thread #2 - TTC#1 Grads, sick bags at the ready!

We've finally got our BFPs and have started on the long winding road of pregnancy.

Most of us are starting, within, or just leaving the first trimester where bloating, unexplained discharge and constant nausea are watchwords of the day!

We're battling NHS inconsistencies, trying not to kill our midwives and desperately looking for a magic morning sickness cure... It's TTC#1 grads!!!

Just popping on here after last night - Lauren I'm so pleased you've had positive feedback, and fingers crossed for the scan tomorrow. Not quite sure why they suggested ringing NHS direct FFS?! The midwife suggested that? NHS Direct is not be relied on at the best of times! Glad you went in and got seen to!

Thinking of you Patches Flowers xx

OK, glad I haven't googled back pain....resists urge I wouldn't say it's extreme, just annoying.

Hi Co5mo!Congrats on your BFP, and welcome to the crazy world of being pregnant.

Runner Sorry about your Mum, but it sound's like she is in a good place Smile

Choc Sounds like you're had right time of it, but glad you're in a better place now Smile I'm still drinking lots, but not as much as in the beginning.

Miley It's normal to be thirsty!! Step away from the computer! Wink

Bunch Glad to hear things are well apart from the insomnia! I haven't been waking through the night, but my bladder gets me up first thing in the morning...

I'm so impatient for Tuesday (scan day). Can I ask, is everyone planning on telling the world immediately after their 12 week scan, or (for those who are having screening tests) are you going to wait until you have the all clear from those as well? I think if I'm high risk and me and DH have some difficult decisions to make I'd rather I didn't then have to "un-tell" people if that makes sense. (We honestly don't know what we'd do in that circumstance).

sophied1983 · 07/02/2016 13:46

Hugs to those of you going through difficult times.

I have gone from no appetite to wanting to eat everything in sight.

Had toast and Marmite for brekkie, then strawberries and yoghurt and wanted a third breakfast by 11:30am. Took myself for a massive walk to distract myself.

Am 9 weeks today.

Danni89 · 07/02/2016 14:02

We are due date buddies sophie I'm 9 weeks today too!

I agree Mor think I'll wait for the all clear first, so maybe start telling people about 14 weeks.

Just booked baby show tickets! Not sure if I'll buy anything yet but the looking around will be exciting Smile

Great news to hear Lauren fingers crossed for tomorrow x

shelbTa · 07/02/2016 15:06

Good news Lauren.

Runner that's really tough, you're doing really well to hold it all together.

Pink - on exercise I did some this morning, an hours walk with a reasonable incline round some hills and I was totally out of breath and ruined afterwards!! Really need to get back into it once the nausea has gone....any day now, right?

X

Pinklily1 · 07/02/2016 17:35

I like to think it will be any day now Shelb! How's your nausea been recently?

shelbTa · 07/02/2016 17:52

Up and down pink to be honest, I was in bed with it yesterday I felt so rough. How are you - on the up? X

Pinklily1 · 07/02/2016 18:27

Pretty up and down too to be honest. Some days I think I'm improving and then others not so much! It's a roller coaster!

Runner05 · 07/02/2016 18:46

I'll reluctantly join that ride ladies. This morning I thought it was going to be a good day. Two bouts of sickness later and feeling like crap, I'm no longer so sure Hmm

Omg the bloat is real!!!! I am HUGE, after my evening meal granted I haven't eaten well the last 2 days but doesn't rally matter what I eat I look easily 5/6months pregnant and I'm only 4+5!!! Please say there are some other massive bloaters out there! I can't believe how big I look, I have IBS so I'm used to bloating but this is something else.

BunchOfBobs · 07/02/2016 22:15

I think we're all massive bloaters Indi. I've been in maternity trousers since week 8 because of it!!

Chocaholic88 · 07/02/2016 22:48

I'm a size 4 and have had massive bloating but mainly in the evenings... crazy isn't it! I'm at an awards ceremony in central London tomorrow night for work and hope my very fitted dress doesn't get me into trouble! Lol

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 05:55

Ok I have a question. Has anyone else's sex drive increased 100000x? I've always had a high one anyway but I can't get enough of my OH! I woke him up at 5 am for some this Blush plus the big O is so much more intense. Feel like I'm turning into a sex crazed lunatic

Chocaholic88 · 08/02/2016 07:00

Haha you're not alone miley ... me too!! ;)

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 07:30

Excellent, glad it's not just me 😂 he's gone to work with a smile on his face and I'm exhausted after waking up at 3am again.

Sure the sex drive will be hindered by morning sickness soon.

Ovia has just nudged me to tell that my poppy seed is now a peppercorn Grin

Pinklily1 · 08/02/2016 07:40

Make the most of it whilst there is no sickness Miley! We haven't DTD for weeks because I feel so ropey Hmm

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2016 07:48

Not sure on sex drive Miley, I seem to be on mood swings this morning. Dh knocked over the glass of water by my side of the bed and grumbled at me for leaving it there. I positively snarled about "what the fuck I'm supposed to do when I'm constantly fucking thirsty" (It's not at all normal for me to sound so mean towards him!)

Then, I promptly burst into tears because I'd been such a bitch.

IrregularCommentary · 08/02/2016 07:52

His response incidentally was to give me a big hug, tell me he loves me and went to get me more water, so well done dh.

shelbTa · 08/02/2016 08:42

Enjoy miley! Even the thought of **ck recently has made want to throw up, poor OH!

X

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 08:55

irregular brilliant. It's nice your DH is understanding though.

I have so much cm too. It's disgusting, I'm constantly feeling wet. May start wearing a pad soon.

I'll definitely enjoy it whole it lasts because it sounds as though it's not sticking round for long.

indi I already look 6 months pregnant because of the bloating. I'm struggling to fasten my work pants

Laurenrl · 08/02/2016 09:13

I just saw my baby and their little heartbeat flickering away on the screen. DP almost fell of his seat and went bright white, neither of us were expecting it. What a roller coaster!

IndiX · 08/02/2016 09:17

God, I'm glad there's other bloaters out there!
Oh Lauren was it magical? Was that your 8 or 12 week? I'm so excited for my 8 week!!

Mileymoocow · 08/02/2016 09:22

lauren what fab news!!! I'm so glad all is ok GrinFlowers

indi do you get an 8 week scan? We have to pay if we want one

Laurenrl · 08/02/2016 09:22

I'm 6 weeks indi, heavy bleed and clot on Saturday morning so was seen early. I wouldn't say it was magical as I was so sure it would be bad news I was really worked up, and a woman had a scanner up my vagina so....hopefully next time will be!

Runner05 · 08/02/2016 09:29

Indi I put on 2 dress sizes by week 6 and was in maternity clothes by week 8. Currently finishing the first trimester looking like I'm finishing the second Confused

Lol Miley I think the increased sex drive is normal. But like Pink says, the morning sickness scuppers any frisky ideas... My OH is desperate for me to get over it!

Yay! Lauren glad you have a happy bean. Grin

I'm shattered today. Despite going to bed early and being tired I kept waking up and worrying about my mum which is silly. She's in the best place and likes her new home I'm just worry Hmm

OP posts:
IndiX · 08/02/2016 09:39

Oh god yeah Lauren, oh I am so glad you have a happy little baby in there. I'm sure next time will be less stressful and hopefully less intrusive.
Miley yes it's only £39 for an 8 week scan so thought why not, I just want to hear a heartbeat. I don't think I could wait until 12 weeks, plus I think I'll need to announce it early stops friends asking to book weekends away or social events that involved drinking!
