June 2016 #6, Blue? Pink? Yellow? Where did the first 20 weeks go?
laughingGnomette · 26/01/2016 20:37

I had a look at the January postnatal thread on here today and kind of wish I hadn't! The memories of the first few weeks came flooding back after nearly four years. I'm starting to get nervous now! Eek!

Violet88 · 26/01/2016 20:46

Congratulations laughing beautiful baby!! Did you say we were due date buddies? (10th June) x

Mindful try going for a walk, that should help! x

Violet88 · 26/01/2016 20:53

Ive just seen it wasn't you it was Grubby x

mrsmugoo · 26/01/2016 21:09

Just had a scan through the Jan postnatal thread too Laughing... Also dreading going back to square one with being up all night but reading those posts I kind of want to shout "it's NORMAL!!" when they're complaining about un-put-downable babies and know that this time round I won't think my baby is broken just because she'll not sleep in the Moses basket. I'll be snuggled up in bed with her with a boob in her gob for as long as she wants.

emma85x · 26/01/2016 21:27

Congratulations laughingnomette Fabulous picture!!!

GrubbyWindows · 26/01/2016 22:19

Coldest · 26/01/2016 23:27

TomboyGirl · 27/01/2016 03:50

Sorry, meant to say congratulations to all the scanees!

chillipopcorn1 · 27/01/2016 05:38

Hi all! Goodness this thread moves fast - I haven't posted for ages but have been trying to keep up with all the news (GORGEOUS scan photos - makes me so excited for mine on Saturday) and have updated the document to add my details. I'm 20 weeks today Grin which is past halfway for me (twins) - woop! Still feel like time is dragging though. Keep reading people saying that they are starting not to be able to do up their trousers - Blush haven't seen a pair of trousers since I was about 14 weeks. Firmly in maternity wear with a stonking bump and have put on 6/7kg!
I can feel our two kicking away now which is awesome. Haven't brought anything yet but my mum is coming to visit us in March and she has got nursing pillow, wraps, Weego twin carrier, breast pump and bouncy chair! A friend has promised all her teeny baby cast off clothes as well so I feel like it's starting to come together...anyone else feel totally panicked? I spent about 8 hours on Sunday reading about buggies and got myself into a right tizz!

strawberrypenguin · 27/01/2016 07:28

Lovely scan pic laughing glad you had a good scan too grubby

Gosh your doing well if your still in normal trousers I've been in May ones for weeks! Although I think my stomach muscles knew what was coming and surrendered this time!

nehagarg · 27/01/2016 07:47

chilli I am the same. Very panicky and havent bought anything yet. And do t get me started of prams. Every time I try and get some details, i get a headache within 30 minutes. Sad ... My parents have got us a car seat and a baby bouncer though and a friend is also giving us cast offs when we see her in a week so at least we will have something.

Planning to do bulk shopping (for big stuff) at the baby show if we can find good deals. If not, we still have 4 months. Though it feels only like yesterday that I was saying I still have 5. Blush

I've been in mat wear since about 14 weeks too.

Lovely picture laughing. Glad you had a good scan Grubby. My growth scan is in a couple of weeks for them to measure baby's head again. Beginning to freak out.

Eastend2015 · 27/01/2016 08:52

Lovely scans all! Beginning to feel a little more excited and a little less anxious about my scan on Monday now. Last Monday we saw the consultant and had a surprise listen to the heart beat which was amazing. I don't think we actually heard it at 12 weeks.

Can someone add me to the stats? I'm having trouble this end. 34, no DC, EDD 20th June, based in London and team yellow. Thanks!

laughingGnomette · 27/01/2016 08:53

violet - my official due date is the 14th but I'm fairly certain I'll be having an ELCS which will mean the baby being delivered at 39 weeks.

Welcome coldest! I'm also bigger much faster this time. My jeans and work trousers are a distant memory.

mrsmugoo - so true!! I don't know any babies that slept contentedly in their Moses basket through the night.

chilli - how lovely! Can you feel them kicking at the same time but in different places? :) good luck for Saturday!

