I meant to say that I went to a pregnancy osteopath today. She basically said that I have loads of issues (I sort of knew that) but she's confident we can sort the back problems at least because they're almost definitely just because of pregnancy. Apparently I use all the wrong muscles to move my joints. I'm very sore now, but I know it's going to be good.

Also I got to try out the second seat on the Phil and teds double I bought. My friend came over with her little boy who is the same age as DS. They needed a nap and we wanted a peaceful coffee and didn't want to share the cake so we took them out in the double. It pushed lovely and they were both asleep within 5-10 mins. Perfect!

I've started carrying gaviscon in my handbag to swig from the bottle while I'm out and about.

Midwife appointment tomorrow for my first bump measure. Everyone keeps saying I look huge. I don't know if I should be incredibly offended or if I should be flattered?

Grouchy that's interesting about the pregnancy osteopath. Someone suggested that I should see one, but I was a bit reluctant. Might look into it some more...

I think it's a good idea. When I had SPD with DD2 I saw a pregnancy physio at the hospital and she didn't really do anything to help, just told me how not to move. The osteopath has given me some "therapeutic" exercises that should help relieve symptoms, and the work we'll be doing should help strengthen the areas that help support the pubic bones.

She's also told me not to do pelvic floor exercises because I won't be able to do them correctly, and doing them badly is worse than not doing them at all!

My situation is compounded by the fact that I have hypermobility syndrome, which means that my joints are weak anyway.

Wrt pelvic floor exercises. I did all the pelvic floor exercises in the world when pregnant with DS. Ended up being referred to a physio after leakage didn't get better at 6 week check and ended up having electro therapy (it's not painful and was weirdly relaxing). It totally sorted things. Physio basically said that a big baby, constipation all through pregnancy and a long pushing stage (2hrs) meant it was never going to end well. So I'm doing them when I remember now but I'll just go back to the physio again if I need to. It really was no big deal to get sorted.

parnsip with DD one of my sisters workmates told me that I had the biggest bump she'd ever seen. I measured on the 50th percentile the entire pregnancy!

Got all DD's old clothes out today, between them and my friends lot I have quite a few! I was shocked at how many clothes DD had, we were given loads and most were only worn once! I did also go a bit mad buying ebay bundles, which I'm not doing this time!

LOL Daphne. Never mind, you're pregnant so your brain isn't what it was.

I forgot to go to my 20 week scan with DD2. They were very good about it and booked me in again for the same afternoon.

Odog that sounds fun trying out the double buggy! I think my DD is quite a bit older than your DS so hopefully I will manage with buggy/sling or buggy/buggy board, but a bit of me wonders if I could do with a double...

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned by name

I had a spending splurge online for the new baby last night - the first new things I've bought as we won't need much. Cute unisex babygros from John Lewis and Jojo maman, a lovely comforter and swaddle by Aden and anais and some newborn sized reusable nappies oh yes and a maternity dress for me!

Planning to get a snuzpod and a stretchy sling and then I think we just need to get all the old gear out for a wash and sort.

Feeling very excited to meet the new baby!

Ha Grouchy I felt a bit like that yesterday when DD had a massive tantrum in a public loo!!

DS will be almost 2 when new baby arrives. I was planning on a buggy board/pram/sling combo as he is a good walker and he still like a carry in the sling but a bargain came up and I thought it's nice to have the option for days out as he still naps.

Yay for baby shopping!! Is anyone going to the Baby Show in London this month?!

Had glucose in my wee at the midwife today so off for a glucose tolerance test in a week. sighs I love cake, jam and orange juice too much to contemplate over 3 months of well behaved eating!!

Blaming pregnancy hormones but today has now turned into feeling depressed. Chocolate and coffee haven't helped. DH is busy at work so will be home late. Double . I need a holiday.

ODog DD2 will be 22 months when the baby arrives and I'm planning on letting her share the pushchair with the baby. Have a Moby for the baby, a Manduca for both of them, and a ring sling for DD2. Will be interesting to see who uses the pushchair more!

I also have a stretchy/Manduca/ting sling combo! Snap! I reckon DS will be in the sling more than the baby despite refusing a sling for the last 2 weeks in favour of walking or 'new buggy mum-mum'

Just been to asda, they had some packs of pampers nappies reduced to clear at £3.50 for 47-72 nappies depending on size. I spent about £70 I tend to use a mix of reusables and disposables bit I think I'll be lazy and just use disposables for a bit around the move and after the birth.

I hope today gets better Grouchy!

Parsnip there has been some chat about glucose testing on the FB group and the perils of eating sugary things before you give a urine sample! Fingers crossed your glucose test is all fine. Enjoy the baby show if you are going!

ODog my DD will be 3.5 when this baby arrives so should be fine to manage between walking, board and buggy when baby is in sling. I just like the idea of the Phil and Ted's - especially if they both fall asleep! (DD doesn't nap anymore but occasionally nods off in buggy). My DD used to call me mum-mum but now opts for mummy or mum because she is a "big girl". I really miss it!

Managed to do ballet, library and swimming today with DD so I'm totally knackered and ready for a rest at work tomorrow!

I'm in the hospital overnight, as I had a bit of a bleed this morning. Because I have a low-lying placenta, they had told me to ring them if I had ANY bleeding.

It's stopped now, stopped this morning actually but they're keeping me in for observation. Bored bored bored.

Parsnip I had glucose in my urine after I'd eaten cake not long before doing the sample. I think it's fairly common. I made sure I had nothing sugary to eat the next time and my sample was clear. Avoiding all sugar before giving samples now!

Sorry to hear you've had a bleed nicky hope everything is ok and you get to go home soon.

Grouchy I hope you're feeling less glum than earlier... Maybe more chocolate is the answer?

Nikki Are they keeping you overnight? Being in hospital can be so dull... Especially if you feel well. Do they have wifi? At least then you can put on Netflix.

Frozen and Pearly unfortunately I'd just had buttered crumpets for brekkie, nothing sweet, and still had +++glucose in my wee. Hoping it was a weird abnormal result and my GTT will be okay. I've been super thirsty for weeks now (drinking 4-5l or more and still feeling thirsty) so wouldn't be surprised if that was due to high blood sugars, thought it might just be a weird pregnancy thing. Won't be the end of the world if I have gestational diabetes and at least I won't have to make the difficult choice between labour ward and midwife led unit anymore.
