We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Laurenrl · 01/02/2016 09:39

Good luck pink!

shelbTa · 01/02/2016 11:06

Jesus, sorry to be a moaner, but I am really struggling today. Everything tastes absolutely awful, even fizzy water which was my go to. Keep feeling dizzy too.

Uhhh.

Runner - did you get your note extended?

X

BunchOfBobs · 01/02/2016 11:43

Hi all!
I'm back from NYC at last. Had a bit of a mare with a cancelled flight getting there so had to go a day later and managed to extend it for the extra day. Arrived back yesterday morning then had to drive home
And had a bit of a zombie day.
I had my 12 week scan this morning. I have a real baby looking baby now. No longer a pizza slice. Dates only out by 1 day so I'm now 12+2. The big tell the family marathon is in progress and we're telling the bulk of peopl tonight via the medium of Facebook.

I hope everyone is doing well and not too sicky. Welcome newbies.

Amazing bunch!!!

shelbTa · 01/02/2016 13:05

Was everything ok with the scan I take it?

BunchOfBobs · 01/02/2016 13:23

Everything all fine Shelb thanks. They showed us everything which was amazing and baby was moving around so much. DH commented on "it looks like it's in a washing machine". Did the NT measurement and had my bloods taking for the combined screening and I'm all Booked in for my 16 week appointment and 19 week abnormality scan. £5 for scan a photo! Glad I'd read that some places charge.

Mileymoocow · 01/02/2016 13:29

Aww bunch how lovely!! Grin

I'm so bloated I actually look like I have a bump already despite losing half a stone since christmas. Dunno if it's more obvious because I'm naturally quite slim but I'm concerned that 99% of the bloating is turning into farts!

Had my booking in appointment this morning. Lots of vouchers and freebies to rifle through so I'm off to do my couponing. OH dragged me into mothercare again so we now have stickers for the nursery wall, a record book and 3 wall canvas pictures pretty sure I said no buying until at least 8 weeks

Runner05 · 01/02/2016 13:40

Aww Shelb I get days like that when everything tastes off. No clue how to get round it, just hang in there.

Woohoo Bunch that is definitely a baby. Congrats you, you must be so excited!!! (My local hospital charge £10 a picture Shock)

miley your OH sounds like a bad influence lol

So just got back from Dr. And they have extended my sick note for 3 weeks! Hopefully my sickness will have become manageable by then and I'll be able to go back and tell the whole world I'm upduffed Grin mean while I'm going to try not to worry about anything and just concentrate on not vomiting Confused

Oh and Pink well done on getting back to work. How you doing?

Pinklily1 · 01/02/2016 13:54

Bunch, that is amazing! So pleased all is well.

Runner, glad they extended it for that long, I agree it's pointless having to go back regularly to get it updated.

So far, work is ok. Just making sure I am eating little and often.

BunchOfBobs · 01/02/2016 14:42

Thanks Runner , glad to hear you've got your sick note extended.

Very excited. DH has adopted the hilarious approach of texting his friends with the scan photo saying "Boom sex trophy"!!

Morwenna1 · 01/02/2016 15:57

Congrats Bunch that is a lovely clear image! Bet your pleased everything is on track. Fx for you that everything comes back good from the tests. I love how men take the credit for their superior sperm whilst you're the one puffing and panting and building a baby!Wink

Well done on making it to work Pink Hope you manage to get through the day! Any curious questions or have they left you alone?!

That's good you've got an extension Runner but agree it seems daft to have to go in when you know what's going on. They are just covering themselves and making sure you still feel rough! £10 a picture?! I get 3 for £10 here!

Sophie Did you mention the date the early scan put you at to your midwife then? Because 10 weeks does seem a bit early (although I have no idea if that's normal practice in your area). If they are under the impression you're 12 weeks based on your last period, I would ensure they are definitely aware of the early scan and query whether you should be going in. The scans are more accurate so I would go with whatever they said at that!

Hi Stark!! Hope everything is going ok and that you'll be joining us soon!

Morwenna1 · 01/02/2016 16:35

Oh, and by the way I now have an apricot! (12 weeks today)

LisaTheGreek · 01/02/2016 16:44

Congrats on your apricot, Morwenna!

Mileymoocow · 01/02/2016 17:43

pink how did work go? I'm considering telling my boss sometime this week but I'm still a bit dubious as i'm only 4 weeks.

mireenna how cute! 😊 I can't wait to upgrade from poppy seed

Mileymoocow · 01/02/2016 17:44

morweena stupid spell check 😠

Morwenna1 · 01/02/2016 17:52

I don't mind variations Miley! Do you have to tell your boss? (i.e. do you work with hazardous materials etc.?) If you can hold off, I would. Mine will know once I've had my scan and have my test results back!

Pinklily1 · 01/02/2016 17:57

Hi ladies

I'm very proud to say I survived the entire day!! I am absolutely shattered now though. I think it actually helped getting back, as I was distracted by work so I had less time to think about feeling shitty. I was really struggling being at home as I was wallowing in self pity with only the tv to distract me.

I did cave and tell the rest of my team (we are small, so only three extra people in addition to my boss). Two of them had guessed anyway as three weeks is a long time to be off with a 'sickness bug' Grin

Miley, 4 weeks is early but I have found it hugely helpful that my boss knows. It has taken some pressure off.

I can't believe they charge £10 for one picture Runner! I know my hospital charge but not sure what the fee is. Random question Mor but did you have to have change to pay or could you pay with notes or card?! I never have cash on me so I best be prepared when our time comes round. It must be so exciting seeing it wriggling on screen!

Shelb, how are you doing now?

How is everyone else?

Morwenna1 · 01/02/2016 18:03

I don't know yet Pink! Just was told in the notes that came with the scan letter what the charges are! I'll let you know in 8 days time Smile Well done with going back to work, I can imagine it's exhausting if you've been feeling rough.

So I still have my appetite (I get really really hungry!), and I still feel like a 90 year old woman, i.e. slightly breathless after not a lot of exertion. Yesterday I had bad backache, so decided to stretch out flat on the floor to see if that got rid of it (normally does) and that was agony so I immediately got back up again!

Pinklily1 · 01/02/2016 19:00

Sorry Mor, I was confusing Bunches scan picture with you!

Runner05 · 01/02/2016 19:01

Pink at my hospital you've got to take cash. I think you have to feed it into a machine to get the print. OH has done it a couple of times. £10 is insane but I guess they have you over a barrel Hmm

I think baby is having a growth spurt. The muscles in my tummy and back are killing me and I need to pee every 30 seconds. I did miraculously manage to only get up for one pee last night though Smile

mor I work in a lab for a pharmaceutical company so unfortunately there are times I could be exposed to things I'd rather not be. I'm pretty good at judging when to leave the lab etc but there's always risk of people working messily or spilling chemicals.

I am genuinely shocked you have to pay for scan photos!

BunchOfBobs · 01/02/2016 19:39

Pink we didn't have the cash so DH was going to have to run off to get cash out but then found a random fiver lurking in his wallet. They didn't take card at all but notes were fine as it was handed to the sonographer, not a machine.

Laurenrl · 02/02/2016 03:13

Morning sickness got me at 2.05 am this morning, not had nausea like that in years, starting to ease off after a 3am rice cracker. I'm only 5+2 this does not bode well!!
