Wow! First here. Well actually mine #2 is due 30th Sept by dates but as DD was 10d late I guess Oct is the place to be. I was in Oct 14 so Oct 16 seems to be the right place to be. Anyone else?

Hi newbies!! I've not given up caffine entirely either Melon. I literally have to have an espresso to manage my 5am start and hour commute! Saying that, I have cut back to one espresso and a black coffee in the evening. I was on 4 - 6 cups a day so it's quite the decrease (or feels it!)

I've got a boy and a girl Wetsnow and was sick all the way through with both of themm. I think this time round I just know I'm pregnant sooner. I didn't keep such careful count of my cycle before.

ditsygal · 04/02/2016 15:25

I've just told some of my closest friends (we all had babies at the same time 3 year ago and became great friends then) that I'm pregnant. It was lovely and they were so excited for me. Makes it all feel a bit real! We will be telling DH's parents tomorrow.
I also took the spare clear blue digital test I had left this morning and it said 3+ which means 5+ from last period and given I am 5+3 that seems pretty accurate so that at least reassured me that hormone levels are raising as they should be!

I haven't given up caffeine completely but have switched to decaf when I am at home or in cafes. But at friends houses I will still have the occasional coffee or tea.

Hi, please can I join :)

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with baby number 2, due 4th October.

I've just rung today to book my first midwife appointment on 2nd March so feeling a bit more real now!

Last time we told everyone really early as I needed to for my job but this time we're planning on keeping it to ourselves for a while and I'm already finding it really hard! I can barely be in the same room as my mum.

Are you guys keeping it secret or sharing the good news?

mrsamerican · 04/02/2016 17:39

Hi all, I'm due mid-October, and although I've been sick/nauseated for what feels like months already, I only got a positive a week ago. I had to tell my employer this morning (I'm a disabled carer for a little boy) because I started gagging while changing a dirty nappy. Last time I had to tell everyone about 7 weeks because I had hyperemesis, but I'm REALLY hoping I get a break this time around as this is DC2 for me. It's my daughter's 4th birthday party with our whole family on Saturday, and she has decided she wants burgers at our favourite place. Normally, it is deliciously greasy and you leave smelling like a chip, but I don't know if I can manage without barfing due to the smells. Virtual hugs accepted.

melonribena · 04/02/2016 18:07

Thanks everyone!! I think I'll do what a poster suggested and switch to decaf at home and have normal tea when at work and other people's houses!

Everyone at work says they know who's pregnant when they switch to decaf tea so I'm determined that won't give me away!!!

kittyvet · 04/02/2016 18:43

Been on decaff at work since I was PG with my DD so no suspicions there! Just have 1 real instant in the am and occaisionsl cola or coffee when out. i am used to now :)

I'm off of caffeine other than what little there is in chocolate! Did it for my first and want to try and be as cautious this time around as our daughter was one of those perfect babies who never cried and slept, crazy but I don't want to be blaming myself for drinking caffeine if we get a bad sleeper next time! Has taken me the full week to get over it cold turkey but I am a pretty heavy caffeine addict when I do have it.

Can't stomach decaf right now, two sips and I feel like throwing up so I'm on ginger tea at work, one of my colleagues is a close friend and already knows but the rest of them are far too self absorbed to notice the switch!

Figgygal · 04/02/2016 19:03

I'm not telling anyone until after the scan didn't last time either.

Figgygal · 04/02/2016 19:08

Oh and also spoke to midwives earlier they do group sessions first for 8 women going through all the non confidential stuff en masse so diet, scans etc then arrange your appointment for 1-2-1 session I guess it makes that session quicker but means making excuses twice to be out at work. A friend of mine went last year said it was a massive waste of time tried to get out if but they are mandatory apparently.

Leodensian · 04/02/2016 19:40

Hello all, hope there's room for another!
Got a positive result on the eBay cheapy test on Tuesday (after totally convincing myself period was about to start), then did a CBDigi yesterday. Seeing actual letters made it seem real!

This will be DC2. DS is 5 in April so it feels long enough ago to have forgotten most stuff!! DS was born in Oxford JR but we're in East Sussex now and I'm leaning toward a home birth. (Plus things were quick last time and the MWs then recommended home birth in the future!).

So far my boobs are agony, nausea but no puking yet, bloating, stretching pains (I remember them from last time, but forgot how annoying they are!), can't stand the smell of coffee, tea tastes wrong and constant hunger. In fact despite a double portion of stir fry I'm about to go raid the kitchen again... Smile

wetsnow · 04/02/2016 20:21

Welcome newbies.

Feeling crap but not pregnant symptoms. Have conjunctivitis , not sleeling well and 10000 things on my to do list.

