I'm pretty bad this morning as well. The frustrating thing is that I cant actually vomit. I've tried but no joy at all. I'd feel so much better if I could just get it up! Instead I'm all sicky and wobbly for hours.

I wont be doing FB. I prefer the anonymity here. Last time around the thread suddenly had all of a sudden as everyone decamped to FB but actually whilst it was a bit sad it certainly made it easier to follow. We all got a good bit closer as only a quarter of us were left!

Have to get more progesterone pessaries today in the chemist. Hate hate hate them with a passion, and 5 more weeks of it!

Updated as my private early scan changed my EDD! All fine so I have to try and accept I'm 'lucky' this time and just don't have symptoms. No idea what sex it can be - especially as I have one of each and although they were different pregnancies I was not symptomless with either! I'll try and keep track of mn and fb - I just find fb so much easier to check and catch up with :)

nailsathome · 29/01/2016 10:41

I'm glad everything's fine kitkat, are you feeling better about it?

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 10:41

Yes fifi I wish I could give it to you. What a pain in the arse for youAngry I'd keep calling them if I were you. Not fair to leave you hanging.

I've now changed my scan to the 14th March which is much more like it. I'll be 12+1 then.

I'm addicted to cheese and tomato sarnies at the moment. It's all I can think about.

Kitkatmonster · 29/01/2016 11:31

Yes nails feels much more real, especially having had the beating heart pointed out and heard it for a few seconds. For whatever reason this baby isn't giving me any issues in the early weeks and I should obviously just count my blessings and be grateful to him/her. Talking of gender - will people be finding out? I really don't want to this time, did with my others but having 1 of each already I think I'd like a surprise for my final one! My gut feeling guess right now would be boy. We'll see...

MoonriseKingdom · 29/01/2016 11:37

Went to EPU this am - they were very nice.

Had a scan and sac and foetal pole seen in the right place which is right for gestation - too early for heart beat. They are going to scan again in 2 weeks time but feeling happier. Feeling sick but still at the stage where eating helps so eating lots!

Hope everyone else is having a good day too.

MoonriseKingdom · 29/01/2016 11:40

Glad you have had some reassurance kitkat. We didn't find out sex the first time and it was a wonderful surprise after a really rubbish labour / emergency c-section. However will probably find out this time (assuming all ok) as feeling more practically minded.

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 12:36

kitkat I'd really like this one to be a surprise. Like you, I found out with my previous two and this will, no doubt, be my last so it would be great if we can be patient. I have a feeling this one might be a girl but I don't know if that's me forcing myself believe that or a gut feeling...

Moonrise That's great! Yeah me too, feeling that hungry light headed sick so easily solved with food!

Newtothevillage · 29/01/2016 13:02

Hi all!

I had an email about a PM so will log in on a pc and try to figure out what to do.

Had my booking in appt today. It was lovely, the midwife was really nice but unfortunately won't be my community midwife moving forward. I am booked into the hospital that I wanted and ok for MLC and right height weight etc for birthing suite. I have PCOS and endometriosis so advised to stay on metformin until 12 weeks and then review and also to have a glucose test at 28 weeks as PCOS puts you at a slightly higher risk of gestational diabetes she said.

All good though, feel a bit more supported as was starting to get a bit overwhelmed as first baby and people seems to know a lot more than me but feel better now.

Sorry for the waffling on! Smile

icklekid · 29/01/2016 13:04

Glad all was fine moonrise

kitkat can imagine that was lovely and so reassuring

We won't be finding out, didn't for ds1. I would be equally happy with another boy or a girl. As we didn't find out last time all newborn stuff is gender neutral so not worried about that!

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 13:14

Newtothevillage my GP advised me to stop taking Metformin when I went to inform her about my pregnancy. I've not taken it for nearly three weeks! And I don't have my booking app for another week and a half.
Why did they suggest you continue? To avoid gestational diabetes?

zeeka · 29/01/2016 13:15

I had a gut feeling that I was having boys last time. So did my sister. We both had girls... I cannot trust my gut on this point!

Does the mw check for a heartbeat at booking or is 9 wks too early? I'll be 9.5 ish when I go.

nailsathome · 29/01/2016 13:33

I'll be finding out. IMO it's a surprise whether you find out at 20 weeks or at birth. I also have one of each but I just like to know!

