Wow! First here. Well actually mine #2 is due 30th Sept by dates but as DD was 10d late I guess Oct is the place to be. I was in Oct 14 so Oct 16 seems to be the right place to be. Anyone else?

Busybeeee I agree, it feels like it's going soooo slowly. I'm only 6 weeks today, so such a long time until that first scan!

missybct · 05/02/2016 15:10

Hello all newbies! Welcome and congratulations! Flowers

I'm around 5 weeks 5 days today. I've had a lot of uncomfortable cramps and aches, as well as some sharp pains today Sad Not sure whether I should be concerned, but some of my (barely existent) symptoms seem to have waned Sad - pain isn't unbearable, but back is stiff and sore, I really don't know, I just want to be at home. We've got DSS for the whole weekend, so it's going to be difficult to try and contain any thing if it does happen (he doesn't know, obviously).

Just feels pressure, like something is sitting there. I've not had any spotting or bleeding yet, I'm dreading each time I go to the toilet Sad

wetsnow · 05/02/2016 18:30

Like shops I just feel tired but... work and 2 year old.
It's birthday party weekend!!!! We have 5 toddlers coming tomorrow afternoon Shock
I actually keep forgetting I'm pregnant... last time it was all I thought about...

kittyvet · 05/02/2016 18:41

TMI alert! Terrible wind too and diarrhoea the last week!!! Better than morning sickness though!

I hope you're feeling better and that it was nothing more than some stretching going on to accommodate your little bean. Thinking of you.

Blueskygirl30 · 05/02/2016 18:47

...it's been so long since I've posted on here that I forgot how to bold names...just worked it out again!!

Ladycrazycat · 05/02/2016 19:42

missy hope you are ok. I'm also five weeks and five days and had awful back ache and cramps last week then it suddenly stopped which terrified me! It still worries me a bit but I'm hoping it's ok, especially as I've seen other people mention it as well so it means there are several of us.

My pains sort of felt like period pains but not quite. They were similar but not the same.

I think I was nauseous this afternoon. Well I know I was but I keep thinking im imagining it!

HotelUniformNovember · 05/02/2016 19:48

Hello, all! Never thought I'd be joining an antenatal thread again, but here I am. Hope I can stick around. I'm 4+2 today and have been feeling very sick, my boobs are agonisingly painful. I've done four pg tests, two Tesco cheap ones (faint positive on day 27, faint positive again today) and two CBDs, one on day 28 and one today. Both said pregnant, 1-2 weeks.

This is my third baby, and my last pg was a decade ago. Definitely very much planned and wanted, this one. Doesn't feel real though, despite retching on school run today and boobs feeling like they're pulsating! God, maybe it's twins! Saw the doctor this morning and he's referred me for an early scan, which I hope will set my mind at rest (a bit!).

Lollieoftheflowera · 05/02/2016 20:17

I'm using the Nurture pregnancy app and the women on there are proudly showing off their 6 week gas baby bellies! Someone even got offered a seat on the bus they were so bloated 😂 Guess we can join the club Lisa, Melon and Leodensia!

melonribena · 05/02/2016 20:22

Missy, your symptoms sound just like mine. I've been figuring it's just my body adjusting, but also dread every time I go to the toilet. Thinking of you and you're not alone.

How do you bold names?

Experts - does anyone have an opinion on aspartame?

I love Diet Coke, and I know caffeine is the main thing in it so I've bought a caffeine-free six pack and might have one (I've stayed away from Diet Coke and alcohol since I got my BFP). And I never drink tea or coffee, so I'm not worried about my caffeine intake.

But I know Diet Coke (in particular) has aspartame as well, which has been proved unsafe, but hasn't been proven safe (for anyone, not just pregnant women) given it hasn't been around for long).

Anyone got any strong opinions on it?

LisaTheGreek · 05/02/2016 20:26

Lollie - how are you finding the Nurture app? Would you recommend it?

