thread #2 - TTC#1 Grads, sick bags at the ready!

We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Great news Lauren

Indi I'm 4+4 today and have already consigned my new black skinny jeans to the back of the wardrobe because of bloating last night bad so bad I couldn't sit comfortably in them. These will be my target to get back into if everything goes well from here.

So I have cannon balls for boobs, can't make it through the night without needing a pee, get dizzy when I stand and vomited in tesco yesterday. Looks like I'm in for a bumpy ride if I'm getting symptoms this early!

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 09:49

indi oh yes I remember you saying! You lucky lady, it's £99 for us but I'm still tempted just to ease my anxiety.

co5mo wow, that is pretty harsh so early on!!! Just keep telling yourself it's all worth it

Co5mo · 08/02/2016 09:49

Oh and I spent 45 minutes trying to get through to my GPs surgery this morning. I can't book in to antenatal clinic or GP, I have to spend another 45 minutes tomorrow morning ringing them again to book in with the practice nurse for a book on the day double appointment. What's that all about? Good job I've got another week off work this week.

BunchOfBobs · 08/02/2016 10:00

Oh Lauren I'm so pleased for you. Could they see any reason for the bleed?

Runner when is your scan, I want to see if it's twins with you showing so early Wink

Mor are you excited for tomorrow, it's scan day isn't it?

Who else is due scans soon? I want to see more scan photos, I've memorised every detail of mine I've looked at it so often. 6 weeks today until my next.

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 10:01

Update: Nausea has started. Thought I was hungry, went to eat a banana and decided to throw up instead. I thought it was supposed to be 6 weeks?!

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2016 10:25

Anyone else getting smell sensitive? God knows what my colleague smells of this morning, but to me it's some kind of weird strong stale beer and flowers mix (this won't actually be true!)

I'm 5 weeks today.

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2016 10:26

Miley - didn't throw up this morning, but was retching like I was going to. Not feeling great today, and keep sneezing too.

shelbTa · 08/02/2016 10:40

Hi bunch! How you doing?

My scan is in a few weeks time.

Hang in there runner, you're doing really well.

X

Runner05 · 08/02/2016 10:47

Bunch my scan is next Tuesday. It will not be twins it had better not be!!

Irregular yes to the smell thing. And joy of joys it makes the sickness worse.

Miley sorry morning sickness has turned up early Sad

Thanks runner. Sorry to hear you couldn't sleep. Take it easy today!

Oh, twins run in my family and though I'm not dead set against it, I do kind of hope it's only 1 in there!

Co5mo · 08/02/2016 10:58

Irregular, I think it was smell that made me vomit in Tescos. I was bumbling along nicely without any symptoms other than cannon balls but I seem ok today.

BunchOfBobs · 08/02/2016 11:34

Hi Shelb waves.
I'm good thanks. Had a much better sleep last night at last. Hoping to resolve any other issues I have tomorrow at the Drs but we shall see. How are you?

Runner it would also explain the mega symptoms you've been having ..... Hmm

shelbTa · 08/02/2016 12:14

Yeah not too bad bunch thanks, glad all is well with you. Main thing for me is the burping - it's ALL the time. My mood swings are pretty psycho too now!

Runner - we all had a discussion on twins way back in the day didn't we, did you say you had them in your family or was that someone else?

X

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2016 12:27

Lauren, so happy to hear all is well xx

Laurenrl · 08/02/2016 12:44

Thanks everyone

Not real reason given bunch, they said its normal, could be from the placenta starting to embed or from the edge of it our could be because of my ovarian cyst but she said it doesn't matter really as there's no haemorrhage or anything & they don't want to see me again until 12 so I've booked a private scan at 9 to help myself stay calm.

Very relieved

Sorry for everyone getting major symptoms, I'm very queezy in a morning and heave a lot but once I force myself to eat it usually goes. Very metallic taste and tender boobs. Still early though so time to develop into full sickness!!!

Laurenrl · 08/02/2016 12:45

Also was secretly hoping it may be twins as they run in my family too, but more than happy there is one in there!

BunchOfBobs · 08/02/2016 13:01

I had twins that run in my family Shelb. But I have a memory of discussing it with Runner too.

Nevlet · 08/02/2016 13:12

lauren so pleased to read your news this morning!
Sorry that a lot of us seem to be really suffering the symptoms.

Follow up appointment at drs today about migraines/possible UTI - she is pretty sure infection gone but sent sample to lab to double check. We had an ummm robust discussion about me going back to work and for some crazy reason even though she wanted to sign me off till half term for the headaches I refused so am going back tomorrow....what have I done?! Haha!

Runner05 · 08/02/2016 16:35

Nope, no twins in my family thank goodness and my sister was like this with both of hers so I'm hoping it's just a family thing.

Bunch Yep, scan tomorrow! It's felt like an age to get to this point...I'm 13 weeks today, and I have a hot jalapeno in there apparently! How are you feeling? My energy is returning, I don't feel so out of breath walking up the stairs anymore!

Lauren That is brilliant news! So pleased everything is ok. Smile If you're ever worried in the future (Fx you won't be!), don't wait to speak to someone, or worry about bothering people - it's best to get yourself checked out pronto.

IndiX That's interesting that you're going to tell people after the 8 weeks. I had a private early scan at 8+5, but no one knows still apart from close family (had to tell them over Christmas!) and now my managers because of a work related issue. Have you decided what you'll do about the screening then at 12 weeks? Personally I'm waiting till I get the all clear from that before anyone else knows.

Co5mo You'll find that all NHS Trusts do things differently. Apart from my midwife (who I hope I'll come across again!) I am less than impressed so far. The hospital had got v good reviews though, so hopefully things will improve! Will let you know how the scan goes tomorrow!

You never know Runner it could be triplets! Wink

LisaTheGreek · 08/02/2016 18:36

Mor, that's so exciting about your scan tomorrow! Hope it goes well, and can't believe you're 13 weeks!

How are you feeling these days?

BunchOfBobs · 08/02/2016 18:50

Hi Mor. Glad I remembered right. Please post a photo. I'm 13+2 so you never know we may be due date buddies after your scan Smile

I've had a really good day - apart from nearly ruining my sofa cushions by washing them- that's a whole other thread I've posted on. I had a good sleep, and feel energised and finally can figure out a juggling pain I've had is associated with growing uterus- it's felt so like a full bladder pain the last few days.
Any signs of showing yet? I can feel a definite hardening just above my public bone.

Any one else showing get?

Pinklily1 · 08/02/2016 18:56

So happy for you Lauren, that's excellent news!

Sorry to hear a few more lovely ladies are getting caught by the nausea/sickness monster. It's not pleasant but I just hold onto the hope that it will pass at 12 weeks.

Surely at least one of us on here must be expecting twins?! I've no idea what the odds are but I like be idea of twins (in theory, not in real life!).

My scan is two weeks tomorrow. I can't wait!

Shelb, are you getting reflux too?

IndiX · 08/02/2016 19:11

Good luck for your scan tomorrow mor, I haven't decided whether to tell absolutely everyone we know at 8 weeks but at the moment immediate family know and my next door neighbour ( as she would've noticed me not drinking) and I'm 4+6. I think sometimes NOT telling people is like waiting for something bad to happen, I completely understand wanting to wait to tell people but the people I have told would be very supportive and even if the worst did happen i know I personally would want as much support as possible.

Newmrs22 · 08/02/2016 19:41

I've been catching up like mad. Thank goodness there's some good news. Glad everything's ok lauren

Good luck tomorrow Mor. Mines on Thursday. So excited. Even though I saw a heartbeat at 9 weeks I'm still nervous!