Caffeine... not cut down but only have a morning coffee and evening tea.

busybeeeee84 · 04/02/2016 21:01

Welcome newbies, lovely to see so many more BFPs appearing!! I had my first midwife appointment today. At only 6+1 I felt like a total cheat but she was absolutely lovely and like Leondensian she was quite in favour of a home birth this time although its not something I had ever considered but now i'm definitely thinking about it. Its funny how influential midwives can be, my last midwife with last DC didn't really entertain the home birth idea. Apparently you have till 36 weeks preg to make the decision so will keep mulling it over. I have to go back in two weeks to officially book in and get a scan date-eek, then its really real!! I don't know about anyone else but I find this part of pregnancy goes sooo slow and the rest flies by!! Keep growing your little beans everyone!!

ashesandfire · 04/02/2016 22:07

I'm trying to cut down in my caffeine, so far I'm on one (large) mug of coffee in the morning and one to two cups of tea and trying to replace everything else with decaff. Never been much of a coke drinker but do eat chocolate as well.... I will try to cut down to 2 mugs total but I really miss it, I lurrrve coffee. Miss the wine too. And only 6 weeks! Not very nauseous so don't even have that to put me off all the things I shouldn't have Blush

Shropitlikeitshot · 04/02/2016 22:27

melon you could always invest in a box of tea like Ceylon and fill the empty box with your decaf teabags. I'm the only earl grey drinker at work so I just swapped them for decaf but kept the box.

Just found out that our best friends are due the week before us, I'm soooooo giddy!

Blueskygirl30 · 04/02/2016 23:20

I've never been much of a coffee or tea drinker so I've just stopped all together on those. I'm being super cautious at the moment but I think that's partly due to my two previous losses, even though they weren't from anything I did. I'm also counting short spaces of time, just over a week until my early scan...once that's done I can hopefully feel more like this is real this time!!

I've only got sore boobs and need to pee lots, but I've also been super thirsty so that ties in. I really want to feel nauseous, or some sort of definite pregnancy symptom, just so I know it's real!!!

Anyone else not got symptoms??

Shropitlikeitshot · 05/02/2016 05:57

blue I just feel tired (but then I work almost full time and have a two year old). That's one more symptom than I had whilst carrying her though!

LisaTheGreek · 05/02/2016 07:40

Bluesky- quite symptomless over here, too. I'm a bit more tired than usual and have some farting and diarrhoea (sorry for tmi), but nothing major.

Can't believe I'm in a position where I actually want symptoms and nausea Hmm

Figgygal · 05/02/2016 07:51

Blue sky in don't have any symptoms didn't last time either and he's 4 now!

I do have a cold this morning though Sad

Blueskygirl30 · 05/02/2016 08:55

Phew, glad I'm not the only symptomless one! I just did another test to make sure...definitely still pregnant! This is turning me into a crazy person. I've been on leave from work since the beginning of January so my brain has far too much time to think through every eventuality!

I hope everyone is well today, and those with morning sickness aren't feeling too bad!!!

daydream86 · 05/02/2016 09:32

blue nah no real symptoms
I could put my finger on here either. just a subtle thing here or there that if I didn't know I was preggo I wouldn't even notice! my sense of smell is possibly sharper! going to bed quite early but I wouldn't say was more tired than usual. the odd slight nausea feeling but think I'm imagining it lol and my early spotting has gone away, fingers crossed. boobs ever so slightly tender, apart from that I feel completely normal really! great in fact (I've said it now haven't I?! when morning sickness does kick in I'm going to be in for hell!)
5 weeks exactly today wahoo! only known a week but already feel like been preggo forever haha!! anybody else feel like that! only 35 more to go!x

daydream86 · 05/02/2016 09:38

Is anybody here "in the club" in West Yorkshire? I was trying to find out info about Wakefield birth centre last night and I can even find out if its still open or not!

melonribena · 05/02/2016 10:00

Shrop! Great idea about decaf tea bags in a normal box! I'm so doing that!!

Stressful morning, ds had a meltdown on the way to preschool that made us 15 minutes late! He wanted carrying rather than riding his scooter and I wasn't having it! A few questioning looks from other parents but oh well!

I'm supposed to be cleaning but I think I need a sit down first!!!

Leodensian · 05/02/2016 10:25

Just had the cat to vets for his vaccinations, the cleaning stuff they use really made the nausea kick in while I was there. Envy

melonribena · 05/02/2016 12:08

I agree Leo! Seems like a good idea at the time!!

Interesting about the farting Lisa! I've noticed that too! Didn't really have that first time round!!!

Grumpelstiltskin · 05/02/2016 12:22

Daydream I'm also exactly five weeks today! A very tiny milestone but happy the days are passing and small bean is developing.

I'm also pretty symptom-free still apart from, yes, the farting, (poor DH) and also slightly wishing there was something more tangible to hold on to than that! Let's remind ourselves of this in a few weeks when inevitably all the nausea and tiredness hits.

Hope those of you who are suffering already are doing ok.
Happy (almost) weekend.
