Internal scans are not very invasive at all and give you a much better view in early pregnancy.

M2B816 · 29/12/2015 12:24

I am feeling awful today, food smells like rubbish and first day back to work did not help! Have been very close to throwing up, unlucky me, toilet is very far away from my desk. Will this ever get better? Sad

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/12/2015 13:07

pretty you don't have to have any of that stuff! Well, except the birth part of course Grin when I was pg with DD I had nothing internal except 1 exam the morning I was in labour. That was it! And I wouldn't bother with any exams at all next time round. When we get a bit closer to due dates I will redo my 'you don't have to accept any medical procedure you don't want' speech Wink
In my experience private scans don't do internal, I've had one at 8 weeks in a previous pregnancy and that was external. You'll probably manage to avoid the vag-cam! It's true that they do give a much better picture though.
M2B it will get better! I've had a few times where I've had to sit in the bathroom doing deep breaths. Most people get through it by 14 weeks at the latest so there is light at the end of the tunnel. You poor thing being back at work, that's pants.
DH has taken DD swimming today so I'm in Costa with a tea and a gingerbread biscuit (to help the nausea). I get a bit overloaded if I don't get enough time on my own. It's so nice to just sit quietly and recharge the batteries without "mummy mummy mummy" in my ear every 10 seconds. I'll appreciate her that much more when I get back!

Mummystar123 · 29/12/2015 13:19

'Dildocam' Xmas Grin
It's lovely having a big family but boy do I feel fooked at the moment. So so tired but were off to the park, I've hot a costa latte and the kids can run around like lunatics! Happy days!

7 weeks. Little bean with a flickering heart beat

Congratulations Christine

SharyBobbins · 29/12/2015 15:31

Aww congratulations Christine!

Just had a cup of tea & suddenly felt nauseous.. realised that the same happened this morning after a cuppa & some porridge. I think I could be developing my first adversion (to tea or warmed milk maybe?). Has anyone else gone right off something they'd normally love/like?!

quitecrunchy · 29/12/2015 16:05

Congratulations Christine! Was that by external or dildocam? Wink.

I haven't had any weird food aversions or cravings yet at all but still haven't hit 6 weeks though so no doubt it will come. Tea would be the worst aversion I could imagine though! Hope it passes shary

Christinedonna · 29/12/2015 16:09

Thank you! That was external (first time we've had any luck with it)

M2B816 · 29/12/2015 17:03

Thanks four. Glad I survived the day, had a guy eating beef jerky right in front of me and I obviously nearly had sick all over him! Can't stand any processed meat at the moment, the thought of it really puts me off.

Congrats Christine! Still no call from midwife (7 weeks today,I think?)

HazzaB89 · 29/12/2015 18:00

Hello all! May I join please. This will be baby number 2 and due date is August 24th (my birthday!) Congratulations to you, Christine!

HazzaB89 · 29/12/2015 18:03

Ooh and do we have a Facebook group yet?

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 29/12/2015 18:14

Hey guys,

I'm also just slowly surviving, nausea is pretty bad from about 3/4pm onwards.
I also have a terrible cough, which is keeping me awake. Does anybody know if I can take cough medicine? The internet seems mixed and wondering if anybody has previously asked midwife/doctor?

Eminado · 29/12/2015 18:15

Hi alfie you can take Glycerol
which I found useless, sorry

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 29/12/2015 18:35

Ugh, I suspect it will be useless! It's horrible because it makes me feel more nauseous and my stomach muscles are so sore from continuous coughing.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/12/2015 18:41

Congratulations Christine! Brilliant news Grin
And welcome Hazza, no fb group yet as far as I know.
M2B I'm not going for my booking in appt til 11.5 weeks, obviously not suggesting you leave it that late but they are probably running on skeleton staff what with Xmas and everything, I'd give it another week and then chase them up.

OwlinaTree · 29/12/2015 18:49

Hi all, glad to see some more lovely scans. What great news.

I just can't stop eating today. Had jacket spud with cheese and beans for lunch then had to have a toasted teacake straight away as still hungry Blush

MrsZumbaDancer · 29/12/2015 19:02

Ooh jacket with cheese and beans was all I ate for about 5 weeks with my DS when nausea was bad! Might have to get some!

I've gone off coffee (same as before) and feel better when I eat. Having dominos when DS goes to bed as really fancy it Smile

Christinedonna · 29/12/2015 19:04

I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow! I've eaten 5 bags of quavers all day as that's the only thing I can manage

MrsSantaClause · 29/12/2015 19:08

Ooh jackets sound like just the thing.. I've been sooooo hungry today, but haven't been shopping yet since Xmas so had to put some pigs in blankets in the oven, which made me feel even worse SadI've gone off all drinks as well except for Diet Coke and lime and lemonade. Can't wait for this bit to be over, I really can't remember feeling this bad last time. Sad

hgleslie89 · 29/12/2015 19:16

I've been mostly living off soup, smoothies and yoghurt for the last 3 weeks. Although I can't face eating a lot of the time, if I force myself I seem to be able to keep things down. Can't imagine what vomiting all day must be like, mine's only first thing in the morning although I feel sick almost constantly.

Christinedonna · 29/12/2015 19:19

Think the OH is going to be sent to Tesco after eastenders (he doesn't know it yet) but a meal deal sounds good right now

SharyBobbins · 29/12/2015 19:24

OH nipped out before to grab us some pizzas because I couldn't face cooking. They didn't have our usual brand so he bought an alternative. They were rank! I ate it though so he didn't feel bad. A jacket potato sounds good right now!!

HazzaB89 · 29/12/2015 19:26

DH is insisting on turkey curry this evening. I'm not sure how that is going to go down!

PickleBot · 29/12/2015 20:09

Christine woo hoo!

8+5 today and after nearly a week of feeling okay the morning sickness is back. It's always dinner time! DH hates cooking too. Oh well, he'll cope. I think DS is processing slowly, his cuddly hobby horse thing had a sex change this morning (Galahad to Daisy) then had a baby (called Galahad) and then trend back into Galahad again. Very confusing!
