We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Oh Miley I hope you are feeling better soon, I don't know any remedies and I've been SO lucky to not have any sickness extremely sore boobs though for 2+ weeks! Btw your post about you never feeling broody and being a party animal could've been written by me, I literally read it and thought shit she sounds just like me!
Hope all you ladies are doing ok today, good luck for the scans/appts coming up. I'm 6w tomorrow, been very lucky so far and felt fine apart from occasional fatigue and sore boobs. Keep on those crackers/ ginger biscuits girls Thanks

Mileymoocow · 15/02/2016 19:08

indi Glad to hear you're doing well Smile I hope you're one of the lucky ones! I'm rolling with it right now because I've heard it's a healthy sign. I can't help but feel a little nervous though, as my m/s started early compared to others so am now thinking maybe there are 2 in there!
Yes, always the one in work with a hangover and a daft story. They think I'm the same even now! Can't wait to see their faced when I tell them, they're never going to believe me without me pissing on a stick in front of them.

My boobs are sore still, too. I also have a lovely blue vein down the side of one which has just appeared.

Runner05 · 15/02/2016 19:14

Get used to the blue veins Miley my boobs haven't grown at all but they've got so many blue veins across them it's unreal!

When did your morning sickness start? Mine started a little before 6 weeks but all the women in my side of the family have had horrific morning sickness and it does run in families.

Sorry to hear so many people are still suffering.
What time is your scan tomorrow Runner? I'm sorry if we've scared you with the twin teasing. I'm sure you'll cope if it came to that.

Pinklily1 · 15/02/2016 19:19

Mine started around 6 weeks too. I hope there is only one baby in there!

Planeteer · 15/02/2016 19:46

Good luck for the scan tomorrow runner, fx for a happy healthy singleton.

Miley sorry you're feeling grim, lovely. Hope you find a foodstuff that'll keep it down to a dull roar. My friend swore by sour boiled sweets. Apparently concentrating on sucking something (ooh er) really helped.

Oriana I'm so sorry. Look after yourself Thanks

Planeteer · 15/02/2016 19:48

Gah. Flowers on wrong thread. Blush

LillianFullStop · 15/02/2016 20:36

Sorry for your loss oriana please look after yourself and your partner during this tough time. Please visit the mc boards on mn as it definitely helped me during mine last year

Newmrs22 · 15/02/2016 20:42

My belly has definitely popped out this week. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow. I feel quite weird and fat. I want it to be a proper bump so I don't just look a bit chubby. I cried yesterday because I thought I looked fat Blush

I felt sick again the past 2 days! I really thought it had gone.

runner I'm sure it's not twins, but if it is, you'll cope!

Morwenna1 · 15/02/2016 22:36

Good luck for tomorrow Runner!! Fx for you everything looks good Smile

Definitely feeling pregnant Bunch! So frustrating waiting for the letter for the all clear on the tests. Going to ring tomorrow and see if I can get an answer from them (long shot I know).

Mileymoocow · 16/02/2016 06:37

runner mine started at 5+4 and is progressively getting worse. I've been up since 3am puking my ring up and got a message off my grandma at 5 am to tell me my granda was rushed to hospital.

I'm taking the day off work but I feel very guilty about it.

LisaTheGreek · 16/02/2016 07:54

Oh no, Miley, I'm sorry about your grandfather. I hope he's ok.

I hear you on the sickness. I've been up vomming for a couple of hours now and it's just horrible. I then tried to eat a cracker when it calmed down a bit, but promptly threw it back up again Sad.

Hope yours has subsided a little x

Pinklily1 · 16/02/2016 08:18

Hope your Granda is ok Miley, and hope today goes well Runner

Fingers crossed everyone else feels better soon.

shelbTa · 16/02/2016 08:19

Good luck today runner!

Take it easy miley.

X

IrregularCommentary · 16/02/2016 08:33

Sorry to hear that Miley, you've obviously had a rough night from all directions. I hope the day and your Grandad improve x

Mileymoocow · 16/02/2016 10:21

Good luck for your scan runner! My grandma thinks it's his old ibd playing up but still waiting on results. Thanks for asking after my grandad ladies, you really are a lovely bunch!

I spewed in the kitchen sink whilst putting weetabix in the bowl but strangely enough felt loads better after I had been sick so managed to get them down! Small victories.

lisa and indi I think you're only a day or so behind me? I'm 6+1 today. We'll struggle through together!

Laurenrl · 16/02/2016 11:25

Oh miley! Sorry to hear about your horrible night and hope your grandad is ok!

I haven't had any sickness yet (7+3 today) but I heave all the time, at any bad smell at the thought of certain foods or the thought of things being old/mouldy/bad.

