Afternoon all - christ this moves quickly - I checked in after posting my scan photo and another 5 pages has passed!
Sorry for all those poor symptoms - mrsamerican yep I've heard dizziness and fainting isn't unusual - I believe the increase in progesterone relaxes the blood vessels. I imagine it's also something to do with the increase of blood flow elsewhere in the body and if you're having morning sickness, a possible lack of sugar. I had my BP taken in OB ward the other day and threw back a reading of 90/49
- I always run low in BP's but that's a new low!
I read that drinking up to double what you'd usually consume may help, and like they advise those with high BP to avoid salt, if you are feeling faint, try salty snacks. I've craved savoury, salty foods throughout the pregnancy so far, which is indicative to me that I'm probably running a low blood pressure. It's making me feel vile to be honest, like a weird kind of hangover - all foggy headed and sicky.
Ah, 6 weeks 4 days. Still not back at work, should have gone in today but feel vile. Managed to go out on a walk with DP for a bit, I've had a lot of cramping still (and the beautifully termed 'fanny daggers') and my lower back is really tight. No more blood, which is a relief. I was getting in a right tizz this morning because I didn't feel I had many symptoms, and in the last 2 hours woosh, I'm feeling gaggy, achy, tired, crampy, dizzy and generally just rough - that's the best way I can explain it - rough!
Hoping to make it into work tomorrow. When I was off, I had to tell my manager about the little shrimp I'm cooking, so when I see her properly it'll be the first "face to face" announcement. We were hoping to leave it until 12 weeks (we work at same company) but my company allow any absence during pregnancy to be paid, whereas a normal absence is unpaid if you've exceeding 10 days of sickness within the year (I had 2 weeks off in July for serious infection).
