Oi shhhhhh you lot, stop bursting my FTM bubble!! WinkWink
also just remembered one of my dreams - I seem to keep having versions of the same dream...last night it was that somebody else I met who was pregnant could see their entire baby already, though it hadn't been born yet - the baby's hand somehow stuck out through her stomach, and the you could see the baby's whole face and head too, but somehow it still lived inside (??) - does that even make sense? In this dream I couldn't see my baby and was glad because this over woman's baby had a funny face (some slight deformity around the eyes) and I felt bad for her...so weird! I have had loads of dreams all throughout my pregnancy about babies (or bits of them!) poking out through the stomach, alien-style - it seems to be a theme!! Any other weird dreams happening?

Everythinggettingbigger · 14/04/2016 14:25

well as the mother of a 5 year old who still doesn't sleep through the night in his own bed I feel for you all!! I would like to say they will start sleeping soon, but that time has never come for us! on the plus side though hes old enough to entertain himself while I have a lie down and will be in school during my mat leave (last day tomorrow GrinGrinGrin) so I will still have the days to myself!

glad the scan went ok ice

cant that is a very strange dream Confused got to say not really had any weird dreams lately, few at the beginning but that's it.

having lots of pains and pressure (34+2 so thinking too early to be signs of anything hopefully) but I nearly lost the plot and started crying in the middle of a retail park car park on Tuesday because I literally couldn't walk the pain and pressure was that bad! the only way I can describe the pain is its like being being scratched inside your bits Blush a sharpish pain....kept thinking if something is sharp its going to pop my waters here!! took me a good 5 mins before I could walk waddle to my car

tell me im not the only one?

GrouchyKiwi · 14/04/2016 14:38

Everything I'm having sharp pains as well. I think it's the ligaments around the bump. They ease with heat.

I've washed all of our newborn baby clothes (apart from the woollens) and am finding it a bit emotional folding up the tiny pieces.

34 weeks now, having some light contractions, and totally ready to have this baby out. My two girls are driving me batty. I really need to be able to move around more. And with all of the relaxin coming in now my SPD is even worse.

Feeling very envious of all of you who only have a couple of weeks to go!

glad I'm not alone Grouchy but sorry you are uncomfortable too!

I actually don't feel that bad this time round, I was so over pregnancy at this point with my DS1 but I'm not struggling as much this time round, I was still quite happy until I got sick this weekend. Full of cold and a chest infection but can't take anything so that's all fun and games!

ParsnipSoup · 14/04/2016 17:02

I'm sure the pregnancy sleep deprivation is training for the baby sleep deprivation to come. I'd love 8 hours sleep!

Went to the midwife today, still measuring huge but she thinks baby has turned. I'd psyched myself up for the possibility of an elective section and now I need to get back in the normal delivery mindset which means the possibility of going overdue... Noooooo!!

GunShotResidue · 14/04/2016 18:26

I'm worried about that Parsnip, I've been going over all the positives of a c-section and I actually think I'll almost be disappointed if he's head down!

Everything I'm the opposite! With DD I was fine even at 40+5. I'm 35 today and so ready to not be pregnant!

Lots of sharp pains here as well.

Icecappedpinetrees · 14/04/2016 20:12

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee - Emm, was she a kangaroo?? He he he!

I used to have sharp pains with ds1. Shooting stabs down...well...down there, you know.

Oh parsnip, that's good though, but the thought if running overdue is awful.

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 15/04/2016 05:51

So it appears that the multiple waking up each night/inability to breathe/finally giving up trying to sleep sometime around 4am may be a new feature of my 37th week of pregnancy...
Went down to the sofa at 4.30 after laying awake for almost an hour (same as yesterday)...and I only had about a 10min nap yesterday Confused, must try harder today!! It didn't help that the baby had chronic hiccups for ages while I was trying to get back to sleep! Hope everyone else had more luck sleeping than me?

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 15/04/2016 05:51

Also - think I need to NC. Am not quitting coffee, am quitting sleep. Coffee is my one and only friend!

