my phone of 2 pages wasn't easy 🙈

ParsnipSoup · 19/04/2016 17:58

Yay for being term ice!

I had a really busy shift last night and I fell over, to make it worse neighbours doing DIY means I got woken up hours early today. Oh well... Only 3 to go!!

daisywhoopsie · 19/04/2016 19:36

The only thing I'm trying is raspberry leaf tea, can't. I haven't the stomach and/or stamina to be doing with any of the other suggestions I've received!

Sorry to hear about your tooth, everything. Tooth ache is horrid at the best of times.

Are you alright after your fall, parsnip?! Hope you didn't hurt yourself.

ODog · 19/04/2016 20:21

Hope you are feeling ok parsnip. I slipped down the stairs a few weeks go and it was horrible. Not a bad fall at all but makes you feel really odd when pregnant and I was also carrying a toddler

Everythinggettingbigger · 19/04/2016 20:26

How are you feeling after your fall parsnip?

I has my DS friend round after school and somehow managed to be stood up in the kitchen for an hour and a half cooking, up and down the stairs to the boys, washing etc...I'm now in agony and can barely walk and having lots of pains! Definitely over done things this evening!

Icecappedpinetrees · 19/04/2016 20:40

You ok parsnip?

ODog · 19/04/2016 21:20

Ahhh I have serious BH paranoia! I never had them last time and this is about the 3rd time I've been on edge thinking...is this it?!

Maybe I should turn one born off....?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 19/04/2016 21:20

Eek parsnip hope you're ok?

I've almost survived the inlaws visit, last evening! Had a lovely day today (they were odd sight-seeing, I went for an osteopath appointment then met a friend for coffee and wandered around in the sunshine before a quiet afternoon at home) but I have suddenly got super impatient this evening!! I was doing quite well with my French and then tonight I couldn't understand a bloody thing and just felt super annoyed with everyone...I think maybe I'm tired!! But tomorrow evening we are here on our own SmileSmile

GunShotResidue · 19/04/2016 21:24

Hope you're OK Parsnip!

I'm feeling very irritable today. I'm in bed, hoping to wake up in a better mood tomorrow!

GrouchyKiwi · 19/04/2016 21:31

Hope you're ok after your fall, Parsnip.

Hooray for one more night, cant!

Overdid things here again today. Digging holes to plant some shrubs, which was very naughty. I don't think I'll tell the osteopath about that on Friday...

GunShotResidue · 19/04/2016 21:32

X-posted, glad it's almost over cant! I hope tomorrow flies by.

Icecappedpinetrees · 19/04/2016 21:49

Watching too ODog...

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 19/04/2016 22:16

They leave early tomorrow so it's basically OVER!! Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike them, it's just...well, you know, too much Confused but I SURVIVED!! And now I realise I will have a new one born every minute to watch on catch up tomorrow too, hurrah!
Osteopath told me today that my pelvis is no longer misaligned (yay!) and he also reckons the baby is pretty well engaged and that my body is perfectly ready for the birth - he was so sweet and lovely and positive that I nearly cried, but also felt SO much more confident afterwards! Who cares if he says that to all the girls?!

ParsnipSoup · 20/04/2016 00:14

I'm okay... Just bruised arm, bum and pride. Being much more careful tonight.

Hurrah for family visits almost being over and the nice osteopath Cant.

Grouchy I'm going to be digging up all the weeds in the garden next week. Might give up on the idea of doing the front garden and just use weed killer. Bit reluctant as neighbour is still letting dog use my front garden as a toilet and I don't really want to poison the poor dog (the owner however...).

ODog maybe it is the start of the real thing? Perhaps your baby has been listening to one born through the bump and decided they want to see what this being born fuss is all about. I got woken up from my sleep today with really painful braxton hicks and spent a while worrying that I'd be going into work to have a baby rather than doing a shift (and my legs aren't even shaved!!!).

ODog · 20/04/2016 06:36

Your legs not being shaved made me laugh parsnip. I hate this bit as I feel like I need to keep groomed just in case. You are very brave though, I'd hate to give birth in front of colleagues!

