OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

I've been looking at the stats. It seems there is an awful lot of people who have dropped off the thread. Hoping all is well with them.

haquoi123 · 20/01/2016 07:31

isla I think quite a few migrated to the Facebook group - are you part of that? I know with ds I dropped off the January 2014 thread long before he died - I was at the end of the month and I don't think we gelled as well as this group did initially.

haquoi123 · 20/01/2016 07:32

But I am a little worried about calypso and till...

goneswimming · 20/01/2016 07:41

Love the cat being kicked in the head picture! My cats have emigrated to dh's lap instead where there's more space!
I get the bump stitch too, I'm way behind most of you being 34+6 today, baby still resolutely breech and causing me huge stress by staying very very still for hours on end and then having a little wriggle just as I give in to panic! I can't wait to have him outside where I can share the parenting panics!

MaisieDotes · 20/01/2016 08:22

There has been a huge amount of joiners but out of those only a proportion went on to become regular posters.

A couple of people stated their reasons for dropping off on other threads- iirc some people felt there were too many ftms on the thread and others thought there were too many posters already with DC! Grin

I think the thing about an antenatal bus is that it is a mixed bag so if you only want a group of others in the exact same boat as yourself then you will probably need to look elsewhere.

But yes, I have been wondering about till and calypso too Sad They were both daily posters.

One of our number (from a long time ago) is now banned I believe... Shock

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 20/01/2016 09:04

I lurked for a long time and only posted in recent months. I'm not on the stats sheet at all. I suspect there are lots of other lurkers 😋

jellypi3 · 20/01/2016 09:04

I think I know who that might be maisy!

NorthernChinchilla · 20/01/2016 09:26

Me too. A rather goady poster with a certain turn of phrase...
Agree ref calypso and till, hope they're alright.

From last time, it's even more fun and support when you're in the post natal bit; more traffic as well as lots of people are on mat leave so have a bit more time/freedom to post.

clarabellski · 20/01/2016 09:28

Rufus that picture is too cute!!!!

I'm hoping silence from previously regular posters is because they've had their (healthy) babies and are too busy looking after them to post on MN! Flowers

another one with the bump stitch - I think I posted a few weeks ago asking if it was BH but answer seemed to be 'it might be or it might just be overexertion'. It doesn't come in 'waves' it is just constant which makes me think the latter. Looking forward to finishing up work on Friday so that I can have a bit of a relax (sods law says I will go into labour on Saturday!)

I'm still here! This thread has moved so quickly into this new one!

Adore that cat pic!

Hope everyone's well this morning. Night of insomnia for me so not feeling wonderful! Plus I asked lots of friends to place bets on when baby was due to arrive - my guess was today, think I was a little eager haha!

clarabellski · 20/01/2016 10:01

Haha ratty, my friends have all guessed at least a week overdue! Hmm

One guessed that it would be a boy called Boris as well! Shock

Can I delurk? I have not posted for ages. Think it was the problems with names and sign in that put it off for a bit but I am on the Facebook group.
I am 35+6. I have been having BH since 24 weeks but lately they have been super painful. I lost my mucus plug a few days ago and since then I feel like they have intensified a bit and my bump is rock solid a lot of the time. I went over with my other two +1 and +4 so I am not expecting an early delivery, I just wish that it wasn't so awkward.
Congratulations to everyone that has had their little ones already a and how exciting that it is getting close for so many.

XingXingFox · 20/01/2016 10:28

till is a regular poster on Facebook and seems to be doing well, and doing lots of prep just to give you an update. Not sure about calypso...

posey I had the acupuncture a week ago and have been doing the exercises ever since. Scan today but can feel she's still breech. Not going to do ECV today as have too many questions still, you make a good point about placenta. madsaz let us know how tomorrow goes!

Looking forward to joining the antenatal thread Smile

CalypsoLilt · 20/01/2016 10:30

I'm baaaaaaaaack!!!!

