Congrats Christine!

Shary I've gone off tea too! I can manage a cup in the morning but that's it! Nausea is ridiculous now, nothing sea appealingly all. I can manage quavers, pizza, fruit, yoghurt but most other thing are yuk especially casseroles and stews! Tbh even the things I do like I don't want, I have to eat all the time yet I don't want anything it's a total nightmare!

Does anyone know if actually being sick helps? I get so close and stop myself because I think my tummy will be empty so then I'll feel worse? Agh! Even looking at my phone makes me ill.

Midwife tomorrow, I'll be 9 weeks x

LeoLemur · 29/12/2015 20:38

Wow I'm struggling to keep up with all the action on here! Lots of news and chat to keep up with. I've just been for my 'tell the dr' appt, she offered to refer me for an early scan but annoyingly I've got work travel coming up as soon as the hols are out the way (thank goodness i'm feeling well!) so will have to wait patiently for my 12 week booking scan... Dr asked me which hospital I'd like to go to- I was not prepped! From what I can tell none local are excellent... HazzaB my EDD is also dangerously close to coinciding with my birthday but I'm hoping my dating scan will right that!

squigglepants · 29/12/2015 21:29

I have been reading everything but struggling with the last week so not responded. Lovely to see some scans happening.
Hasn't been a day gone by that I have kept down all my meals since I peed on a stick. I certainly don't remember it being this early with my last two. I am 6+1 today.
The babydaddy came over today to talk about the future and left me feeling angry, upset and frustrated. He probably won't be having anything to do with us going forward Sad Confused Angry

FourForYouGlenCoco · 29/12/2015 21:48

Oh no squiggle I'm sorry to hear that, how are you feeling about it all? Pregnancy hormones really don't help at a time like this! I'm sure you've heard of it, but you could try travel sickness bands? I've seen some people swear by them before.

Totally unrelated and not really important - but there is now a September 2016 club! We're moving up in the world!

hgleslie89 · 29/12/2015 22:04

Jw I always feel a bit better after being sick. It doesn't last for long, but it's better than holding it in all the time. Vomiting on an empty stomach is definitely worse, I find it's not so bad if I've managed to eat something a bit bigger the previous evening. Would that be an option?

Dileas29 · 29/12/2015 22:13

Today I ventured out for travel bands, boots, super drug, savers and local pharmacy had none! Felt even more nauseated after this search and had to dash into greggs for a sausage roll...healthy!
I hope everyone finds this phases eases up soon, or for new year anyway!
Had my booking in apt today, confirmed I've to receive IV during labour as DD had strep and was seriously ill so that is s relief to know it'll be prevented at all costs

Eminado · 29/12/2015 22:27

Four ginger capsules from health food shops really helped with my nausea the time before last - maybe try those?

Somnambulator · 29/12/2015 22:37

Hello to all the new ladies!

I've finally come back to work after a week of being so very sick all day long. Luckily keeping food and liquids down now. These late shifts are a bit taxing though, cannot wait for midnight to come around. It's definitely frowned on as a doctor to take your breaks and I often end up working through forgetting to eat, drink or pee!

9+3 today, booking next week.

squigglepants · 29/12/2015 22:43

The hormones certainly aren't helping! Have spent large chunks of today with my eyes leaking.
A part of me is glad he wants to walk away because then he can't hurt us. But another part of me is sad to lose him and also sad this baby might not know its father. Pretty sure I haven't heard the last from him and I have told him I will keep him informed about scan dates etc in case he wants to come.
Not sure where else to talk about this stuff because I haven't told many people about the pregnancy yet. Sorry ladies.

Eminado · 29/12/2015 22:59

Sorry squiggle, hope he comes round, if you want him to.

Jw35 · 29/12/2015 23:02

Squiggle it's his loss! Sorry you're going through this Thanks if it's any consolation (probably not) I'm having this baby alone by choice!
Leo it's funny you say that about your birthday. Id LOVE a baby born on my birthday! My one year old is 1 day off my star sign and I was so hoping she'd be a Sagittarius like me!
GlenCo wow September 2016! We have graduated! Lol that's mad and sounds so far away!

Thanks whoever said about being sick, might not bother holding back next time! Feeling so rough

ToElleWithIt · 30/12/2015 08:51

Squiggle I'm sorry. Were you in a relationship? Either way, it's his loss and if he's not going to be on the scene then you're nearly better finding that out now and planning accordingly although I know it must still be heart-breaking.

Welcome to all the newbies!

Managed to get through Christmas without anyone noticing that I wasn't really drinking (though happily accepting glasses and putting them down) so I think that we'll just hang tight until after our appointment on the 21st Jan.

MrsSantaClause · 30/12/2015 09:17

Must be tough squiggle, but as others have said better to know right at the start I suppose. Do you have other family support nearby? Thanks

BuffaloCustardbath · 30/12/2015 09:19

Morning all! Reading about jacket potatoes has made me crave one so bad - I can't wait for lunchtime haha! Is anyone else affected by the storm yet? The winds here are awful, we were going to take DD out for a walk so she can try out her new Scramblebug outside but I think she would be blown away!! Poor kid, it's been non-stop raining until last night and now the wind!

I'm going to wait till Monday then refer myself to the midwife.
I've had good intentions of going swimming all week but I haven't managed it yet so I'm going to make a big effort and so that today.

