Hi ladies,

I've been TTC2 for 1.5 years and I've just found out I'm pregnant Smile 1 day before Xmas eve! Best present ever! Anyone else celebrating a bfp this Christmas? I've already had to dodge chocolate mousse, champagne and Stilton...all worth it though!! Grin

Bobs? You know what I mean... my autocorrect is a bit prudish Grin

Hedgeh0g · 04/01/2016 12:21

Thanks for the reassurance Nails. Funnily enough boobs do feel 'weird' today, not sore, but I'll take that, as in not sure bf will be fun if they do get sore!

Got an appointment with my GP Thursday to review my meds, they should be increased as soon as I get pregnant, although I've heard GP's aren't always very good about following guidelines so hopefully I won't have a fight on my hands. Need to find out when I get referred to consultant endocrinologist as well.

Trying not to be too nervous but my condition's hereditary and my Mum had 2 miscarriages between me and my brother before finding out she was hypothyroid.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/01/2016 14:15

Hello, can I join, or is this thread for teachers only? Wink

LetThereBeCupcakes, Age 33, DC2 due 2nd September.

Pear how LOVELY to see you here. I was on the TTC while BFing thread before I fell off.

I am in utter shock. Despite TTCing DC2, we've not tried very hard for various reasons so wasn't expecting my BFP this month. I'm not sure of my dates as a stupidly forgot to note down my dates last month. Only took a test because I've been weeing ALL MORNING. The line is REALLY dark and came up instantly so I guess I'm not that early on! Will have to ring Midwife and see what they say.

I can't stop thinking about the kilo of brie my mum gave me for Christmas, all portioned up and in the freezer. Useless. Grin

icklekid · 04/01/2016 14:22

Sorry cupcake teachers only 😉 obviously only joking! Welcome!

I have sympathy for the brie we have the most amazing pate which we saved for Christmas and then I got my bfp on Christmas Eve!

hedgehog fingers crossed for no fights required and helpful gp's

peardrop2 · 04/01/2016 15:35

You can freeze Brie? Really? Wow! My mum has also piled loads of smelly cheese in my fridge and I would love to get rid of it somehow without it going in the bin!! Although if I freeze it nothing will happen to it as no doubt it needs to be eaten before we pop!

Congratulations cupcake! I'm wildly envious of your relaxed findings Wink Only because I've been a Ttc nutter (so much so I even diagnosed myself with PCOS until that was ruled out last month) lol GrinHow do you know your EDD is 2nd? You could be due in August! The midwife is going to love you SmileWink

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/01/2016 16:11

2nd is a guess, based on roughly how long the previous cycle was.

We shall gloss over the fact that my cycle hasn't completely settled after having DS...

Hurr1cane · 04/01/2016 16:45

Can I join please? Found out I am pregnant today, EDD 7th September!

Purplypinkstar · 04/01/2016 17:08

My sickness has started today, makes it all real. Had terrible sickness from 6 weeks till day after giving birth with all 3 girls. Really hoping this one is different! However it makes me think that I may be 6 weeks now!!

GuessHowMuch · 04/01/2016 18:21

That was the longest day back at work ever - got put on cover too so had a full day teaching for my first day back. I'm absolutely shattered and going to skip my marking tonight and hopefully get it done tomorrow instead. Hope all the other teachers have had good days back in the 'office'. Booked in to see docs on Wed as I have to sort medications etc out. Will ask about booking in then - I'm only 4+3 today though so still super early.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 04/01/2016 19:57

Hi Hurr1cane - I saw your thread on the pregnancy board. Congratulations on the BFP and hope all goes well! You have an older DS, don't you?

I'm on the PC now rather than my phone so can post properly! I've had different symptoms this time round, nothing specific but just generally feel different to last time. With DS I had NO symptoms at all. This time I have sore boobs, that stretching feeling in my abdomen and a bit of indigestion! Lovely. I had a really easy pregnancy first time round so really hoping this isn't a sign that it's not going to be so easy!

DH is in shock, I think - bless him! It all seems quite daunting, knowing what we're in for this time round! DS was not an easy baby at all (didn't sleep through until 14 months!) so I'm hoping we don't have to go through that again.

Would anybody mind if I started a list of our stats? I'm rubbish at remembering details and it was great on my last thread.