Have been a lady of leisure since finishing work at Christmas :)
Really struggle to log in here? Can only manage from my phone which is a tad annoying!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

CalypsoLilt · 20/01/2016 10:33

(Goes to show how much of my "work time" I was actually on mumsnet!!)

Rufus200 · 20/01/2016 10:40

No sleep here either again. Bump has dramatically dropped this morning. Having cramps underneath this morning. Don't you dare come early baby, I'm not ready, DH isn't ready at all, he thinks he has 2 weeks and has just blocked his ears to an early arrival! DH has booked all his clients in to see him next week for check ups before he goes on paternity leave.

Everyone is sick around me, DH thinks he is getting man flu, this would not be a good time for baby to arrive. I can't stop sneezing and have the sniffles. Thankfully no leakage since the other night when sneezing.

Anyone having a c-section, are you doing kegels? I'm too scared they will start things off.

Newlywed123 · 20/01/2016 11:04

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what happens at a 37 week midwife appointment? My daughter was born before i had one with my previous pregnancy.

I have one just after dinner today and want to know if they will examine my cervix or not, just so i know if I should ask my MIL to have my daughter

IslaMann · 20/01/2016 11:22

Yes I'm on the Facebook group Haq, and Till is very active on there too. But there are still loads unaccounted for!

IslaMann · 20/01/2016 11:24

Newlywed at mine it was just the usual blood pressure, urine dip, Doppler and fundal height measurements. I imagine they try to avoid internals at 37 weeks as they don't want early labours.

MaisieDotes · 20/01/2016 11:28

Hi raviolig and calypso! Glad to see you back Smile

Good to hear all is well with till too.

newly I'm 39 weeks and they haven't done any internals at the midwives appts yet (I had one last week but it was with the consultant and for a different reason).

Although since you went early before they might want to check you?

Sorry, no help!

Newlywed123 · 20/01/2016 11:39

My consultant checked me after my stitch removal on Monday, i was 2cm. I just waanted to make sure as I wouldnt of felt comfortable my daughter being in the room with me if she was to examine me, thank you both Smile

clarabellski · 20/01/2016 12:23

newly I'm just back from my 37 week appointment and it was same as previous ones except she discussed sweeps with me and booked me in for one at 40+2.

In good news, baby's head is engaged and they are in a good position (back to my tummy on left hand side).

In TMI news, the antiobiotics I've been taking for the fanjo infection (which my midwife said was an 'exotic' one Hmm) have given me thrush! So now got prescription for pessary, d'oh! Hoping it all clears up quickly before anything starts to happen down there. Thought of getting a sweep is Shock

Thank you Clara its safe to take my daughter then Smile

Stepawayfromthezebras · 20/01/2016 12:36

I'm not doing kegels either Rufus. If I have problems after the birth I'll get some of the weights as they've been recommended by some people I've spoken to and I think they'd be more effective than just kegels. You can't use them till after birth though

Phoenix80 · 20/01/2016 12:39

Afternoon ladies😊

37+2 today, I've got another growth scan tomorrow, midwife next Tuesday, anaesthetic review appointment at the hospital next Wednesday and then c section day the following Tuesday. Getting nervous about it now but also totally can't wait to have my boy here 😀. One of the mums at ds' school was telling me yesterday that she only spent one night in hospital after her c section (for her 7th 😱 Baby) so I'm hoping I can get out after one night too for 3rd baby but I'm not getting my hopes up. My hospital bag was huge and looked like I was moving into the hospital for a month so now I've changed it to 2 bags. One with 1-2 nights of things and one to leave at home for dh to bring in if we have to stay in longer. Looks much better 😀

Dh got a letter yesterday saying he's not entitled to statutory paternity pay or leave because he hasn't worked for his company long enough. He needed to be working there from beginning of May but he dadn't start til mid June 😞 So he's just taking 2 weeks leave because we can't really afford for him to take time off with no pay.

Got my cotbed from my auntie today so gonna get that up later and sort the babies room out a bit.

I can guess which poster has been banned too. And I was gonna say that Till was on the Facebook group too 😊

Hope everyone's having a good day and we get more babies soon 😊
