Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

Hi kimblesj, waving from the Oct 2013 bus...

kimblesj · 01/01/2016 16:34

Wahoo!

foxessocks · 01/01/2016 17:33

I've also got cramp like pains this afternoon and it's getting quite painful. Almost like trapped wind. Not sure if I should be worried or if it's normal.

ohanami · 02/01/2016 16:22

Belated happy new year - I hope 2016 has got off to a good start for you all. I'm cooped up at home hiding from the rain, it feels like it's never going to stopSad

Dh and dd are away today so I'm at a bit of a loose end, I thought I'd enjoy the quiet time but I'm secretly a little bored without them.

globetrotter2016 · 02/01/2016 17:39

Hi everyone!

I am completely new to mumsnet and completely new to the game- don't understand half of the abbreviations you use! Had a rather big surprise this New Year's Eve with two blue lines- yikes! EDD about 9/9/16- first order ever placed by myself! ;)
I must say I am absolutely clueless and quite scared but also excited. Once I start thinking about it I freak out a bit so I am now alternating between head in the sand and obsessively googling anything from pregnancy yoga to air travel restrictions.
Symptom wise I have super sore boobs and a pulling feeling in my pelvis. I did but the bloating down to the XMAS food marathon but this excuse is wearing thin now. The thing that is bothering me the most is that I have lost all control over my emotions- I have cried about five times today which is my usual yearly amount shed on day 2 of January!!!
So hello new friends and may the force be with us....

sparklystars20 · 02/01/2016 17:51

Hello!! Welcome to the club! Smile

I am now approx 5+2 and I have been feeling hideous the last few days until mid-afternoon when I suddenly get really hungry (but only for specific savoury things!)

Dreading going back to work on Mon feeling how I have been Confused I don't do 'feeling unwell' at all well!

nailsathome · 02/01/2016 21:29

Can I join? I got my accidental bfp on NY day. I only gave birth 7 months ago so it's taking a while to sink in!

I'm really worried about telling work - I haven't even gone back yet

rachywhite83 · 03/01/2016 07:56

Does anyone else wake up feeling like they have never slept in there life ? I'm exhausted and it doesn't help having really vivid dreams.

Mummabear88 · 03/01/2016 08:02

Hello and congratulations to all the mummy's to be! I'm due 1st September with DC2; DC1 is 15 months! Had awful morning sickness last time which lasted my whole pregnancy! Also had lots of early bleeding. Feeling much better second time around but very tired! Smile

genome · 03/01/2016 08:27

Same here rachy! My mind is awake, but my body feels like I've run a marathon!

Errrnerrr · 03/01/2016 08:33

Hi everyone, please can I join? I didn't get a positive test until 5 days after AF was due so I was convinced I was out! I'm due early September with dc2. I am also a teacher! Congratulations, everyone.

peardrop2 · 03/01/2016 08:38

Rachy - YES YES YES! I feel exactly like that. Vivid dreams and soooo tired when I wake even when I've slept!!!

nailsathome · 03/01/2016 09:15

I get the dreams too!

And I'm a teacher

ohanami · 03/01/2016 10:12

I don't get the tiredness when I first wake up (yet...) but have the hugest afternoon dip. I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow. Thankfully still feeling ok physically as I have an hour's drive to work to contend with which will be grim with nausea added in. Remember last time trying to explain to my mum why I kept a tesco bag on the passenger seat without telling her the real purpose of the emergency sick bag Wink

Those of you with an older dc/dcs, when/how are you planning on telling them? Dd is about to turn 2 so not sure she'll really get the concept of a new baby (or appreciate it when it gets here!)

SewSlapdash · 03/01/2016 11:35

Probably not until about 20 weeks ohanami. Not much point before then and he won't understand much anyway. We're going to try to find out the sex this time, so that might help with the understanding.

mistletoeprickles · 03/01/2016 15:27

Does anyone else feel like they've done 1000's of sit ups? My poor stomach muscles really ache.
Theres two factors to consider here though, it's my fourth pregnacy (2 m/c) and I'm on progestrone pessaries.

Purplypinkstar · 03/01/2016 17:55

Hi!! I'm new to mumsnet. But I got a surprise bfp yesterday. This will be baby number 4! I've got 3 girls already. Youngest will be 2 in February and we are still bf. I think my due date is 30 August but I've gone 10-15 days over due previously!

icklekid · 03/01/2016 20:41

Congratulations purply and welcome!

ohanami ds is only 18 months now so will wait until tell every at 12 week scan and hope all the gradual big brother comments are enough

I feel sick all morning and exhausted all afternoon. ...except today when sick and exhausted all afternoon! Got medicine from gp but sickness isn't as bad as last pregnancy (couldn't keep anything down) so feel I should just cope...dreading work on Tuesday!

Hedgeh0g · 03/01/2016 20:42

Can I join in? Expecting dc2 9th September. Quite nervous this time round as since dc1 was born I've been diagnosed hypothyroid, which carries an increased risk of miscarriage, and my levels only just stabilised at the recommended level for pregnancy. Feeling a bit queasy today, but not sure if that's just the thought of going back to work tomorrow! but otherwise no symptoms - last time boobs were really sore which was what prompted me to test, but this time not- and I'd notice as I'm still breastfeeding dc1. Trying to tell myself every pregnancy is different but can't help but worry...

balalalala · 03/01/2016 20:57

I'm getting the sit up feeling! I'm also feeling constantly bloated and look about 5 months pregnant not 5 weeks!

ohanami · 03/01/2016 23:15

Hi hedgeh0g and purply - congratulations! Fingers crossed your thyroid behaves itself for the next few months hedgeh0g and everything goes smoothly.

Dd is getting a doll and buggy for her birthday - maybe we can get her used to the doll being "her baby" for a few weeks then introduce the idea of a real baby nearer the time? I think we're going to find out the gender too sew, I think that would help her get used to the idea.

Discovered a wonderful new pregnancy side effect tonight - hives on the back of my legs. Hope this is a short lived thing, I had to take my trousers off to cope with the itching!

sparklystars20 · 04/01/2016 07:02

Good luck everyone going back to work today!!! ConfusedBlushShock

nailsathome · 04/01/2016 09:18

Hedgeh0g I'm still bf'ing and my boobs don't hurt either

peardrop2 · 04/01/2016 09:43

Just called to book in my midwife appointment. She's so booked up I have to wait until 3rd Feb when I'll be 11 weeks by AF date ShockSad At least I know in reality I'll be 10 weeks because of my late OV date. Good to see there has been no improvement on that side of things since having my first baby Hmm

ohanami · 04/01/2016 10:29

Thanks sparkly! I put off my return by booking my gp appointment this morning. Saw my favourite gp who was lovely as always, he's already referred me to the consultant so should expect to hit the hospital about 12 weeks, and booking in appointment is now booked. Suddenly feels very real and exciting... but now I really do have to go to work... and concentrate...

I've only just stopped bf and my bobs definitely aren't as sore as they were last time. Was really sad to stop but need to take medication so it felt like the right time (she's two this week - we have little chats about "tasty milk". Last week she told me it was chocolate milk!!)