Hello and congratulations everyone! I got a BFP this morning and am so excited.

I have a DS already, who is almost one. I said I was going to have a year off being pregnant before we tried again but decided to just see what happened a few weeks ago and here we are! I didn't believe the first test as it was an old expired one, so did two.

I'd forgotten to keep track of my dates but reckon due date might be around 4th. Haven't been to see the GP so will ring tomorrow.

balalalala · 04/01/2016 20:30

Wow so many, well done on building a list! Yes, dc1 for me! I've also got a first appointment with the doctor on Wednesday.

Weplusthree · 04/01/2016 20:41

Hello ladies!
Been trying for a few months and thought this month we probably hadn't BD enough but 4 days late. Took a pg test and BFP! Test line darker than the control line and everything Shock in total shock!
Due date- 8th sept but my last 2 were CS babies so I reckon baby will be scheduled in around 1st September Grin
Baby number 3, eek!!

sophied1983 · 04/01/2016 21:09

Doctor put my EDD at 2nd September :)

prettyflowers111 · 04/01/2016 21:49

Hi all, mind if I join. My due date is August 27th and I've been floating around the august thread but feeling very far behind. 6+2 today and there's ladies on there nearly 11 weeks waiting for the 12 week scan. That seems like ageeees away to me yet :( I've not yet seen my gp, will be going up tomorrow or Wednesday I think. I've booked an early scan for 2 weeks time (8+2) as we're visiting the in laws when I'm around 9 weeks and would really like to tell them then providing all is still well by then. There's a place near me that charges just £40 for an early scan and gives a 10% discount for booking online... I can't say no to that, but now can't wait... 14 sleeps as dd would say!

Is anyone else an obsessive knicker checker/toilet tissue inspector? I'm loosing my mind over it!

TheMasterMurderedMargarita · 04/01/2016 22:11

Hello and congratulations everyone!
This will be DC2 all being well. Big gap though as DD is 8.

Due end of August I think. Not exactly sure as periods were all over the place after MC in June last year.
Completely taken us by surprise. I'm still in shock I think.
I have had lots of symptoms mentioned here - tender boobs, very tired, cramps, nausea, weird sleeping/dreams and also light-headed and a bit more out of breath than usual. Barrel of laughs me Grin.

nailsathome · 04/01/2016 22:13

I love a list Smile

DC 3 for me, due 11th sept although DD was 2 weeks early and DS was 3.

I am knicker checking although less so this time around. Had an mmc with my first pregnancy so I'll never relax in a pregnancy I don't think! I've been very crampy today too.

I've gotten myself into a state this evening going through finances. I'm having to completely change plans regarding work because of this pregnancy and I'm a little bit stressed/resentful about it.

Those of you with a really small age gap between dcs, are you worried about it? I don't know how I'm going to cope with 2 under 2!

WePlusThree · 04/01/2016 23:15

Nailsathome- my two are just under 12 months apart and trust me it's not as bad as you think, as long as you have one thing- organisation.
It requires military planning and a bag full of everything you'll ever need for baby and toddler but honestly, you get the bad days like any other baby/child/toddler combo it's mostly lovely :)
This baby will be DC3 for us. DD is 3, DS is 2 so there will be roughly a 3 year gap this time!

peardrop2 · 04/01/2016 23:37

Nails - Nearly all my friends have been lucky enough to achieve a small gap and they've all coped fine. They say when the time comes you just do what you've got to do Smile

Can I join please? We had a positive test on xmas day and am now 5 plus 3 weeks. This will be our first child and we had IVF to get here

sophied1983 · 05/01/2016 07:14

Congratulations wineandcheeseplease - you must be ovr the moon!!!

Our due dates must be about the same then (2nd Sept for me).

LetThereBeCupcakes · 05/01/2016 07:27

Welcome everyone! I shall try and update the list later, when I can get to the pc (unless someone else beats me tonight!)

I was thinking this morning about age gaps. DS will be 3.8 when this little one arrives. My friend is expecting her third in June. Her first is a couple of months younger than my DS, so she'll have managed to have three children in between my two! She seems to cope well, she's generally a very calm person. I'm permanently on the point of hysteria, though! Grin

wineandcheeseplease · 05/01/2016 07:48

Yes, it's around the 3rd I think! Got a scan 2 weeks today to check all is okay
