Oh lovely news Brindler. Welcome to the world junior Brindler! Hope you've got lots of lovely drugs and hormones to make the pain manageable.

Fraggleyourock · 17/03/2016 07:54

Yay!!! Congratulations brindler! That's so exciting!! Well done, told you you'd kick arse! Enjoy lots of cuddles!! Thanks

hufflebottom · 18/03/2016 07:01

Am kicking myself. I've missed soooo much.

Congratulations on your gorgeous babies LastOne and Brindler.

Hope you're both ok.

Fraggleyourock · 18/03/2016 17:46

Hey there huffle! Hope you're well! Brew

Shirkingfromhome · 18/03/2016 18:48

hope you're well!

I might regret this but those of you who have your babies, what's the reality of going back to new born babies when you have other children? I'm seriously dreading night feeds again with a toddler that wakes at 6am! Tell me it's ok!

LastOneDancing · 19/03/2016 05:54

Thank you Huffle! How's things it you?

shirking I'm already dreading DH going back to work. I think he's going to have to continue to get up with DS1 a couple of times a week to give me chance for a catch up. I've been managing work, being heavily pregnant and 5.30am toddler get ups so no reason why he can't do a few.

I'm more concerned about DS1's new habit of bolting. We all ventured into town yesterday to get some nappies and spent 90% of the time chasing him Sad I'm scared he's going to get hurt.

Shirkingfromhome · 19/03/2016 06:55

Oh no LOD I have a bolter too. I've ended up buying a double buggy just in case - especially as tantrums are creeping in.

How old is your toddler? Do you think they'd get on with a wrist strap?

Good point about dh, I don't know why we feel we need to cope with it all by ourselves.

Brindler · 19/03/2016 19:34

Hi everyone thanks for all your lovely posts

It appears I have another moses basket refuser who will only sleep on me! Just gave in and coslept last night just to get some sleep! Really thought I'd be luckier in that department this time as dd was an absolute nightmare!

Shirking so far dd has been great, although she is 4.5 so a bit more independent. Dh has been taking her out to try and keep her entertained. Ive yet to leave the house! He's back to work on Monday though so I'm on school runs and trying to deal with both of them on my own! Bit worried about it to say the least!

Hope everyone else is doing well

hufflebottom · 19/03/2016 22:42

We're doing ok. Trying to work out where the last 3 weeks have gone.

Shirking I was dreading school run with dd. Surprisingly we've fallen into a routine in the morning.

I was going to suggest a retractable dog lead...Grin but think nspcc may find its child abuse.

But would reins work, or buggy board?

SunnyL · 21/03/2016 07:37

So how many of us are left? Today is DDay and no sign of imminent arrival of baby sunny. Bored, frustrated and weirdly feeling really healthy. The best I've felt in months and months.

Ideas to fill my time?

LastOneDancing · 21/03/2016 08:01

Happy due date Sunny! I spent the last few weeks cleaning madly so that's what I would have done with my free time - so sad! Although I swear steam mopping the Itchen floor set off labour first time round.

Re:bolting toddler I have ordered a buggy board & hopefully he'll be so chuffed with it he'll wat to stay in one place. If not he's back in his reins and that will NOT go down well!

Brindler this is pretty much my answer to anything sleep related but have you tried a bednest? My friend had a total velcro baby but she borrowed our cocoonababy and he settled in it straight away. I hear sleepyheads are good too. Do you know anyone who might have one you could try?

Shirkingfromhome · 21/03/2016 13:02

Happy due date Sunny perhaps things might start happening soon? Don't you sometimes get a burst of energy before labour?

Clean, window-shop, got for a walk, meet a friend of coffee, watch a box set it read while you can still focus?

Hope you got some rest brindler - I wrapped ds's mattress in a pillow case so he could smell me when he was put down. Not sure if it's fool-proof but it worked for us in the early weeks.

Hope everyone else is OK? My ddate is weds but I'm 99% I'll be induced again if baby hasn't boxed their way out. My stomach is resembling a bag of ferrets - I'm getting very odd looks when I'm out!

And an Ewan dreamsheep!

OP posts:
SunnyL · 21/03/2016 15:37

Went for a nice lunch with DH and a potter round town before seeing a friend for coffee so pretty much ticked off your list!

I proposed marriage to Ewan the Dream sheep last time. He saved my sanity!