Icecappedpinetrees · 15/04/2016 07:51

Hiccups are so annoying! My wee bump has them most days.

With DS1 he had them every night when I went to bed and it drove me nuts but one of my most precious memories is the first day he was born - he was born at 8.01am so we'd spend the day together and I popped him down at about 10pm in the crib (plastic tub) that they give you in hospital and tried to get some sleep. He got the hiccups and he seemed so tiny, so vulnerable and so overwhelmed by them. So I just held him and marvelled at how less than 24 hours before I'd been carrying him feeling them and now he was curled up in my arms. I can't describe it, it was really amazing.

Good luck with napping. Eat a big lunch then pop down somewhere and snooze away unless the big lunch will give you heartburn

armyofthree · 15/04/2016 08:47

Right so I'm 36 + 2. Can sympathise with everyone here on the no sleep. I have huge bags under my eyes and people asking me if I'm feeling ok because I look ill from not sleeping. Up from 4:30- awful pelvic pain. DH said all he heard even when I was asleep was dull moaning.

On a positive went to midwife (over due appointment) and told baby is measuring slightly larger than average and is in a low head down position but not engaged yet.

Made the birth plan with her so now feeling it can happen any time with DC3! Exciting. Now looking forward to meeting him although I'll miss the peace and quiet.

katienana · 15/04/2016 14:02

Had another midwife appointment today. Still measuring big for dates which worries me so have been referred to antenatal clinic to speak to a consultant. Ds was 10lb 9 and I really don't want to deal with another birth like that. SPD is awful now and am on crutches. So pretty fed up.
Good news was head was 2/5 engaged so who knows I might be lucky and go into labour sooner rather than later.

Everythinggettingbigger · 15/04/2016 16:19

Ice im going to blame the hormones but that actually made me cry!! How right you are, hiccups drive me insane, he gets them every night as I try to go to sleep but I can't imagine having this tiny baby actually being overcome by hiccups!

Last day in work....less than an hour to go!! although I actually brought my hospital notes with me this morning I just had such a strange feeling, bad pains, aching bump and hips, felt really nauseous. Nearly called the hospital at around 11am but decided to see how I got on a bit longer, just ignored it really, aching bump and nausea seem to have eased now but still got the back pains so lets see how this goes.....my mum said this is how her first labour started with my DSIS (im number 3, dsis is 1st) so shes now convinced its going to happen early and DS2 will actually be at his own baby shower next weekend! Imagine.....34+3 today so good few weeks yet lets hope!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 15/04/2016 17:10

ice that IS very sweet! army sorry you are suffering too but that is great news that the baby has moved! And katie eek! If you have done this before with such a big baby I think you can do anything!!

Am just enjoying the last moments of peace before DP's entire family arrive from France for 5 days...have spent the last 2 days in a mad whirl of insane cleaning - and just got news that the first one of our NCT group has had her baby! I think i need to sit down for half an hour before the inlaws arrive otherwise we might be looking at 2 NCT babies in one day....I have TOTALLY overdone it!

ODog · 15/04/2016 20:02

Fingers crossed baby stays put everything.

Hope the inlaws aren't too tiresome cant. Luckily mine have very little interest in is so we don't have to see them too much.

Sorry to everyone suffering with aches/pains/lack of sleep.

Found out today another one of my nct group is pregnant again. So that's 1 girl already with 2 and 4 of us currently pregnant with dc2. We are going to have to find bigger venues to meet!

I had the craziest BHs last night. Never had them with DS Sonia all a bit new. For a few minutes I thought it might be early labour but they weren't painful, just very tight and uncomfortable and my bump was going from tent shaped to flat to concave. It was very weird.

37weeks today so officially full term will probably still be pregnant for another month though

Icecappedpinetrees · 15/04/2016 20:13

Well done PP who has now finished work! Woo hoooo!

Katienana - won't be long! Smile

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 15/04/2016 21:42

The one benefit of them not being from the UK is that we don't have to do it often odog (though the language barrier is probably enough to off-set the benefit of that for me, it's such hard work!)

