Wow Sunny they're lovely!

Feeling ok thanks fraggle - a bit sore & stiff but better than expected and my mood has been good! Nameless baby only lost 3% so very pleased that feeding seems to be going ok although I'm on sheilds as my nips got really bruised - had his tongue tie snipped yesterday Sad But my milk has arrived and im sporting some comedy boobs this morning.

Sunny I missed that about the scan - I'd be annoyed too. Did you know something had been picked up or was it it of the blue?

Hope everyone is ok and not too uncomfortable.

Shirkingfromhome · 14/03/2016 07:24

Sorry fraggle missed your post Blush . Nothing yet, I think I have a couple of more weeks to go.

Pleased your doing well lod and great news you managed to get the tongue-tie sorted so quickly.

SunnyL · 14/03/2016 07:40

Yeah LOD we knew baby had something up with its kidney at the 20 week scan. We were told they would phone us if we needed another scan but no one ever did. I'm quite happy there is a scan just a bit miffed they didn't tell me.

Any closer to getting a name for baby nameless?

Fraggleyourock · 14/03/2016 08:08

I'm glad you're doing well LOD, I think I have gold top milk because neither of mine lost any weight lol. When my milk came in I was in agony, so I hope you don't feel that way! You don't need tender boobs on top of everything else. And I hope your nipples feel better now the tongue tie is sorted, now he will be able to latch properly!
I'm getting excited about the next announcement, could be any day! Is anyone doing the raspberry leaf tea thing?
Aren't you clever sunny! They're so cute, too! Shirking, you may well be wrong and go any day Smile

LastOneDancing · 15/03/2016 12:49

sunny those are amazing! So cute - and im in awe that you are finding time and energy to craft! I love to knit but just haven't managed to produce anything for either of my two (my two I've got two now!!) yet.
Boob update - hideous. Scab city. But I've got help from a lactation specialist & I'm watching Teen Mom to cheer myself up - things could be so much worse Grin
Nameless baby remains nameless but I'm starting to introduce him as 'his name is Leo but DH won't break yet' which will either make DH go nuts and chose a better name (not possible surely?!) or make him give up.

I'm tuned in for a labour announcement today. Who's going to oblige?!

LastOneDancing · 15/03/2016 12:51

Oh and fraggle my friend had gold top too - she'd feed for 10 mins at a time max and had this huge, contented baby who would just drop off to sleep anywhere. An awesome talent! Go you!

Shirkingfromhome · 15/03/2016 13:26

fraggle hope you don't mind me asking but do you follow any BF-specific diet or are you a natural good-top? I'm the equivalent of 1% and had to stop with DS! Trying to improve my grade this time around Grin

No rumblings from me - sorry to disappoint!

OP posts:
Shirkingfromhome · 15/03/2016 13:27

Gold top!

OP posts:
SunnyL · 15/03/2016 15:19

Ha ha - love the idea of being gold top. I'd probably be some sort of weight watchers equivalent that actively makes you lose weight. DD struggled so hard to put on weight due to reflux. It wasn't until she started on solids that she started sticking to a percentile. Before that she just kept dropping away each time I got her weighed.

No rumblings here unfortunately. Was next in line for cuddling a newborn baby at playgroup but DD dragged me away before I could get a sniff Envy

Brindler · 15/03/2016 16:34

It could be me! Waters broke this morning in the school playground of all places!! Have been to hosp but sent home and have to go back tomorrow morning if nothing happens in the meantime. But at the moment it's going the same way as it did with dd so think I'm gonna be putting in an all nighter....

SOOOOO SCARED!!!!!!

Shirkingfromhome · 15/03/2016 16:39

Aaahh Brindler how exciting. Good luck! I hope you're cuddling your new baby sooner than you think!

Just had a mw appt. baby has turned back-to-back Angry

LastOneDancing · 15/03/2016 16:42

Yay Brindler! Baby B is on their way!