No such luck of baby being inspired by OBEM. I'm almost certain she will cling on until the bitter end like her brother, who arrived 1hr before I was due to be induced.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 20/04/2016 07:01

Well I'm slightly concerned that this baby might just have been hanging on until the inlaws leave - though maybe just wishful thinking?! Am in a world of weird double-think where I don't want it to be late OR early or imminently arriving!
I'm also really confused about braxton hicks...I thought I was having them for ages but then actually the way everyone describes them doesn't quite fit what's going on for me I don't think...but there is definitely lots going on in there! Ok breakfast with the inlaws then I wave them off and get to do exactly what I want today, it feels like the first real day of maternity leave! Maybe I will try and build the snuzpod which arrived yesterday!

Icecappedpinetrees · 20/04/2016 07:05

Try not to wave too enthusiastically! Grin jumping up and down with glee will do nothing to strengthen familial ties or your pelvic floor te he he!

GunShotResidue · 20/04/2016 08:14

I'd hate to give birth in front of colleagues!
I was terrified that I might go into labour when staying with family over easter, the maternity unit in my home town is staffed by some people I went to school with, my cousins wife and various other people I vaguely know (the joys of a small town!). Quite liking the fact that I don't know anyone here!

Very impressed by everyone's gardening. I have thrown some seeds onto a flower bed. I kill everything I try and grow so DH won't let me buy any pretty flowers from the garden centre.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 20/04/2016 08:15

Haha ice! DP was sad taking them to the airport this morning and although they ARE very sweet I was...not sad! Already enjoying the peace and quiet Smile
Just put on last night's One Born and actually I'm not sure I can watch it anymore....it's becoming a bit terrifying at this point Confused

daisywhoopsie · 20/04/2016 08:40

Glad you're okay, parsnip.

That sounds very positive, can't. I'm sure he doesn't say it to all the girls Grin

Don't worry gunshot, you're not alone. I could kill a cactus in a matter of days I reckon.

Best be off, really need to shave my legs!

Everythinggettingbigger · 20/04/2016 09:16

Just about to watch last night's obem too! I feel the same daisy I find myself crossing my legs when watching it now!

Made my birth plan with the midwife yesterday and didn't realise by saying no diamorphine (didn't agree with me last time) that only leaves me with gas and air or an epidural 😱

ODog · 20/04/2016 12:50

Just watching the rest of one born from last night. I bloody hate that midwife with the eyes that pop out of her face. If a woman has epidural written over her birth plan, don't try to patronisingly convince them to have a water birth ffs. I'm sure she knows her options. Don't get me wrong I hope to have a drug free-ish water birth but if a woman doesn't want to then that's fine too. There's also a disproportionate number of sections and instrumental deliveries. I'm sure the % is less IRL. Normal births just don't make good TV I guess.

Anyway...rant over.

Got serious sling envy at toddler group this morning. DH will not be happy if I add to our collection...hmmm...

Just waiting on the sky man to set sky up in our bedroom. Now that really is an essential investment so I can snooze/boob a newborn whilst keeping DS in bed longer than 6am. Never thought I'd say this, but thank you peppa pig!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 20/04/2016 13:00

I was really quite shocked by that too odog - haven't seen that in OBEM before I don't think! Poor woman (but I really loved that Spanish couple...). I think the Sky installation sounds like a vital addition Smile
I have been having a super lazy day so far and feeling almost a bit guilty...had lunch at 12 (we have soooo many leftovers to get through!) and keep feeling like there is something i should be doing (like loads of cleaning & sorting perhaps?!) but I'm watching Netflix instead and going out for a massage in a bit!

armyofthree · 20/04/2016 17:05

Can't really pleased that inlaws have left. Mine came for my first DS and I swear that was the trigger for months of post natal depression. Glad it is over for you.

Had a frantic day running around because started getting strong pains this morning. Instead of relaxing I hit the shops in a mixture of denial and panic that I didn't have breast feeding bras and a dressing down for the hospital.

Friend has brought round a tens machine but they have calmed down now.

Hoping the panic is going to get DH to finish baby's room (bits I can't do). Hate chasing him to do things -not like it isn't his baby as well. I'm doing the lists, research, checking, washing, ordering and decorating. Sorry rant over!

Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine today.
