Hi all, I haven't posted for aaages, but I've been lurking and seeing how you're all getting on.

I've had a couple of scares this week. On Thursday morning, I had some brown spotting, and tried not to worry, but at about 8 o'clock on Thursday night, I had 2-3 drops of bright red blood and panicked. I called EPAU, who said that they did want to see me, but didn't do self-referrals, so I had to call NHS 111, who referred me after a quick telephone consultation, and I was booked in for a scan for this morning.

For some reason, my scan pic won't post, but we saw the baby wriggling away and punching the air! They have measured it at 22mm and so dated me 8+6, with an EDD of 11th September. Has anyone else got this due date?

Just wanted to check in and maybe reassure those of you who are having bleeding. Sausage you are definitely not bothering anyone- even if you call your local EPAU, they are lovely and will talk to you over the phone and give advice.

Also, for those of you worried about lack of symptoms. I only had a week and a half of nausea and sickness and that disappeared a week ago, with nothing since. Mind you, I have had an awful cold, cough and runny nose, so maybe my body has been distracted by this? The only constant symptom I've had is sore boobs- they've been there from the beginning.

I will try and post more often now that I know this is actually happening! Smile

September 2016 (Thread 2) Booking in and 12 weeks scans soon!
Sharesinpampers · 06/02/2016 21:36

Loving the scan pictures! Sausage and anyone else going through a difficult time hope you're ok. I don't think anyone would question you getting back in touch, it's not bothering them. I was talking to two doctor friends recently about a trip I took to the GP which afterwards I felt was unnecessary. They said they would rather see patients and reassure them than not, so don't worry.

Sharesinpampers · 06/02/2016 21:38

And, I've decided the early part of pregnancy is like a bush tucker trial. Nothing looks or smells appetising but you know you've got to eat it. And once you manage to consume something you're hoping it will stay down!

I miss enjoying food....

peardrop2 · 06/02/2016 22:24

Soooo EnvyEnvyGrinGrin of all the lovely scan photos flooding in!! I still have 6 sleeps until mine. However, at least I have a date!

Haven't been able to find a suitable babysitter so it looks like DH will miss out if they don't let him have a look in with DS at the end Sad Hopefully as I'll only be 11 weeks we might get another scan at 12 weeks so we might get a second chance to find a sitter.

DS is struggling to settle tonight so I went upstairs to cuddle him and really felt a scary sharp pain on my left pelvis area. Hopefully nothing to worry about but I hate scares like this Confused

On a happier note I asked DH to bring down the two limited boxes of maternity clothes that I own. Found a couple of suitable small tops to wear for the next couple of weeks. Also found my first maternity bras from my last pregnancy and boy do they feel good! Can't believe I'm in them already Shock

icklekid · 07/02/2016 06:16

So jealous of all your scans and hope all is ok sausage and others with bleeding scares. I'm still awaiting scan date...

pear I hardly bought any maternity clothes last time and ended up stretching lots which then got rid of (mainly tops from breastfeeding to be fair!). Have already treated myself to some new stuff from gap ☺

Nice to see who is still doing well and can console each other suffering from sickness!

peardrop2 · 07/02/2016 07:05

Ooooo ickle what did you get? I'm looking at the gap t- shirts but can't get downstairs to my wallet until the household wakes up Grin

balalalala · 07/02/2016 08:09

Lovely photo Eskimo!

halloweensquish · 07/02/2016 09:25

Placemarking! Just found out I'm 8 weeks pregnant with squish no.2......we were actively not trying so this is pressure on an already fracturious relationship (I wish they told you how much of a toll having a baby is on the relationship side!!) EDD 13th Sept. Looking forward to my 15 month old having a little brother or sister.....now just need to wean her off the boob Shock

SockQueen · 07/02/2016 09:51

I'm due 11th Sept eskimo! Glad your scan was ok.

Have had my "12 week" scan appoinment through, it's not till March 7th which seems aaaaages - and I'll be 13+1.

icklekid · 07/02/2016 10:01

pear got 2 best tops that are fab and also this shirt dress but think going to return as but tight on the shoulders and tad long (short ass but aware will be shorter with bump) ohh can't decide dress

Annarose2014 · 07/02/2016 10:20

Welcome halloween, sorry its stressful for you at the moment. Wine

Anyone else having terrible breathlessness? Google tells me its progesterone related. I'm gasping after just going up the stairs! How awful this pregnancy lark is. Everything is unneccessarily hard! why do we have to get breathless this early?? Its ridiculous!

ohanami · 07/02/2016 10:52

anna yes to the breathlessness - I noticed it yesterday for the first time after doing the hoovering and spent the rest of the day googling it. It's a horrible feeling isn't it?

I seem to have popped since Friday night - definite little bump there now. I told my mum yesterday and she said she'd already guessed because my waist has got so much "thicker". I'm only 10 weeks - going to have to do something creative with work clothes to keep quiet about it for a few more weeks.