Brindler · 21/03/2016 15:40

Well we've now gone the other way and he does nothing BUT sleep. Not sure if it's because my milk has come in so he's more full, or if he's poorly - dd has suspected hand foot & mouth. We're off to the docs in a bit. Had an awful midwife this morning who could barely speak English and hadnt even heard of hand foot & mouth. Not having a great day 😢

Fraggleyourock · 21/03/2016 16:43

I'm sorry to hear that brindler, you'd have thought they'd have to know about all these things, working in the community and all! Fingers crossed its just a false alarm, please let us know how you're getting on.
Sunny! Happy due date!! I'm getting seriously excited to hear about more baby arrivals! Cannot believe my dd is 3 months already! And DS will be 15 months on Thursday! Time goes too fast!!
On that note, obviously I don't have to go out for school runs in the morning, and have a tandem buggy for the two of them. DD usually wakes after DS so I can generally get him sorted first. I found that he became a proper daddy's boy when my little girl arrived though, I felt awful for a couple of weeks about it, felt like I'd let him down a bit. But he adores her! Always comes up and strokes her head and spends a lot of the day by her bouncer. Basically, I am making a meal out of saying don't panic! All will be perfect and everyone adjusts and slots in amongst one another Thanks

LastOneDancing · 22/03/2016 06:59

Good grief fraggle that's hardly a gap
between your two at all! Im in shock & awe!! Smile
Good to her that your two are finding their feet - my DS literally stood by the door looking out of the glass when DH popped to bargain booze the newsagents yesterday. It was heartbreaking, I felt awful.

And hooray for sleep Brindler! I got none last night between newborns & toddlers, yet DH is the one moping about like a yeti yawning & sighing. I'm waiting for him to moan at me that he's 'exhausted'!

Shirkingfromhome · 22/03/2016 09:08

Brindler hope you've managed to get your dd seen and you're all ok. HFM is vile. I caught it off DS and it was awful.

Fraggle you have given me hope Grin I'm pleased you've all settled into your new life as a family of four.

DS is already a daddy's boy so I suspect I will be even less favoured when new baby is here. It is upsetting but what can you do?

Here Brew LOD I'd offer you wine but it's a little early.

Sunny hope you're ok and have a nice plans to keep you busy today.

I'm off to the cinema, not sure what to watch yet but sitting in a dark room without having to speak to anyone is heaven right now!

Hope everyone else is OK.

Fraggleyourock · 22/03/2016 21:18

Yes, I accidentally fell pregnant 3 months after DS was born... DD arrived 5 days before his first birthday and weighed exactly the same as he did when he was born, which I love!
However hard it is at first, and however guilty you may feel for your older DC, think about what you're giving them- a buddy for life! And all the fun they will have playing and growing together will be priceless!

LastOneDancing · 23/03/2016 15:21

How's the family brindler? I hope DS (and you) have escaped the HFM?

Sunny how are things going?!

SunnyL · 23/03/2016 16:15

No baby here yet. However on the plus side my mum just took me out for a gorgeous lunch and a potter round the shops. I'm sure I'll miss that someday soon. Someday when I'm not the size of a whale Grin

Shirkingfromhome · 23/03/2016 20:34

I'm glad you had a nice lunch sunny!! Hope people aren't pestering you too much! Thinking of you all

Brindler · 25/03/2016 21:45

Hi everyone! Well took dd to docs who didn't think she had hf&m but did say she had tonsillitis!! Felt awful as she'd been ill since Thursday and I didn't take her to the docs until the monday! Doc couldn't explain the spots round her mouth though so I'm still not entirely convinced that she didn't have it. But at least she's better now anyway.

Ds is still super cute. Suffering a bit with trapped wind after feeds but other than that he's good as gold. Fingers crossed ive got an easier one this time! Dd had also been a fantastic little helper!

How is everyone else? Where are we on due dates now??! Sunny and Shirking the race is definitely on!!

Shirkingfromhome · 25/03/2016 22:21

Pleased your DD is better brindler - don't feel bad about not taking her to the doctors though. It's hard to know when to go or not sometimes.

The well-meaning 'any news?' texts are coming in despite being vague about due date. Have midwife appt on Tuesday so will get my induction date then.

Hope you're ok Sunny ?

Hope everyone else is having a lovely Easter weekend?
