Wow! First here. Well actually mine #2 is due 30th Sept by dates but as DD was 10d late I guess Oct is the place to be. I was in Oct 14 so Oct 16 seems to be the right place to be. Anyone else?

Bowing out of this thread now. I wish all of you very healthy and happy pregnancies! Flowers

TheCake · 15/02/2016 08:40

Sorry to hear that OrianaBanana you take care xxx

Bluecarrot · 15/02/2016 09:26

Flowers sorry Oriana. Hope you can get plenty of rest and take it easy for a few days. Take any help offered x

Reluctantnympho · 15/02/2016 09:54

Hi woodpidgeon glad to see you here x Smile
oriana I'm so sorry take care of yourselfSad
First day of half term here, no lie in! But it's so nice to take time to have a lovely breakfast and watch Jeremy Kyle! Grin
I've been healthy by swapping diet coke for orange juice but now I have a mouth full of ulcers (I forgot it doesn't really agree with me) still drinking gallons of water in the night and I was fast asleep by 9pm but apart from that I'm still (worryingly) symptom free Sad

SchnitzelvonKrummsverylowtum · 15/02/2016 10:45

Hello ladies, can I join please? I got my bfp at what I think would be 10dpo, so very early days for me. I think that would make the due date around 27th October, though DS (now 19 mo) was just over two weeks early. I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to manage with 2!

Allhallowseve · 15/02/2016 11:43

So sorry oriana
Hi schnitzel congrats my ds is a week off 19months so similar age gap! I don't know how I'm going to cope with 2 either especially on days like today with a 4.30 am wake up call Shock tired is an understatement.

Ladycrazycat · 15/02/2016 12:02

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing ok.

My MW was going to book me in for an early scan as there's a slight possibility I'm further along than I thought. She told me to call the hospital to check it in case I didn't get the letter on time. Just called and they've booked it for a week Friday (26th). This will make me 9 weeks, 4 days or if I am further ahead, 13 weeks exactly.

The scan date is later than I expected so it has thrown me a bit. If I am 9 weeks, 4 days, are they likely to scan me again for my official dating scan? They have this one listed as a dating scan.

oriana Flowers

wetsnow · 15/02/2016 12:34

Oh oriana lots of love

nympho no symptoms here either. I'm tired but I don't think I'm more tired than before.

Spa day tomorrow. Sad I'm not allowed in the jacuzzi. Looking forward to a lazy few hours though.

Alwaysinahurrynow · 15/02/2016 12:54

Sorry to hear about your news oriana.

What's the issue with aspartame? I've just read the NHS guidelines and the only people it seems to say have an issue are those with an underlying genetic condition. I don't consume a ridiculous amount of Coke Zero and sugar free things, so my presumption is that one bottle of Coke Zero or similar and a sugar free yoghurt is fine. Does anyone have anything scientific to the contrary?

climbingcheesecake · 15/02/2016 13:02

Hi everyone, can I join please!

I am just over 7 weeks now, didn't want to join too early as I've had 2 mc's the year before last, but hoping this one will stick.
This pregnancy wasn't really planned. Typically, the timing is quite bad, because I am currently out of work and DP is changing jobs too! Oh well, we are happy with the news anyway.
I am feeling quite nauseous and so so so so tired.
Have my first drs appointment tomorrow, so hope I will get an early scan booked.

bananafish81 · 15/02/2016 13:20

Big hugs oriana

With everyone on knicker watch. I am desperately hoping for more symptoms to reassure me that something is going on but then I remind myself that I could have all the symptoms in the world and still have a MMC or blighted ovum. Also (TMI sorry) I'm always a bit on edge as to thinking I'm bleeding because the progesterone pessaries most def live up to the moniker 'messaries' urgh.

6 weeks today and just over a week till my viability scan

Have any of you ladies who've had previous pregnancies had consultant led antenatal care due to being classed as high risk? Presume that means seeing a Dr as well as a midwife at certain points? (if I make it that far obvs)

ditsygal · 15/02/2016 13:21

So sorry oriana

always I did quite alot of reading around artificial sweeteners this morning and I cant find any confirmed evidence that in the small amounts your talking about that aspartame would do any harm at all. It is one of the most tested food items around and is registered as safe.
I have decided that any sweetener I use will be splenda (in hot drinks or occasional cooking as I am going to attempt sticking to slimming world) as sucralose seems to be the least controversial sweetener, but I will eat diet yoghurts etc with other sorts in, as its not like it would amount to very much!