Coldest · 27/01/2016 10:00

Laughing your scan is so cute.

I am still dithering between. VBAC and ELCS. I have changed my hospital from last and am so far very pleased with the level of care. Everything very streamlined and all appointments on time not waiting around for hours to be seen.

Chilli are you having twins?

Cartooner · 27/01/2016 10:02

Wonderful scans and updates everyone. It's very exciting! I'm 22 weeks on Monday next, I haven't seen trousers in weeks either, only maternity gear now.

I'm getting a bit worried that from now on is the time I am liable to pile on the wieght, for now I'm fairly ok, but the sweet tooth is starting up like something else! I am on an exercise no-no till the scan due to bleeding... so hoping it's all clear Monday and I can hit the pavement and get slightly fit. I walked up two flights of stairs this morning and had to stop at the top to gather myself! FFS!

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/01/2016 10:51

Has anybody not gained weight or lost weight. I'm 21+3 and am half a stone lighter than my pre pregnancy weight and my weight hasn't changed since my booking appointment. Was overweight to begin with, still am. Should I be worried?

Talcott2007 · 27/01/2016 11:03

Eeeekk! My 20w scan is tomorrow. I feel like I have been waiting forever for it you get here. I'm getting more impatient by the second! genuinely can't concentrate on anything right now - it's like a wild animal is scratching around in my skull - much like the wild animal currently squirming around in my stomach! Just hope little one stays still long enough for them to find out which team we are on - DP will be gutted if we can't find out!

chillipopcorn1 · 27/01/2016 12:33

Nehagarg - god the Prams are a total mind game. PILs have offered to pay which is so generous but also means I can't use price as an excuse and just go 'fuck it we'll have the cheapest' which is what I'd like to do! Great about baby show - you'll be able to try so much out there. Let me know what you decide!
Laughinggnomette- there's certainly a lot of squirming but it's hard to pinpoint two separate entities iyswim?
Coldest - yes having twins! Eek! And my first. That's good about new hospital. What's pushing you towards Elcs? That's what I'll be having as no doctor in my hospital prepared to try natural. It's a shame but also removes the decision from my hands in a way.
Cartooner - natch with the sweet tooth! Weird as usually such a savoury person. Dreading the looming tremendous weight gain (stretch marks)...

Coldest · 27/01/2016 12:44

Good luck talcott2007.

17caterpillars, in my first pregnancy I only gained weight in last two months and that too only 10 lbs. I was not underweight and no one was concerned.

Coldest · 27/01/2016 12:47

that's so exciting chilli!! Congratulations
ELCS unfortunately one of my cousins had a very bad experience with VBAC recently and that has scared me. Will still keep options open as the midwives said I have until 35 weeks to decide.

nehagarg · 27/01/2016 13:03

Chilli Someone on here suggested to make a list of your priorities in a pram. Helps narrow the elephantine list down. I have been doing that and have been able to discount quite a lot that would never have worked for me.

Sorry I forgot who the guardian angel was but thanks .. you made my life a lot easier Smile

My one seems to have figured out that my cervix is the way out. He has spent quite a lot of time kicking it recently. Feels like someone has kicked me in the groin, after a while ... which I guess someone has Blush

coldest - I'm not sure if you've seen it but I found this paper quite useful/interesting: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/store/10.1111/1471-0528.12508/asset/bjo12508.pdf;jsessionid=DB02DCFF13FA320115BC854510FE4629.f02t04?v=1&t=ijwupkwj&s=1ef8ab9e3394a8c94f90353e7be4fa4789a1d0e6
It's an analysis of the take up and success rates for VBACS. It's quite reassuring to see that the success rates are quite good (and my consultant was keen to point this out). When you drill down into the reasons for Cs in the first baby it can sway things a bit though. For example, ladies (as in my case) who had an EMCS due to failure of induction have a poor uptake and success rate. Food for thought. :)
