Anyone else getting prickly, stabby pain in their pubic area/ovary area? I have it most of the time and have for weeks now. I'm 11+1 today. Was told it's probably the pregnancy cyst but was wondering if anyone is suffering?
Hard to know what's 'normal'.

balalalala · 19/02/2016 13:04

I've had that but it only seems to last a couple of seconds at a time and only a few times a day so not sure if it's the same thing?

Sausage2229 · 19/02/2016 13:14

Yeah sounds similar. Stabs for couple of seconds. Seems to be there all the time but I think that's cos I'm thinking about it!!

lostindevon · 19/02/2016 20:48

Placemarking

Sausage2229 · 20/02/2016 20:22

It's all gone very quiet! I was thinking about going to a baby show. The next one is at the NEC in May. Has anyone been to one? Is it worth it financially or is it just confusing and tiring?

balalalala · 20/02/2016 20:35

I was thinking about that one too, but have no knowledge of whether they're any good! I was also planning a John Lewis nursery appointment!

SockQueen · 20/02/2016 20:42

Might be tempted nearer the time - I loved wedding fairs when I was getting married - but at the moment I feel too grotty to plan anything non-essential. Envy

Sharesinpampers · 20/02/2016 21:29

Not been to one, sounds fun when not feeling bleugh. First time round we used the online Which report to help choose car seat, monitor etc. Independent reviews on safety etc, we found it pretty good. Not sure if you still can but you used to be able to get 1 month subscription for £1.

Did anyone watch Ant & Dec tonight? Totally love their show but cried when the couple got engaged. Bloomin pregnancy hormones!

Kitkatmonster · 20/02/2016 22:18

A word of warning re baby show, I have been to one before and it was a total waste of time. Lots of stalls trying to flog you things you can totally live without, but make you question whether you can. There's no great advice to be had as they are all trying to sell their own stuff. It didn't sit well with me, I thought it was exploitative of new parents to be honest.

Sausage2229 · 20/02/2016 22:24

That's what I worry about. Don't want to go all the way there from Cornwall to find it a waste of time! I hate pushy sales people too!!

sophied1983 · 21/02/2016 09:15

I went with a pregnant friend last year to the Baby Show in London. She was specifically looking at reuseable nappies, so it's good if you've got something specific in mind, plus we looked at the buggy she was thinking of buying... but I'd say just to go and walk around with no particular purpose, might just mean you end up spending loads of money on things you don't really need if that makes sense?

Sharesinpampers · 21/02/2016 09:20

Ah, hello maternity jeans! Bump has been released Smile

Annarose2014 · 21/02/2016 10:28

I'm only 10 wks but already have "a lovely bump" according to my MIL. Hmm

It's my 2nd pregnancy in just over a year but I'm still a bit taken aback at showing this early and am a bit self conscious.

Yesterday I pulled out my old Primark maternity skinnies with a thick elastic waistband. Good god they were a waste of money. They fall down constantly. Avoid!

I bought an over the bump pair last Wk but it's obviously too early for them so I'm in "jeans limbo" already! Better get the yoga pants out...

kimblesj · 21/02/2016 11:21

My constant sickness has now disappeared and has been replaced with a constant need for food!

ohanami · 21/02/2016 14:42

I was definitely rocking the "is she fat or pregnant" look at the pool today. It's hard to hide the bloat/bump in a swimming costume, but I'm pretty sure most people thought I'd just been overingdulging. I'm determined to stay in my normal jeans for as long as I did first time round though... even if it means I can't sit down Grin

kimbles I've been eating anything in sight for the last couple of weeks (apart from fruit and veg. I'm having to retrain myself to eat it)

Had a horrific migraine at the end of the week which really scared me. I was trying to buy some food (which usually helps) but couldn't make the right words come out of my mouth. When I spoke to the midwife about it later she said pregnancy occasionally makes them worse so to be prepared to get more before September Sad

zeeka · 21/02/2016 14:44

sausage I went to the nec baby show years ago and it was rubbish. You'd be better off going to john lewis or some other department store. I was annoyed by the wasted journey and I lived in Birmingham at the time so it was about 20 minutes down the road!

FellOutOfBedTwice · 21/02/2016 14:48

Can I join please? I've had some worries with a tear in the placenta so didn't want to jinx things but had a healthy 12 week scan on Thursday and am starting to feel this is happening now.

I'm 11+6 and new baby due 5.9.16. I have a DD already who is 19 months.

BaggyPantz · 21/02/2016 23:22

Yep, bump here too that started poking out at about 7 weeks! To the point I'm hoping we only see one in there tomorrow!

Have been living in joggers and leggings almost 24/7!

Appetite is insatiable too Confused

balalalala · 22/02/2016 07:44

Good luck with your scan today baggy, I'm so nervous about mine.

I've still been wearing my normal clothes but the jeans are pretty uncomfortable with bloat. I discovered a whole world of comfort by leaving the top button undone and securing it on to the whole with a hairband! Well I say it's bloat, but with the amount of chocolate I've been eating it's hard to say for sure!

wineandcheeseplease · 22/02/2016 07:47

I had my scan last week. Everything went well and we got some brilliant photos. 12 weeks today!!

genome · 22/02/2016 08:04

I got out my old pair of maternity jeans this weekend too. So comfy! I'm going to have to tell work this week I think as floaty tops are not going to cover it for much longer. I'm a bit nervous, only as this will be my third maternity leave in five years of working in this lab Blush.
I've gone off food again after feeling better. I can't decide what I want to eat! I keep making things for DH and the kids and then just picking at my portion. Although I did eat an impressive amount of roast chicken last night Grin

And good luck to you too balalalala - it's so nerve wracking, isn't it! I'm just glad mine is in the morning so not too much longer to wait.

wineandcheese - so glad to hear all went well. Bet you can relax a bit more now.

genome - I've found that if I leave it too late to have breakfast, I start feeling a bit sicky, then find it difficult to eat anything, as oppose to wanting to eat everything!

Got a real thing for tangy and vinegary foods at the moment. Has anyone else's cravings started?

sophied1983 · 22/02/2016 09:08

Mine is anything with a really strong fruit taste - whether that's actual fruit, or fruit sweets. Bizarre!

Lilliana · 22/02/2016 09:37

I'm also trying to stay in my jeans although one pair is already getting a bit tight.
White magnum ice creams are my saviour at the moment so probably not helping the jean situation!!

Not been to any baby shows but sounds like a nightmare! I'm hoping not to have to spend too much - a new mattress and bed for DD are the main things. Luckily DD doesn't use the buggy any more so don't need a twin or anything. I'm sure I'll add more to my list though!

sophied1983 · 22/02/2016 10:28

Just looking over the form I have to fill out to let work know... out of interest, what gap are you taking between finishing work and your due date?