BuffaloCustardbath · 30/12/2015 09:24

Oh I'm so sorry squiggle my post sounds so insensitive, I missed a couple of pages out when I was catching up on reading the latest posts and I didn't see yours. So sorry to hear you're having a rotten time - he will look back on his actions in the future and really regret treating you all this way, there's no doubt about that. Do you have family/close friends nearby? Whereabouts in the country are you? I bet there's someone in here that's close!

Jw35 · 30/12/2015 09:42

Not affected by the storms here in the south Buffalo, sounds awful though watching it on the news this morning. It's actually really mild here, I've been too warm in my winter coat! My dd got a scuttlebug for Xmas. She's just turned one so not quite ready for it yet.

Midwife this morning, hoping to hear the heartbeat Smile and get my scan date!

M2B816 · 30/12/2015 09:55

Good luck jw! I'm feeling much better today, perhaps no breakfast is the way forward for now. I did force a small pot of yoghurt down to line the stomach. If all goes well, this little berry in me will share the same birthday with OH and he's ecstatic about it.

I'm so sorry squiggle, i hope you do get support nearby. If it helps at all, we are here to listen out so vent as much as you wish! Look after yourselfThanks

PickleBot · 30/12/2015 11:00

I'm off to have my bloods taken in an hour. I got given a sample bottle too, but I can't remember what she said about it. Anyone know when I have to hand it in? Also I'm so SPOTTY I wasn't this bad as a teenager!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 30/12/2015 11:31

Jw wow will your midwife listen in this early?! Am so jealous! They won't even attempt it here til at least the 16 week appt and even then you have to ask.
Pickle just fill the pot and give it to her when you arrive. I sympathise re the spots, I've always had nice skin and now it's awful Sad even DH who is normally really lovely about how I look (often despite evidence to the contrary!) is telling me I look tired/not well. Oh dear.
Sharing birthdays - my DD's bday is August 9th and this littlun is due around the 1st! She was born a day after due date so unlikely that they'll share a birthday, but definitely possible! Eek!

Jw35 · 30/12/2015 12:30

Ffs! Receptionist had booked me in for a 10 min appointment with the midwife instead of my booking appointment! Angry so have another one booked for the 14th jan! I'll be 11 weeks! Luckily I did get my scan date which is the 25th jan Smile I'll be 12+5 I think.

Yes GlenCo! Unfortunately not this time though Sad gutted!

WaitingforaRainbow07 · 30/12/2015 12:37

Hello ladies! Would it be okay if I joined you? I'm 5+1 and due around 30th August but I have had previous children at 36 and 32 weeks so will likely be a lot earlier!!

I have had 6 miscarriages in the past so very very cautious and trying not to get excited or hopeful. I have been spotting brown since a week before my period and it's still going so not a good sign really!! My tests are getting darker though and I have had a hcg blood test yesterday and will have another tomorrow to see if my levels are doubling okay. Don't want to have a scan too early as I can't stand the waiting to see if anything develops so will probably have one at 6-7 weeks. Just hoping this baby sticks this time as its already wanted and loved so much!

Hope everyone else's pregnancies are going well xx

MrsSantaClause · 30/12/2015 13:20

I have early babies too waiting both my boys were born at 36 weeks, Dd was only 5 days early, she's a good girl Smile good luck hope your bean sticks xx

lilygirl81 · 30/12/2015 14:28

Hi Waiting fingers crossed for this to stick, we have quite a few people on here who have had multiple mc (me included) so know how nerve wracking it is.

The doctor told me today that I really should be in hospital, but as it's the holiday season, she agreed to let me wait until my appointment on the 7th and if I'm still losing weight then I'll be admitted. I've lost 16lbs in 4 weeks, normally I'd be delighted but it's obviously not an ideal situation. Thankfully I've found my mum's homemade soup goes down well so I have huge tubs of that.

Christinedonna · 30/12/2015 14:41

Oh bless you lily that isn't good at all! Just find what you can manage and try and eat as much of it as possible. In the beginning I feel like I ballooned but now that the sickness has really kicked in it feels like I'm losing weight. Nowhere near as much as you but I feel like it's very easily done when pregnant!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 30/12/2015 15:00

Wow lily that's really extreme! Are you on anti-emetics? Definitely just stick with whatever you can eat, you poor thing. The only time you don't want to lose weight and it drops off like crazy! I've lost some too, not from throwing up but just from going off 99% of food and feeling rubbish Confused am eating half what I normally would!
Welcome waiting, 6 MC must have been awful, I'm so sorry. I've had 3 and am unbearably paranoid despite 2 good early scans so god knows how you must be feeling. We're here if you need to sound off! I think I probably terrified everyone with all my mentalling at the start but we do know a bit of how you feel. Fingers crossed for a very easy, boring 9 months for you and a nice fully-cooked baby Grin
Have braved soft play today. Mistake! Hellishly busy, some horrible child is screeching constantly while parents watch fondly as though it's endearing and cute. DD is mardy and demanding bits of plastic crap from the plastic-crap machines outside. On the plus side DH is at home building us a shiny new shoe rack so we will finally stop falling over shoes inside the front door! Putting the house on the market next year so it's halfway through a full makeover and looking nicer than it has in the 3.5 years we've lived there!