Have now had 4 sessions of spotting, 2 just brown dots once when wiping and 2 actual bleeds for about an hour (lighter than a period not enough for one pad) but I saw the baby and heartbeat after the first and the second was immediately after sex so I didn't worry too much as it stopped quickly. It is making it very hard to get too excited though!

Good luck for today runner! Even if it is twins you'd cope!!

Hope everyone's doing well xx

Nevlet · 16/02/2016 12:33

Sorry to hear there is so much sickness in our group now...I can't empathise as I have been so lucky not to get it but you all have my sincere sympathy - hope it all improves soon!
So I had to go out in a maternity dress last night I have the teeny tiniest actual belly and a huge amount of fat and bloat now and a normal dress was just too uncomfortable!

Morwenna1 · 16/02/2016 12:40

Sorry to hear about your Grandad Miley Hope he's on the mend and hope you don't feel too ill yourself!

Any news Runner? Hope it's all gone well Smile

So I decided I couldn't wait two weeks to get a letter and I rung up the screening department to see if I could get an answer. The nice ladies told me everything I needed to know - all v low risk for everything! So we can finally start telling extended family and friends! So anyone else who ends up waiting to find out if they are low risk for chromosome tests, just pick up the phone and see if you can find out earlier! They already know the answer within 3 days or so, so 2 weeks seems a really long time to wait. Bunch I don't know how long it will be till your midwife appointment, but why not give them a ring and see if they can tell you about Patau's and Edwards?

Just bought a maternity swimsuit ready for aquanatal classes :)

Anyone on here planning on doing any NCT courses? I've signed up for the Signature course (ahem, bit expensive!) but declined becoming a member or paying for anything else at this stage. My midwife recommended them and also I've heard they are good for making mummy friends in the area...going to do the free hospital ones as well.

IndiX · 16/02/2016 13:14

Miley I hope your grandad gets better soon and try to take it easy today. Glad you were able to keep your breakfast down.
How are you all ladies? Sorry to hear the sickness isn't subsiding.
So after yesterday saying I was so lucky to have no nausea or sickness, today I feel like shit. Nauseous, tired and hormonal...generally just feel crappy. I don't feel like I need to be sick but just like I need to burp a lot?! Fatigue isn't helping I guess. Going to try take it easy today, sending you all lots of virtual hugs and ginger biscuits xx

BunchOfBobs · 16/02/2016 13:28

Took your lead Mor and rang. Turns out they only test for DS here. (Wales) but they would have picked up any chromosome abo primarily as such so would be aware it there was a risk apparently Confused Edwards and Pataus both can be picked up on the abnormality scan though. I'm a bit confused but hey ho apparently I have nothing to worry about. Glad to hear you're results came back good.

Fx everything went well for Runner.

Morwenna1 · 16/02/2016 13:52

That's good then! They did explain to me here that Patau's and Edwards are very rare conditions, (I got a 1:102,000 chance!) so I don't think you need to worry, and at least you now know why you only got one set of test results back!

BunchOfBobs · 16/02/2016 14:02

Holy wow! There was me happy with

Runner05 · 16/02/2016 14:03

Back from the scan and all is well with the baby. He was jumping around like mad and determined to stay in the wrong position no mater how much the nurse poked him. In the end I kinda lifted myself into a bridge and wiggled my but to get him to shift, that did the job.
The neck fluid results were brilliant and I'll receive a call within 7 days if they have any concerns regarding the bloods (otherwise I'll get the all clear letter in 2 to 3 weeks).
Also the scan wasn't anywhere near as unpleasant as I expected, wasn't uncomfortable at all. The whole drink lots before you go thing was rubbish. I drank normally and had a wee before setting off.

The only not so good thing that came out of it was that she found a massive fibroid at the top of my womb (she kept telling me how impressively massive it is... Err, thanks? Hmm) it won't hurt the baby but I'm probably going to need consultant lead care and regular monitoring. Worse case scenario is that later in the pregnancy it will hurt (because the scar tissue won't stretch) and I might need a c-section but those run in my family anyway.
It does however explain why I look far more upduffed than I am and probably contributed to my morning sickness and my current discomfort. Oh well, at least now I know.

Anyway, here is my little potato playing an invisible jazz piano Wink

Great news Mor and Bunch, glad your tests came back ok. I love that you can properly start telling people and hopefully enjoying pregnancy.

Miley - also had Weetabix for breakfast , and only just managed to keep it down Grin. I need to try something new for breakfast I think. Any suggestions from sick people for something that's easy to eat and tends to stay down?

I'm 6+6 today. Feel like 7 weeks tomorrow is a bit of a landmark (I now really look forward to Wednesday as I reach my mini landmarks!)
