OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

Goodness, it feels like I have ages to go - 34+3 today. My good news is, I just had a risk assessment at the birth centre that's 10 minutes away, and they're happy to have me go there. No 45 minute trip to the hospital on bumpy roads! (Provided everything goes well, of course.)

Had a bunch of BHs last night that were somewhat painful and kept waking me, but eased off after an hour or two. Last time, the difference between BHs and the real thing was very obvious to me when labour started; I hope it's the same again. I don't want to dither about going in.

It is frustrating isn't it XingXingFox - I can also feel the head under ribcase and little kicks right down by my foof!)..Sorry the acupuncture hasn't worked - how long ago was it?

The thing is I guess, is that baby can turn right up until the end, albeit not as likely the more time goes on. With the ECV - the way I look at it is I feel there might be a reason baby has decided to settle into that position (I had a low lying placenta at 20 weeks so could still be a bit in the way, not sure but I feel like baby knows best? ) It just doesn't sit right with me so I think i'd rather have a planned c-sec...well, or try and get into the mindset of both! Which is hard isn't it...I'm finding it quite difficult as we were hoping for homebirth! (feeling a bit silly that I thought I had some control over it now)

Good luck at the scan and I hope you feel clearer on how you feel on things tomorrow.

monkerina - I've begun to realise it's like getting married. Everyone gets so focuses on the day itself they forget the marriage that comes after! I keep trying to move on from focusing on the day itself and think about the data, weeks, months, years to come, but right now labour is looming and it's absorbing a lot of thoughts!

In positive news, just checked with Aviva - providers of our company private medical insurance - and once the baby's born I can claim a £100 cheque for a "Baby Bonus". Which is better than a kick in the teeth. Worth checking if you've got a policy through work - Aviva for one claim all their corporate policies include this, and it could cover some much missed wine nappies!

monkerina · 19/01/2016 17:36

Handbag, I totally agree with the wedding analogy :) And you just got me totally excited about potential baby bonus- til I remembered that my work is cheap and uses WPA Protocol, who don't offer anything at all! Curses!

MaryEllen1 · 19/01/2016 17:45

Oooo thanks for that handbag my company policy is with Aviva!! Will check when home :)

birdbrain21 · 19/01/2016 18:10

Just checking into new thread nothing new to report since last post. 39+2 today got my 39 week check tomorrow morning (unless of course I go into labour tonight ;) you never know!)

Sighing · 19/01/2016 18:41

Hi. I'm way behind most of you (due 26/2). I do get the stitch at the base of the bump sometimes. Generally when i get up too fast. He's taken to some uncomfortable squirming for me. Mostly when I'm driving. So I shall start avoiding that. I think he's trying to stretch in there!!
One more growth scan left (!)

Glad all is well whoknew. Did i miss news from midnight?

MidnightRun · 19/01/2016 20:10

No news here sighing :( tests tomorrow morning first thing, midwife said to have a bath and 2 paracetamol to ease any pains until then, unless it becomes unbearable or i have any water breaking! Tea and chocolates for now though. Fairly sure I'm going to go there tomorrow and waste their time, thankfully the midwives are much more lovely than my doctors!

Just seen that cat deely had her baby last week.. I was sure she was due way after me!

jellypi3 · 19/01/2016 20:13

Checking in to new thread. 38+5.

Sighing · 19/01/2016 20:14

Aw. If it helps at all. Baths are how I dealt with (what was) false labour. Hope all is well.

MidnightRun · 19/01/2016 20:21

I was put off the idea of a birthing pool during labour.. But a bath really does help the pains. And I'm full of the cold so double bonus! Just read about the aviva policy. Sending DH to look out the paperwork to see if we are entitled at all :p

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 19/01/2016 20:24

My god how the hell did Cat Deely give birth so quickly? 😮😮😮. She has only just announced and the last time I sa a picture of her, her bump was tiny!!!!

NorthernChinchilla · 19/01/2016 20:27

Signing in!
We'll be able to set up a thread in the post natal section of MN once we've all safely landed.

NorthernChinchilla · 19/01/2016 20:29

And good luck for Friday Isla, it'll all go swimmingly.

HandbagFan · 19/01/2016 20:36

Just saw the Cat Deeley news... She only announced on September 3rd, saying baby was due in the Spring... I don't think 2nd week of January counts as Spring so can only imagine the baby arrived early?

haquoi123 · 19/01/2016 20:56

Although announcing in September would be about 20 weeks, so it makes sense. Maybe she said spring so people would get off her back (I wish I'd said March, the amount of people getting in touch with me!)

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 19/01/2016 21:10

I think I'm just more shocked because she never really looked pregnant. Anyway the important thing is the baby is fine and well, it really has nothing to do with me 🙊🙊

MidnightRun · 19/01/2016 21:52

Lucky so and so looked skinnier during her pregnancy that I ever looked before pregnancy!

Iv just watched one episode of one born every minute and cried 3 times. DH came through and just looked at me Hmm

I think most celebrities say their due date is further in the future, they get away with it because they are so skinny. Bet Anne Hathaway has her baby soon!

My belly is covered in flea bites, making it extra itchy. My fav cat has been wanting to sit in my lap or on top of my bump all the time, turns out he had extra friends with him! Flea bites in your puckered belly button itch like an absolute bitch! Baby hates/loves the purring and kicks exactly where the cat is. 5kg of cat sat on top of a bump makes it very difficult to breathe!

haquoi123 · 19/01/2016 22:14

Oof rufus!!! Just thinking about it makes me itch! I love that the baby is thumping the cat, does he take it well?

Rufus200 · 19/01/2016 22:39

haquoi No he doesn't like being kicked, which is why he starts in my lap and then he climbs on top of the bump. He seems to think a kick up the arse is better then a kick in the head!

Rufus200 · 19/01/2016 22:46

Cat snuggled against bump being kicked in the head pic. DH has all the ones of him trying to suffocate me!

haquoi123 · 19/01/2016 22:47

Hahaha! At least he's getting to know bubs. My dad got 2 6mo kittens when my sister was 6mo. One of them would lie next to her and endure everything (I caught her poking him in the eye before I could stop her and he just winced...). The other kitten was smart and stayed well away.

haquoi123 · 19/01/2016 22:47

Awww!
