October 2016 babies

Wow! First here. Well actually mine #2 is due 30th Sept by dates but as DD was 10d late I guess Oct is the place to be. I was in Oct 14 so Oct 16 seems to be the right place to be. Anyone else?

My husband will be pleased to know it's safe to have sex during the first trimester, I've been avoiding it because I had some abnormal cells removed last December and worried I have a weaker cervix now but I'll double check with the midwife to be safe! Has anyone been suffering with back pain? Last night I was in a lot of pain with my lower back, it's ok now but think it's still lurking and will hit again. I'm so a bit worried because I the first few weeks I was peeing constantly and now I'm pretty much back to normal but it may just be drinking less, don't want to chug gallons of water to see if I still need to pee all the time!

Just got my reassurance scan date - 15th March, and my 12 week scan date - 4th April. Ages away!!

How's everyone else doing?

Just wanted to ask you lot advice - I called my doctors and told them I was pregnant and receptionist said I didn't need to see the doctor - which I was fine about- she arranged my first appointment with the midwife - the next appointment that was available in 23rd much- by that time I will be 11 and half weeks gone is this standard?

No pixie, when I phoned my doctors they booked me in for a 7 week appt with midwife and then they will send me a letter with scan dates for 12 weeks. 11 weeks sounds a long time for an initial appt with midwife

I think each area has different procedures. I had to see my gp first and saw the mw yesterday. She dated me at 10+5 by my lmp even though I'm not that far gone. More like 7-8w. She told me to get my blood done asap in time for my dating scan when is tbc. I'd tell a little fib just to get booked in earlier tbh. 11 weeks is quite late.

I have my booking in appt booked for 10 weeks, which again seems late to me but have a scan beforehand due to mc last time around.

8 weeks today (according to my measurements from my early scan at 6+5) It's been the longest of my life! Now only 3 and a bit weeks to go until my scan on 15th March I was out for my birthday meal last night and it was pretty obvious I wasn't drinking and had a few people ask if I had 'something to tell them' and the stupid smile on my face gave me away so now all of my friends know but I've said it's still very early!! It's been impossible to keep quiet until 12 weeks hope everyone's had a lovely weekend.

I wouldn't worry Mrs I think it's lovely to tell close friends and family and great for support more people to moan to instead of just DH I've told my immediate family and a 3 close friends, still haven't properly announced it yet but I see it as if anything bad were to happen I would count on those people for love and support anyway.

Is anyone starting to show yet? I'm only 6+2 but have days where I'm so bloated I feel more like 3 months, but other days my tummy is flat. I just want to see some progress!!! Also, as this is my second child (3rd pregnancy), is it usual to show earlier?

I've been constantly bloated for weeks now, by the end of the day I look about 5 months digestion massively slowed down I've heard that if you've had a baby before though that you do show earlier.

Just wondering when everyone starts to buy things, I won't buy anything until after the 12 week scan (fingers crossed all is well then) but after that I'm not sure when to start picking things up, this is our first so literally need everything from scratch! My mum has insisted on buying the pram, she said price doesn't matter choose what we want but I've had a look around and they are bloody expensive! However don't want to get a 'cheap' one just because it's not my money, I'll have to have another look and compromise but I know she'll tell me to just get what I want. MIL will also want to help (first grandchild on both sides so going to be very spoilt) I'm not expecting anything from anyone but I know they are both so excited and want to help which I do appreciate. I'm just don't know when to start, want these three weeks to go now so we can have the scan, it's all I'm going to think about!
