OK, OK, so we already had a couple of babies on the last thread, but we're going to struggle to keep up with the number of new arrivals in this one!!!

Baby arrived early hours of weds. 2.30 am. At 1030 I still thought contractions were false labour and were going to tail off. At 1230 dp woke up and insisted on timing them and ringing hospital while i was saying its not real labour and even if it is we've got ages yet. They told us to go straight in. Got there and they'd set up pool room for me. Mw asked me to do a wee. Couldn't do one as too much pressure. She did all the other checks etc was 6/7 cm. Got in the pool within three contractions was pushing. First push sent baby shooting down canal, 2nd head came out, third shoulders, 4th rest of baby. Then they wanted me to have natural third stage but I was in shock and a bit of a mess so they let me have injection after leaving her connected for ten mins or so. Then dp said I was completely fucked up for the next hour or so. I just remember awful after pains and feeling dizzy and sick.

Baby is gorgeous but I have had only a few hours sleep since mon night and am ruined. Dp gets no paternity leave so just had wed off work.

Nipples are killing me, hope milk comes soon

Troika · 26/02/2016 07:58

Congrats Mary Ellen

My mum is coming in a bit, will post more coherently after a few hours sleep. Hope prev post makes some sense.

Oh yeah dd was born in sac. Waters only went after she came out. Pretty cool!

monkerina · 26/02/2016 08:51

Congrats MaryEllen and Troika! And thanks so much for the sympathy and support Smile it was invaluable!

As it turned out, after a couple of days of stress and foul mood (Midnight Wink) I went into labour naturally at 7pm on weds, 40+6; after watching a LOT of Alan Partridge to keep upbeat and happy, went in to hospital about 12:30 at 5cm dilated, got into birthing pool around 2, he was born at 5:30am after lots of breathing and growling but no drugs. Physiological 3rd stage, and 2nd degree tear stitched up, then had a PPH and lost 1.5l of blood- waaaaay more intense than labour! Spent yesterday totally zoned out due to blood loss, but a bit more with it now and trying to get him to feed. So meet Daniel, 7lb15!

Congratulations troika and monkerina

MaisieDotes · 26/02/2016 10:56

Congratulations troika and monk!!!

So glad your babies are finally here Smile Smile

NorthernChinchilla · 26/02/2016 11:39

Wow, two impressive birth stories there!

I'm not surprised you were in shock troika, that sounds intense. I'm sure once your Mum has arrived and you can get a few hours' sleep you'll feel a bit better. And baby being born in the caul (think that's the term) is very very cool.

Daniel- and his awesome hat- is lovely monkerina. Again, not surprised you're a bit out of it with that PPH.

Massive Flowers both! Hope you're home soon.

MaryEllen1 · 26/02/2016 11:42

Congratulations troika and monkerina ThanksThanks

MidnightRun · 26/02/2016 16:50

Possibly in the latent phase here... Lots of tightenings for the past few hours, proper good ones that take my breath away. But no real pain, just dull back pain and a kind of dull stabbing in my lower abdomen. No doubt it'll die away and become nothing but ordering curry for tea just incase!

MidnightRun · 26/02/2016 16:52

Congrats monk, what an absolutely handsome little guy he is.. No doubt you are totally besotted! Glad the actual birth went well, hope recovery is going better now, sounds like you deserve a good sleep! Thanks

MaisieDotes · 26/02/2016 18:52

Sounds promising midnight good luck!

monkerina · 29/02/2016 11:03

Any news Midnight? It's all gone a bit quiet now- are all the babies here now?

MidnightRun · 29/02/2016 11:18

False labour on Friday I think Sad constant back ache and pulling sensation today but Nada other than that! Looks like it's a March babe for me! How have you settled in with little one monk?

monkerina · 29/02/2016 11:48

Well I'm a March child so obv March babies are a good thing Smile Time to get bouncing on a ball? I filled up our garden wheelie bin with raked-up leaves about 3 hrs before labour started! (and DH gave me jewellery, so can also recommend that as a tip...)

We've settled in nicely thank you- my mother arrived for an uninvited 2-night stay less than 24hrs after getting out of hospital so we invited PiLs too to annoy her/get visits over and done with, and since 10:30 this morning have finally been on our own as a family- bliss!

NorthernChinchilla · 29/02/2016 12:48

I think everyone should now just come over to the post natal group- keep us all together and stop the now-to-be-March crew getting lonely!

haquoi123 · 01/03/2016 09:23

How're you getting on midnight?

MidnightRun · 01/03/2016 10:21

Failed sweep and still no sign.. This little lady is very stubborn! DH finally has a quiet week at work so anytime now would be great! Midwife tomorrow to organise induction :( Booo

monkerina · 01/03/2016 12:03

Ahh baby Midnight (1am?) just isn't quite ready to face the big bad world yet... She'll come out eventually, can't stay in there forever!

haquoi123 · 01/03/2016 18:43

How far are you now? Sending labour vibes! I do swear though, dancing put me in labour and was great fun.

MidnightRun · 02/03/2016 11:25

I'm 41w exactly.. Baby midnight had been given one week exactly then she's being forcibly evicted at 8.30 next wed.. I really didn't want to be induced, but it is such a relief just to know that by next weekend there will be a baby! Grin

birdbrain21 · 02/03/2016 16:14

I've lost the postnatal group (my fault for not posting for ages) can someone link to it please

haquoi123 · 06/03/2016 14:30
