Mini 9 week bump or bloat? Am I wishful thinking?! DH says it's just chocolate...

FrazzleRock · 28/01/2016 08:16

kitkat you're nine weeks! That's a baby bump, or at least a uterus bump! I was pretty rounded by 6/7 weeks with DS2. Tell your DH HE'S just chocolate Wink

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 08:20

Hahaha, well I'm 8+4 by my dates but 9+2 according to mw dates at booking in. I guess the scan will say for sure. Ok, I'm glad you agree I'm not just fat. It can't be sucked or held in, I've tried ;)

Stumpysmum · 28/01/2016 08:56

Ooh I haven't heard of Lucina kitkat. We got a good deal for the harmony which was £400 including viability scan, harmony blood test and 12 week nuchal scan and blood test. The nuchal scan and blood test will repeat the NHS tests but we felt it was a good package to get. Some places are so pricey!

I got my booking in date too, finally. 3rd Feb which is not long at all :)

Stumpysmum · 28/01/2016 08:58

Oh and that's a baby bump for sure :)

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 10:17

I trawled back through the first thread - can you tell I'm WFH today?! pinkypurplystar set up a fb group for us, but I've searched and can't find it. It was 'mums and bumps Sept 2016' don't know if she deleted or just didn't get round to it - I don't think she's posted here for a while.

FrazzleRock · 28/01/2016 10:23

globetrotter2016 Yeah I still don't know if I'll be brave enough to wear it! I just want it for times when I'm feeling really dizzy and shattered. I am worried I'll see another parent on the tube or a colleague, as one lives near me. It's ok in the mornings as I always get a seat. It's the evenings when it's packed and it's 13 stops on the northern line from mine.

I should probably grow a pair. I imagine when I'm huge I'll be even more tired and dizzy and I'll have a badge by then...

wornoutboots · 28/01/2016 12:12

nearlyu 40 isn't old, bubu

I'm 41 and don't intend being old yet!

Unreliablepat · 28/01/2016 12:26

Wow, that is definitely a bump, kitkat!

I can definitely see why you would want a seat in early pregnancy but I remember not wearing the badge in case I saw a colleague. I didn't really need it in the second tri and then by the time I got to third tri people were good about getting up without prompting. One time I was on a really crowded carriage with a load of scary looking Chelsea fans and they all cleared a path through the carriage to get me a seat. I was embarrassed but very grateful!

I've got my first GP appointment tomorrow which is required at my docs before I can see the MW. Still hardly any symptoms apart from not really fancying a lot of foods. It's not that they make me nauseous, I just don't feel tempted by anything much, even chocolate. If I could bottle this feeling I could make millions in the dieting market!

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 28/01/2016 12:47

kitkat if you can't suck it in its definitely a bump :)

I'm 5+6 and feeling sooo bloated, I keep rubbing my bloat and then realising I'm supposed to be keeping it a secret at work!

FrazzleRock · 28/01/2016 13:05

kitkat I'm pretty sure I have a photo of my bump at 9 weeks when preg with either DS1 or 2. I'll dig it out later and post on here. I'm sure I was huge!

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 13:08

Third baby and my stomach muscles are obviously destroyed then to have a mini bump already. Makes me feel a bit better about the lack of symptoms, but still can't wait for that early scan tomorrow!

pat I'm like that, no significant symptoms but I'm not fancying much in the way of food. I've refused desserts a lot recently because I just don't want them (not usual for me) and I can't decide what to make for tea at the moment - I can eat but nothing grabs me. This has been going on for a while - I also wish I felt like this normally - perfect diet mindset!

I agree - 40 is not old - I'm not that far away myself...

That's a dilemma frazzle comfort over outing yourself? How likely is it that you'll see someone you know?

thats I was so bloated a couple of weeks ago but it becomes bump very quickly! Peppermint tea seemed to help?

bananamonkey · 28/01/2016 13:53

Is anyone having any brain-related symptoms? I keep forgetting things and this morning I forgot my colleague's name for a good 10 minutes, I speak to her every day and interviewed her as well Blush I also have an annoying eye twitch which I had just before I tested.

Annarose2014 · 28/01/2016 13:57

Another 40 yr old here!

Just got my booking in letter. 16th March when I'll be 13 wks. Hmm

Newtothevillage · 28/01/2016 14:03

Yes Banana!! Oh my goodness i thought i was going mad. I can't remember a thing and usually i have a great memory. Plus, earlier today i had to fill my glass of water up at work and walked to the toilet instead of the kitchen. Baby brain has hit me big time.

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 14:16

Yes banana ridiculous, stupid mistakes like forgetting I put something in the oven, forgetting to turn off said oven after remembering the (slightly burnt) food and then realising an hour later because the kitchen feels unusually warm... It's so annoying!

OTheHugeManatee · 28/01/2016 14:17

I've definitely got a bit of a bump too. Though I have a large fibroid (Gladys, 10cmx10cm) already so between Gladys and the uterus growing I think I'm entitled to a small bump at 9wks Grin

Booking in next week for me. I'm massively on edge this week because last year I had a MC at 9wks but so far all seems OK.

Symptoms so far for me have been morning and evening nausea, chronic lethargy and - just in the last couple of days - an obsessive need to eat macaroni cheese Confused I have lots of leftovers to eat in the fridge but I don't want them. I want macaroni cheese.

WIBU to just make some macaroni cheese?

frannie2013 · 28/01/2016 14:18

Can I join? DD 15/9!

Stumpysmum · 28/01/2016 14:23

I have developed an obsession with Cadbury's giant buttons, can't get enough of them. I'm wondering if I'm carrying another girl as my cravings and symptoms are the same as last time, massively sweet tooth, complete oversion to meat or anything healthy. And I am so so thirsty all the time. Jeans are definitely getting tighter :)

I'd be interested in joining the FB group too kitkat if there is one. I'm still on my June 2014 group which migrated over to FB in the end

OTheHugeManatee · 28/01/2016 14:27

Has someone started a FB group? I'm in if so Smile

Stumpy I've got the same aversion to meat, and a much sweeter than usual tooth. Normally I can go from one month to the next without chocolate, but at the moment I want it EVERY DAY And SOOOO thirsty.

Re balanced diet, I'm just taking the view that I'll eat my multivitamin and go back to salads and shiz when the nausea abates.

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 14:31

Shall I set one up then? I think they can be private so no one on your friends can see you're in it or what you post?

Kitkatmonster · 28/01/2016 14:39

Lol manatee yanbu. Have the macaroni cheese!

nailsathome · 28/01/2016 14:46

I want macaroni cheese!!!

Stumpysmum · 28/01/2016 14:51

Absolutely manatee my healthy diet (well what there was of one) is out the window until this nausea business passes. For now, I'm embracing the Cadbury's Chocolate

kitkat it would be great if you could set up a FB group, I'm not completely sure how you do it but our June one is secret (not just closed) so it is completely hidden. it does not show up on your page or anything and nobody can see you are a member, people cannot search for the group either. you have to be invited to join. I think people that want to join send the administrator their e-mail address and the administrator can send them an invite to join. I think!

bananamonkey · 28/01/2016 14:59

Mmm macaroni cheese. I've got real hankering for salty savoury foods which is weird because I normally have a super sweet tooth. I'm even finding grapes too sweet Confused