Figgygal · 05/02/2016 20:33

I'm using the baby centre app just for the weekly growth updates. There's a lot of twee crap on there but some useful things on diet, lifestyle etc

LisaTheGreek · 05/02/2016 20:35

*Aspartame hasn't been proven safe or proven unsafe

(Sorry, my original post had a typo!)

Blueskygirl30 · 05/02/2016 20:46

Welcome hotel

Lisa I personally am trying not to drink any diet drinks containing aspartame anymore, and had really cut back before I got pregnant as I think there's too much research showing negative effects of he substance. However, I'm sure the occasional can won't harm you, maybe just not several cans everyday. Just my opinion though.

missy and melon I have been having cramps too. Sometimes it feels like mild period pains and sometimes I get quite strong cramps.....sometimes it's just trapped gas!!! Blush

melonribena · 05/02/2016 21:29

Blue sky! I agree about the gas! Woke up in the night with awful pain in stomach. Panicked but did big fart and all was well!!

Sorry for tmi!!!!

LisaTheGreek · 05/02/2016 22:05

Melon - I have that too! I wake up and think I might have a bad stomach problem, but then a good fart sorts it all it Grin

wetsnow · 06/02/2016 05:06

I wanted a large wine so much I went to bed at half 8... 8 months to go...

missybct · 06/02/2016 07:57

Welcome Hotel - congratulations! Could definitely be twins with nausea that early! Flowers

The gas is very deceptive isn't it Grin - I have it mainly after eating, it was so bad I had to sit with a hot water bottle on my back the other night before I could let out a massive bum rip! OH is the king of farting, I wonder whether his reign will be shorter lived now!

Yeah I'm there with the mild period pains bluesky - sort of feels like a heaviness, but does feel tight, like muscles are stretching. I think it was more the backache that bothered me, but this morning I've woke and it doesn't feel quite as obvious. I don't think wearing my heeled boots helped yesterday!

As for Aspartame, can't really speak for consumption as I've never been a big fizzy drinker - it's always been water, pure orange juice, tea or alcohol for me Grin - I've not fancied alcohol at all since pg (rare, I'm a lover of white wine) but I'm struggling with the tea/coffee.

How are we all feeling today? DSS is up (OH asleep) and playing Minecraft, waiting Sainsburys order shortly - I bought a CB Digi test and would expect to see 3+ weeks (I last took one a week ago at 2-3) and I think once I've got that I'll give the tests a rest - I dare not even consider how much I've spent on them since start of the year! Blush

fish88 · 06/02/2016 08:00

I never realised farting was a pregnancy symptom but I've definitely been farting loads the last week. I'm going shopping today to buy some loose fitting tops because my bloated gas belly already looks like a mini baby bump!

Blueskygirl30 · 06/02/2016 08:23

Thank goodness I'm not the only one farting away! At least last night I was able to turn to my husband and blame it on the pregnancy!!! Grin

missy I've just ordered a clear blue to test in a week too. I'm 5 weeks today and just tested and got 2-3 weeks, which made me so happy because with my ectopic pregnancy it never read past 1-2 weeks even though I reached 6+4 with that pregnancy before the ectopic was discovered. So happy to have got 2-3 weeks on that little tiny screen! Seeing 3+ will be lovely for you, will you do it today? I too have spent sooooo much on sticks to pee on on the past year and a half!!

Gigglebert · 06/02/2016 08:34

Glad I'm not the only one considering more testing! I have one digital test in my drawer but am trying to hold it for another week so that it hopefully reads 3+! Am also spending way too much time researching all the pri ate scan places I'm Edinburgh! think I'm going to book one for when I think I'm 8 weeks as should be able to see what's going on by then and will help cut the wait until my 12 week scan! Just need to convince my husband that I'm not a crazy lady for wanting one!

Figgygal · 06/02/2016 09:04

I just can't bring myself to spend £10 on one of the week indicator cb tests when I can get a basic test for £1 from the local £1 store...... Am so tight Grin

I'm just going to hang on in there I think for the 12 week how much are private scans roughly?

wetsnow · 06/02/2016 09:08

figgy nope!
Ibe only used cheapie... peed on one this morning. Still positive.
