Wow! First here. Well actually mine #2 is due 30th Sept by dates but as DD was 10d late I guess Oct is the place to be. I was in Oct 14 so Oct 16 seems to be the right place to be. Anyone else?

fairgroundsnack · 09/02/2016 16:31

Hi Dilli - no, St Lucia doesn't have zika yet but I am pretty sure it will have spread there before April, sadly. Bet you are looking forwards to going home soon!

wetsnow · 09/02/2016 16:35

lisa if you join 'mummies gin fund' on face book there is lots of mum who have had experience of all the hospitals. It's a fab group with lots of local mummies giving tips and advice.

Oh no allhollows how annoying

wondermoose · 09/02/2016 16:38

Ah thanks dilli I have a high bmi so will have the joys of get again at the very least ,
They told me ds was going to be 10-11lbs at my 36 week scan, I nearly had a heart attack! Turned out he just had a big head and was 8lbs

wondermoose · 09/02/2016 16:39

Sorry that should be gtt not get! Silly autocorrect

kittyvet · 09/02/2016 16:57

wondermoose · 09/02/2016 17:05

Ooh fab news kitty Did you have a home birth last time? I wanted a water birth but it wasn't to be :)

Dilligufdarling · 09/02/2016 17:18

Fairground I absolutely cannot wait to go home! Have got a 12 hour flight between me and my loves though... Confused
Kitty that's great news :) what is a GTT?

Has anyone else been having an upset stomach at this stage?

MrBensMrs · 09/02/2016 17:18

Had my booking in appointment with the doctor today who was lovely!
Weight (officially fat!), height, blood pressure and they did a pregnancy test and asked lots of background questions to refer me to the midwife. I have to call the midwife tomorrow to book myself in Smile

Gurzleburg · 09/02/2016 17:49

Hi there!

Can I join please? I found out yesterday that baby #2 is due on the 19th October! It feels crazy early to know as I didn't find out until 7 weeks the first time. There were too many similar symptoms to last time to ignore but was fully expecting a negative test as my period isn't due for a few more days.

We live in the US so the system's a little different here and my 1st appointment in 2 weeks. I'm excited/terrified after a difficult pregnancy last time but my OB is amazing. Zika is also freaking me out but we're quite far north so fingers crossed the mozzies keep away. I'll be asking lots of Zika questions at the appointment though and will pass on what she says.

Going to go back and read the full thread now but I hope everyone's feeling ok and the not so nice pregnancy symptoms are staying away.

ditsygal · 09/02/2016 18:14

Gurzle welcome!
Yes please do pass on any zika information. I have a florida holiday booked for May and we have to pay for the accommodation in March, so if we need to cancel we could really do with deciding before then. Eeek.
My current thoughts are that if its similar to chikungunya in 2014, there were only 12 locally transmitted cases in florida, so actually chances of catching it would still be very slim even if its present....

Bluecarrot · 09/02/2016 18:17

I didn't realise big babies meant gd test was likely. Dd2 was 11lbs so I'll look forward to the test! Hmm

I have an idea. If we start a adding brief intro, then as each new person joins they copy what's there and adds their details then posts it?
Eg
Bluecarrot DC3 due October 18 Belfast

Means new people won't feel as overwhelmed. This thread moves fast!

pandaglasses · 09/02/2016 18:29

I'm not having any upset stomach yet dilli but with dc1 it hit me at week 7 until 14 so I'm anticipating puking any day now. So far I'm feeling totally different this time

JulietteT · 09/02/2016 18:40

Hi all.

Dilli, wonder, kitty what's a GTT? As a first timer with high bmi I'm sure whatever it is I will end up with it!

Have managed to pick up a cold so just feel dreadful constantly - can't quite figure out what symptom is what! But quite relieved I haven't actually been sick yet...

vivicrocodile · 09/02/2016 18:52

It's so exciting to be back in one of these groups!!

I'm not 4 weeks yet but I know how quickly it will all go. I have a doctors appointment later this week,so will mention being pregnant too.

How is everyone doing symptoms wise? I am just tired. Although I don't know if I'm just tired because I'm always tired! Nothing else!

Has anyone else told people yet? I told my department at work - it's all I've been going on about lately, so I knew they'd guess if I stopped all of a sudden. I have told a couple of others too. I'm not bothered about keeping it to myself at all - not sure why, I thought I would be. I lasted until 8/9 weeks last time, couldn't be bothered this time. Not shouting it from the rooftops or anything, just a select few :)

Georgina4 · 09/02/2016 18:57

Congrats to all the newbies.

I wondered how exercise is in your first trimester. I'm only 5 weeks+5days and wanted to get back to spinning and body pump if I kept the weights light. Is anyone else keeping up exercise involving weights?

MrBensMrs · 09/02/2016 19:10

Dilli is it tmi to say I have baaad gas? I have IBS anyway so anything sets me off but I do have an upset stomach! My symptoms are:

Sore boobs
Cramping
Insomnia - loving being awake at 3am while DH is snoring away Angry
Gas (so much gas!)
I also have had a bad cold and cough since last Wednesday which is making me feel crap and grumpy!

LisaTheGreek · 09/02/2016 19:18

Lots of gas here too, MrBen, it's just wonderful Hmm

Surprised OH hasn't chucked me out of the house yet to get it fumigated!

wetsnow · 09/02/2016 19:19

Welcome newbies

Geogina I intend to carry on running as long as possible. Don't do weights though so can't help there.

Peppaspants · 09/02/2016 19:24

Hi, I'm poking my head in to join if that's ok. I'm 5+4. Got my BFP on the 26th of Jan so due date around the 7th of October, will be DC2. Due to a bad pregnancy last time I've booked a private early scan for the end of Feb, got my booking in on the 3rd, so feels like it's starting to get a bit real. Had a few symptoms, sore boobs and had terrible diarrhoea so had to tell my boss but no one else. Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

Glitterball86 · 09/02/2016 19:26

Hello waves EDD: 9-10-16 I have one DS who was born on 12-9-15! Only found out today so feeling excited/happy/scared all at once!! Xx

wondermoose · 09/02/2016 19:32

Sorry juliette gtt is glucose tolerance test, you get it around July time to check for gestational diabetes, involves fasting and a blood test before and after some lucozade, basically sitting in a hospital bored and hungry for 2 hrs Confused

Northernlight22 · 09/02/2016 19:47

I'm chunky so definitely expecting a bit of a hard time throughout - plan was to lose weight beforehand but I got caught out week 4 of slimming world 🙈

Same thing happened with my mc pregnancy, 6 weeks into slimming world I found out I was pregnant. I think I might start suggesting it as a pregnancy aid!

melonribena · 09/02/2016 20:05

Mr Ben, ive got lots of gas too!! Fun at work!

Ditsy, glad it's not just me who feels nauseous and tired in the afternoon. Been really grumpy today!! Shouted at school, first time I've done it this year and felt awful. Kids looked a bit shell shocked.

Does anyone know what constitutes a big baby and triggers a test for gd? I had a test last time and ds was 9lb 8.5oz but the results were negative. I'm a bit (lot) bigger this time though!
