Gosh, you all seem incredibly ready for your new babies. I've got another 6 or 7 wks in work (working up to my due date) but to be honest I'd gladly go another month or so. I feel woefully under prepared!

Plus it's Easter weekend and I'm a little concerned our ward may be on reduced staff and close for new admissions.

Sunny do you have a work friend who would keep hold of any gifts for you? Would you feel the same about vouchers (if a work friend could buy them instead of an actual present).

Still no sign.....getting really bored now....have an appointment for 2 days after due date (which is the day before dd's birthday!) so really wanting this one to arrive early. Been walking everywhere and still nothing. Seems like this one is going to be stubborn like me and get big sis that will be fun for when they're teenagers.

How's everyone else?

HarimadSol · 11/02/2016 12:50

So so tired. I haven't been sleeping well because I can't breathe properly. Does anyone else feel like their whole nose and throat has swollen closed? I even snore while exhaling with my mouth closed, lying on my side. Poor DH.

But on a happier note, we're getting a new dishwasher today! The old one quit in November, and I'm very ready to be done with leaning over the bump to get to the hot water. It does my back in.

SunnyL · 12/02/2016 22:21

I hear you Harimad.I had about 2 hours sleep on Monday due to severe acid indigestion.

Had the midwife today. Baby is back to back. I was really hoping to avoid this after the stupidly long labour I had last time (65 hours). I'll start doing the exercises again but I do wonder if anyone has ever managed to turn their baby or its just something to do to make you feel like you're doing something helpful Angry

Shirkingfromhome · 13/02/2016 16:54

Have you had a look at the spinning babies website they have some exercises for posterior babies ?

Ds was breech at 32 wks and he'd turned by 36 although I'll guess I'll never know if he would've turned anyway iyswim.

I'm necking gaviscon like to water at the moment. Forgot about this part of it all!

Not good Shirking I was tempted to take shares out in Gaviscon.

Shirkingfromhome · 13/02/2016 17:12

We'd be millionaires huffle !

SunnyL · 13/02/2016 18:09

Yeah I did all the spinning babies stuff last time to no avail.

Have you discovered gaviscon double action yet? More pricey but goooood!

Shirkingfromhome · 13/02/2016 19:26

oh dear Sunny , that was my only suggestion.

Yep, double action gaviscon is amazing. I've got boxes of the sachets as I think they work faster! Bizarrely I find water really sets of my heartburn so I'm having to add Vimto to my cold drinks which seems to ward it off a bit.

Any progress huffle? Sorry - I know that question is annoying...

It was my first official day of ML today. I cleaned out my linen cupboard and threw away 2 bags of junk. It was glorious.

I think Im nesting.

hufflebottom · 16/02/2016 21:23

Nope nothing. Sad

She's still not shifting. Bad is killing me though. Very glad dd is at her dad for the next couple of days.

I don't think she's going to be on time

hufflebottom · 16/02/2016 22:27

Back even. Stupid auto correct

SunnyL · 17/02/2016 07:46

I got a ticking off from the midwife in Friday for not being prepared (5 weeks to go) ie bag not packed, couldn't remember when to call hospital etc etc. So I attempted to pack my bag which made me realise absolutely everything was in the loft.

So now I've managed to semi pack my bag and generate a huge pile of washing and ironing. Having babies seems to involve a lot of housework!

Oh and baby is back to back so I'm doing all this while sat onight hard chairs. Boohoo!

hufflebottom · 17/02/2016 08:24

I wasn't organised last time. My DM came over the other day looked at my hospital bag and commented on how big it was. However it has got mine and bumps stuff in.

Fraggleyourock · 17/02/2016 16:21

Hey all! I hope you're all doing ok! I'm sorry, I haven't actually caught up on the thread yet Blush, but I just wanted to check in! I've been so distracted I keep forgetting real life is happening outside of the home hehe. Just got back from a visit to my other half's parents, they're lovely, but I am so glad to be home!

Brindler · 17/02/2016 20:24

Ha ha sunny I'm the same! Just over 3 weeks to go and bag still not packed. Attempted to do it today but I'm getting so ridiculously tired in the afternoons it's currently sitting there with a pack of nappies and some spare knickers in it!

So uncomfortable lately too. Am getting weird achey hips at night has anyone else had this??

LastOneDancing · 17/02/2016 22:26

Oh yes the hips Brindler - my whole hip/undercarriage area is sore this time, I constantly feel like I've been on a 5m run (ha!). I have found putting a pillow between my knees helps lots, just makes it a bit of a mission to turn over.

I have been packing my bag the last couple of days - 'treated' myself to some arnica tabs, giant pants, new slippers, a litre of prune juice and and a big bag of dried apricots to snack on.
I'm obsessing about that first post birth poo Sad the last one has left mental scars.

Brindler · 18/02/2016 12:17

Had midwife appt this morning. Head is down but not engaged. Thought I was ready to go!

SunnyL · 18/02/2016 13:03

I've got 5 weeks to go and according to my notes head is down and 4/5 engaged - according to Dr Google that means I'm not engaged either.

Actually looking forward to baby dropping so I can breathe and eat again - even if it means waddling like a duck when i walk. Last time i remember baby dropping 3 weeks before she came so there was a lot of waddling.

hufflebottom · 18/02/2016 18:09

Well im still holding on, and I'm due tomorrow. Think I'll be seeing the midwife on Sunday then.

Been walking around today but think I overdone it. Back aches this evening.

Shirkingfromhome · 18/02/2016 18:23

No hospital bag packed here either! Have washed all the baby bits though. Had midwife appt on Tuesday, head's down but free.

Ah fraggle pleased you're still enjoying your baby bubble Smile

Yes to achy hips Sad Anyone else feeling like there undercarriage is going to collapse? I feel like I'm carrying a 4 stone baby this time around.

OP posts:
Brindler · 18/02/2016 20:17

Oh wow huffle that seems to have come round quick! Although prob doesn't feel that way for you! Backache could be a good sign - all my previous labour was in my back!

Oh yes shirking! Actually feel like I'm turning inside out down there! That's why I thought head might be engaged - goodness knows how it will feel when it actually is! Mentioned to midwife today who said it's probably just where things are 'looser' down there this time. Probably doesn't help that ive done my pelvic floor exercises about 5 times throughout this entire pregnancy

hufflebottom · 20/02/2016 09:14

Well nothing yesterday. So still holding on

Shirkingfromhome · 20/02/2016 09:32

Sad hope you're feeling ok huffle hopefully not too long now.

Much sympathy huffle - I was a week over with DD and really got fed up.

I'm trying to work out what punishment I can give DH. He did the shop last week and forgot to buy dinner for tonight.

He's on a stag do miles away and in return I'm looking after DD, the PILs dog (who shat all over the floor last night), the PILs arrive late tonight home from their hol and I'm feeding them breakfast and dinner tomorrow.

I think I deserve either diamonds or my body weight in chocolate Grin