At least it was on a playground not your carpet! Oh no - was it lots? How did you get home?

Try not to be scared. Not long until you get your newborn cuddles. Keep us updated x

LastOneDancing · 15/03/2016 16:43

That's a bit crap shirking. Does that change anything for you?

SunnyL · 15/03/2016 17:09

Ooh Brindler how exciting. I've heard stories that if it happens in mothercare you get a bag of goodies. Maybe you'll get some free school uniform instead Grin

Shirking you can join me in the back to back club. Lots of kneeling on all 4s on the floor looking like a plumb

Fraggleyourock · 15/03/2016 21:24

LOD, I had really painful bleeding and scabby nipples, was determined to continue, had 10 minutes with a lactation consultant when little lady was 5 days old and have had no bother since. I instantly felt the difference and my nipples healed up really quickly after that.
Shirking, sunny, I really hope your babies behave themselves and turn around before delivery day arrives! Oh, and no, I don't follow a special diet, I never even thought to Blush!
Brindler!! That's amazing!! Don't be scared! You're going to kick ass! You'll be cuddling your baby and thinking "that was so easy!" BiscuitThanks

LastOneDancing · 15/03/2016 21:59

I've paid for a consultant and been to a very helpful MW who helped immensely with latch but each time I feed the wounds are opened again - obv can't stop feeding right now as milks just come in and I can't bear getting engorged (pump just doesn't quite do the job of a cluster feeding baby!).
How did you let yours heal? Did you use any lansinoh etc? I'm concerned as I def have a plugged duct & I suspect the scan is covering the nipple pores for that duct Confused boak

Thinking of you Brindler!

Shirkingfromhome · 15/03/2016 22:44

Have you got any nipple shields LOD while you're healing? Had to do this with ds as he shredded mine, and slather in lansinoh. Cabbage leaves cooled in the fridge are nice to put down your bra, weird but it helped me after being advised by an old school midwife!

It doesn't change anything - he's not engaged so still free to move. Grin Sunny

LastOneDancing · 16/03/2016 02:24

Yep shirks got my sheilds. By do they make them clear?! I keep losing them in the duvet...
I totally forgot to send DH for cabbage! The MW mentioned it here too so worth trying. Thank you x sorry to derail this into a feeding thread everyone.

Shirkingfromhome · 16/03/2016 08:32

Just another thought LOD (had a similar issue with a blocked milk duct), I was advised to massage it single strokes in the direction of the nipple using a flannel when in the shower or bath. Not sure if you've tried this already?

Hope everyone else is OK this morning.

OP posts:
Fraggleyourock · 16/03/2016 10:26

I let them roam free as often as I could so the air could help the healing process. I also used Lansinoh (which I now use on my lips Grin) and also, after every feed I used to squeeze a bit of breast out and rub it over the nipple. Sorry I can't be more helpful, after I got the latch right, the wounds opened when she fed, but the pain instantly eased a little. I really hope you start to heal soon! I know how it is to dread every feed... I second massaging where the blockage is towards the nipple, either warm with a flannel or in a warm place- like in the shower. Nothing clears them like a baby suckling though. Thinking of you Thanks

Fraggleyourock · 16/03/2016 10:27

Also, wondering with excitement hoe brindler is getting on!

Brindler · 16/03/2016 19:09

Hi everyone, goingto attempt to string a sentence together through the tiredness...

Baby Brindler was born at 12.20am. Gorgeous little boy weighing 7lb 8oz. Super quick labour - contractions started at 9.30 and he arrived 3 hours later! Third stage was only 11 mins long! Tore quite badly probably because I went too fast so feeling super sore! And have had an hours sleep! But couldn't be happier, he's sooo cute!

Shirkingfromhome · 16/03/2016 21:02

Fantastic news brindler massive congratulations Flowers 3 hours Shock Wow!
I hope you're not too sore and are enjoying cuddling your new son.

I hope you manage to get some rest tonight x