Welcome Halloween. I'm totally with you that babies should come with a major relationship warning. If it's any reassurance, 15 months was the point where things turned a corner for me - dd started sleeping more and feeding less and we were able to get away as a family for a few days which really helped us to move on from the newborn chaos.

balalalala · 07/02/2016 10:54

Yes, horrendous breathlessness. I keep have to keep having a sit down half way round walking the dog. Even talking takes it out of me!

nailsathome · 07/02/2016 11:16

Anna breathlessness is my main early pregnancy symptom - I get it within a week of conception. I'm currently sitting on the sofa feeling guilty for doing nothing while dp does the housework but if I stand up I can't breathe and feel like I'm going to throw up and pass out.

I think this is my last pregnancy, I can't do this again!

Annarose2014 · 07/02/2016 12:05

I've just had a minor panic attack that I'm not pregnant at all after realising that progesterone suppositories which I'm on, mimic the vast amount of the symptoms of early pregnancy. AND stop you getting a period.

I did get 3 positive tests initially but am now half convinced its a mmc and the baby has just not stuck.

And of course I still cant find a heartbeat on my doppler - 8+1 but its a bloody good doppler! I keep finding my own, which then starts to race with anxiety and I get all hopeful its the baby but I dont think it is. Sad

The progesterone suppositories are AWFUL, they are disgusting and whilst the hormone absorbs, the gel that carries it doesnt, so it'll build up in your fanjo and if you dont scoop the excess gel out manually, after a few days it'll plop out on your knickers like a lump of cottage cheese. I'm not squeamish, but its Traumatising me hugely. Cant even think about DTD (which I miss terribly) because apparently its incredibly messy for your partner.

4 more weeks of the gel and I've no booking in appt or scan till Wk 13. So no reassurance I'm actually pregnant till then. And I have visions of them not finding anything after all this.

I am absolutely petrified its the gel causing all these symptoms as it does cause a lot - the internet is littered with poor IVF girls who took it to conceive and got all excited cos they "felt pregnant" and AF was delayed.....but it was the gel tricking them. Once they stopped using the gel, AF appeared and they were crushed.

My one slim hope is my continuous morning sickness, which supposedly is caused by hcg, not progesterone.

I'm going into the GP tomorrow morning for my two-yearly smear - would I be mad to ask her to do a pregnancy test?

0hCrepe · 07/02/2016 12:17

You've had positive tests though! I think most of us are finding it hard to really believe. Do another test if you're really concerned. Definitely talk it through with GP tomorrow.

Sausage2229 · 07/02/2016 14:17

Anna you can't have a smear test when your pregnant. That's what my midwife told me when I booked in x

peardrop2 · 07/02/2016 14:39

Ickle - I like the dress Smile However, return it if you're not sure as you'll kick yourself later if you don't and there will always be something else to purchase down the line! I did end up buying 4 casual tops in the end.

MimiDoddrioni · 07/02/2016 15:00

Anna, I'm on progesterone pessaries too. They can delay your period slightly when you first start taking them but they can't stop it and they won't prevent a MC from happening. They also can't give you a BFP, so congratulations! Smile.

I agree they're damn messy, I've been bulk buying bodyform to deal with it.

Annarose2014 · 07/02/2016 16:07

sausage I didn't know that! Well that's ok, I'll use the appt to get some reassurance.

How are you by the way? I feel a bit bad having a wobble when you have spotting.

mimi it's so good to know I'm not alone with those horrid things! How long do you have to use them? Till 12 wks like me? How do you feel? I just wish I could separate the Crinone symptoms out entirely. Have you had your scan?

MimiDoddrioni · 07/02/2016 17:15

Anna until 12 wks too, but my consultant said I could stop as new evidence suggests that they don't prevent MC. I've carried on regardless as I have a cupboard full of them. I've had reassurance scans but pg is uncertain viability at the moment, I've mainly been hanging out on the pg after mc thread but have been lurking in the hope that LO will hang on in there. Just wanted to post as fellow progesterone taker.

Sausage2229 · 07/02/2016 18:20

Hey Anna it's ok. Don't worry! I'm fine. My new tactic is pretending I'm not pregnant (that way if I do MC then I won't be as upset). Not sure it's going to work but it's worth a try at the moment!! Hmm

genome · 07/02/2016 22:04

I'm suffering today! We took the kids to see the Chinese New year parade in town and, between the walking and lifting 13 kg of wiggly child up, I've done my back/hips in. I'm walking around like a shuffling John Wayne...I hope it gets better tomorrow!
So jealous of all these scan pictures, less than two weeks until mine Grin

Back from 4 days in Prague for mine and DHs wedding anniversary. Just had a read through from where I left of and great to see all these clear scan pics already! Booked the Prague trip April last year so getting the surprise that I'm pregnant 2 days before we were due to go changed our outlook on it a bit but still had a great time. Had another tiny bleed while I was out there so still in denial that I actually have a small thing in me (still struggling to think or imagine or even say there's a 'baby' in there). Came home and I've had my anti natal endocrine referral and appointment through. Still waiting for a mw appointment though and considering I may be 8 or 12 weeks I'd have thought that should be soon but if my GP track record is owt to go by I may spend the next week or so chasing it up myself.