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/04/2016 08:37

Absolutely destroyed!! Barely had any sleep for about a week due to chronic heartburn.....now been up all night with toothache too! Gutted was meant to be going to the zoo with our DS but will now be spending the day in an emergency dentist Sad

Feeling pretty sorry for myself Blush

armyofthree · 16/04/2016 09:30

Oh no everything that sounds awful! Poor you. Hopefully once tooth is sorted you will be able to take a nap. I'm guessing you are taking everything off the counter for the heartburn. Have you asked doctor for something stronger?

I had the worst back ache in the night so much so DH got up to go to the loo and then came and gave me a massage. Felt like all my muscles were seizing up.

Don't remember these last couple of weeks being this hard but probably just forgotten. Sad

Everythinggettingbigger · 16/04/2016 14:04

That's nice of your DH army.....I barely even got "are you OK?" This morning Shock DP not really showing his supportive side this week! How's the back now?

Toothache not gone yet hoping it's just because they have been poking it and it will settle down, abscess they refuse to do root canal on while I'm pregnant Sad 2nd time since I've been pregnant now that I've been at the emergency dentist! Managed to have half an hour sleep before but got DSs friend coming over soon so no peace in this house!

Just sat down in the nursing chair in what will be the baby's room and don't want to get up again....think I could have another sleep here!

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 16/04/2016 14:18

Poor you everything! I had another crap night's sleep and spent from 5-6.30am on the sofa on MN reading and now have a massive crick in my neck and can hardly move it which is making me really moody today! Although that might be the in-laws...and the fact that although DP has gone out with them now, he "helpfully" suggested the jobs I might do while they are out and I am at home "resting"...I would cheerfully swing for him at the moment, he keeps telling me to rest and not overdo it but then wants me to fix up the entire flat while he's out (which is exactly what I have been doing so far this week, I have worked my arse off!).
Anyway they are still out for now so I'm going to try and get my head down for a bit (not that I can get comfortable...) - I also started panicking last night that I was going into labour and I think the reality is just starting to hit me that this IS actually going to happen and I should probably read the birthing books I've got instead of just carrying them around with me!!

frozensmoothie · 16/04/2016 16:45

Sympathies to everyone with the lack of sleep! I'm struggling too, I can't get comfortable and turning over in bed is a mission and painful too. I'm so achey at the moment and feel like I'm getting iron deficient again. Time to up it to two Spatones a day I think!

First week of mat leave is over and I already can't imagine going back to work! I've been very lazy this week which has been lovely.

Just found out a second member of our NCT group has had her baby, the day after we met for coffee!

38 weeks tomorrow and seeing midwife on Monday, will be interesting to see if baby is engaged yet.

ODog · 16/04/2016 21:36

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

Toothache is awful everything hope you get some relief soon. You can take fairly strong painkillers during pregnancy so make sure you have something strong enough.

DH is out tonight and will be staying out as its a mission to get home from where he is so I'm hoping to get a spacious nights sleep since I'll only be sharing with DS.

Planning to clean my mattress tomorrow (wash the mattress cover and Hoover it?) in preparation for inevitable cosleeping. Have bought a new mattress protector too so should be nice a fresh for the baby to puke, poo and pee over . Moses basket is all cleaned and bought a new mattress for it but I'm going to take a guess that it won't be used much at all .

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee · 17/04/2016 14:05

Just having a quick check-in to say happy Sunday! We have the entirety of DP's family visiting from France and I am going quietly mad (anyone who read/remembers my posts from Xmas when we visited them will know why), made worse by his DN being a bit under the weather so instead of them all being out doing fun day-trips leaving me as home thanks to the pregnant excuse they are here....advice to anyone who is listening on what NOT to do at 37 weeks pregnant, top of the list would be to have the in-laws to visit especially if they can't be arsed to speak English to you in your own home - but I'm putting a brave face on it! And at least I actually slept well last night!

Icecappedpinetrees · 17/04/2016 14:50

cantbelieveImquittingcoffee. - I can barely tolerate my own nearest and dearest so can't believe you're managing with ILs!

How's the tooth everything?