I haven't heard from mw yet. I'll be 8weeks on Sunday and I still can't decide whether to go for an early scan or not.

peardrop2 · 29/01/2016 13:40

We found out last time. We might find out again and not tell anyone DH doesn't know my plan yet

wornoutboots · 29/01/2016 13:45

too early, I think zeeka

Kitkatmonster · 29/01/2016 14:23

My DD wants us to find out. She keeps going on and on about it. She also wants a sister and I have a feeling she may be disapponted. But I'm basing this on my pregnancy with her being the hardest so far and this one (to date) being a comparative beeze touch a load of wood, under no illusions that there's still a long way to go and a lot that can happen! I may have to start prepping her for disappointment, both on gender front and the fact she'll be waiting till the end to find out!

I have no baby items at all, so we will have to start from scratch. Luckily I have 2 close family members who are both due this year and I'm relying on hand me downs... One doesn't know what she's having so will be able to pass on lots of gender neutral newborn stuff at least!

Kitkatmonster · 29/01/2016 14:25

nails I'm glad I did, even though it doesn't mean anything is 'safe' I'm glad I went and saw and heard and have the feeling of everything being OK at least for this weekend! I'm less desperate about a 12 week scan date now too.

Newtothevillage · 29/01/2016 14:25

Frazzle the midwife, GP and my original gynae consultant all agreed that as it had clearly helped my hormones even out (less PCOS symptoms) that stopping it could effect the hormone levels so to continue doing what I did to fall pregnant which was 1500mg a day until 12 weeks and then review situation.

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 14:28

I've got nothing left either, kitkat. Though i did find a pack of girly baby vests unopened from when I had dreams of having a girl when preg with DS2. I also unearthed the baby seat thingie which snaps onto our Stokke chair so a highchair is one less item to buy. Oh I also found our old travel cot in the loft so that's good too. But nothing else except a Bugaboo Frog, a Bugaboo Bee, and a Phil and Ted absolutely covered in mould and rust Sad Silly Frazzle.

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 14:31

Oh Newtothevillage I'm worried now! I wonder if I should call the FMU to ask? I just completely stopped taking them when the GP said, after taking the same as you 500mg three times a day.

Newtothevillage · 29/01/2016 15:08

Yes maybe call and check, what is FMU sorry? If it's any help, I've found that usually gps are very new to metformin for PCOS as still unlicensed so often know very little about it and are quick to jump to conclusions. I had to fight to get it but switched gp to a much younger female gp and she seemed to know her stuff. Saying that if the metformin is for diabetes I know they advice against it and recommended insulin managed treatment.

Kitkatmonster · 29/01/2016 15:20

How old are your children frazzle?

I think I have kept the first babygros that mine wore when they were born. Who knows where though. It would be nice to reuse that first outfit - but which one? They both had their own - do I take both and dress according to whether it's a boy or girl? I'm getting rather ahead of myself aren't I?!

FrazzleRock · 29/01/2016 15:38

Fetal Medicine Unit Newtothevillage where I will be having my appointments. Scans anyway... Maybe the EPU would be better.

Kitkat Mine are 10 and 6 (from my soon to be ex-marriage). I remember bringing a beautiful little Gap number to the birth of my eldest. It was a newborn babygrow and soooo cute, I couldn't wait to put it on him. But he was a monster at 9lb 12 so it was too small Sad. STBXH had to go out and buy him a new going home outfit!

Maybe take both like you say? They don't take up much space in the bag Smile

Fifi10 · 29/01/2016 15:50

I still have one of my own baby outfits including a bright pink knitted cardigan my grandma made for me... tempted to re-use this in September, if only for a photograph.

We are going to find out baby's sex if possible at the 20 week scan, though I don't think we'd pay for a private scan for this. DP would prefer a boy as everybody else (workmates, siblings, friends) have all had girls and he jokingly thinks this will prove he's proper manly. In reality I think he's happy if we get through to September with no disasters. I only have brothers and male cousins so no idea what I would do with a little girl (!)

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 29/01/2016 15:57

I keep flip flopping between finding out or not. I didn't with DS and it was lovely finding out at the birth. However I've kept all his clothes and would be useful to know if I need to still. Plus might help DS get used to the idea better if he can call it a brother or sister? Can't decide!

Sat in the Asda carpark eating cold southern fried chicken bites out the packet. Pregnancy is pure glamour