Although saying that I am going on slimming world - I went out this morning to do my shopping and stocked up on loads of healthy food, but came back and made lunch and could only eat a few mouthfuls before feeling too sick. So not sure how healthy eating is going to go, as I'm not sure I have much choice in what I can manage to eat right now!

MrBensMrs · 15/02/2016 13:29

6 weeks 3 days today and starting to feel sick Sad Sat at work thinking I feel too hot, head is swimming a bit and feel a bit sea sick! I cannot cope with morning sickness at work, it needs to go away fast Envy

Figgygal · 15/02/2016 14:12

shamefully I am living on carbs at the moment!! No sickness but full of cold and just no appetite for anything remotely healthy

Tallblue · 15/02/2016 15:04

Flowers oriana

MrBens I get the too hot feeling also, mainly during the night time and can't do anything to cool down, doesn't really help with the insomnia. Hope your sickness passes soon!

Currently listening to DD tired-wailing as DH gets her ready for bed and I'm wondering how on earth this will work with two DCs?!

wondermoose · 15/02/2016 15:36

Oh oriana I'm so sorry, take care of yourself xx

I'm really struggling with the starving new minute, full the next! Could really so with some healthy snack ideas, the amount of junk and pizza I'm consuming is ridiculous! What's everyone else snacking on?

Blueskygirl30 · 15/02/2016 15:46

Oriana I'm so sorry. Look after yourself.

I had my scan this morning, I am 6+2 based on LMP but I was dated at 5+5 which is only a couple of days out from what I thought I'd be based on late ovulation. I saw my 3.6mm bean and a teeny tiny heartbeat too. I was expecting the worst so am very happy.

I've not really got much nausea yet, but do find I'm suddenly starving and then full really quickly like you wonder. Fortunately at the moment I'm mainly craving fruit, which makes a change from my normal sweet tooth, and which helps given that I'm a bit fat!

MrBensMrs · 15/02/2016 16:11

I'm snacking on fruit and crisps! I am seriously craving carbs at the moment and want to eat so I don't have a taste in my mouth! Went for a walk at lunch outside to get some fresh air and felt better. Tallblue I'm waking up in the night drenched and having to throw the quilt on DH! It's terrible! Feel like I'm going through the menopause! lol!

LisaTheGreek · 15/02/2016 16:12

Always - the issue with aspartame is that while it hasn't been proven unsafe, it hasn't been proven to be safe.

The problem is that it (and other artificial sweeteners) just haven't been around that long. So the criticisms are that there are no longitudinal studies that show aspartame's impact on people over a number of years. And, unsurprisingly, it's not an easy experiment to ask people to do, given the ethical implications if it does turn out to cause something.

Ditsy is right that it's one of the most tested food ingredients in the world. And no one has found a problem with it. But some people don't like the uncertainty of its long-term effects, particularly if they are pregnant.

(None of this is to preach my view to people - I'm genuinely uncertain about it myself, and drink lots of Diet Coke usually. However, given the bit of doubt around it, and the fact that it's my first pregnancy and I'm super paranoid, I've bought some caffeine-free Diet Coke and will have it only as a treat. I don't think I feel confident enough to drink it daily.)

Hope that helps!

MrBensMrs · 15/02/2016 16:12

I have just read back Flowers and hugs Oriana

Yay BlueSky for your scan! Was it lovely seeing the heart beat?

LisaTheGreek · 15/02/2016 16:14

Mr Ben - I feel the same! Particularly about your head swimming. I feel quite flu-ish, actually, like I can't hold up my head, and achy all over Sad

MrBensMrs · 15/02/2016 16:20

Oh no Lisa I do wonder if it's the left overs from this 2 week virus I have had making me feel worse. Dose up on honey and lemon in hot water and you can take paracetamol if you need to x

Blueskygirl30 · 15/02/2016 16:35

MrBensMrs yes, it was amazing to see the heartbeat. I almost cried, I was so happy, but just managed to control myself. I feel reassured today, I'm sure that'll only last a couple of days tho and I'll be back on knicker watch!!

MrBensMrs · 15/02/2016 17:22

Ha! My early scan is on Sunday! Am really nervous!

Just had a call from the doctors to drop another urine sample off - doctor hasn't told receptionist why, and it's not marked urgent! Still makes me worried!
