Hey i am 15th - race ya! Wink

BuffaloCustardbath · 27/12/2015 23:30

Oh Selene what an awful time - is little one any better today? I hope you've had a restful day.

Welcome taxx! How are you feeling? Is this your 1st baby?

I have had such horrendous bloat the last couple of days - I swear I look about 20 weeks pregnant, not 5! I can't see how it wouldn't be completely obvious to all the family I've seen over the last couple of days, but if it is they've been very kind and not said anything.... Or thought I've eaten far too much over the Christmas period haha!!

GirlFromMars1 · 28/12/2015 08:34

Anyone else struggling with food aversions? I thought it would be the sight or smell that would put me off but recently I've been fixated on burgers. I usually absolutely love them but I find anytime I think if them now it makes me want to be sick. I woke myself up this morning by thinking about them and have felt ill since. Confused

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 28/12/2015 09:57

girl I am having to change my vitamins because of this. It's so weird but if I think about them I feel sick, it gets stuck in my head too and feels awful. The midwife said I can just take folic acid and vitamin d if I can't manage a whole multivitamin. It's so odd!

GirlFromMars1 · 28/12/2015 10:21

"Alfie" sorry to hear that. Im OK with my multivitamins and I know my current boots ones contain ginger which is a natural antiemetic.

I just keep thinking about burgers even though I know i don't want them and the thought makes me feel sick. It's ridiculous. I would never really think about them previously but now I'm sickened by them it's like I can't stop think about them. I walked past Byron yesterday and couldn't bear to look at people's food through the window.

On the train back to my home city now, feeling horrendous. Just want to get to 18th Jan for my scan now as I'm struggling with the anxiety of whether everything is still ok. I don't think I have any reason to worry, I think it's just my nature to be a worrier. Have had to give up on wearing proper bras altogether and living in crop tops now. Feel like a teenager again with the crop tops, the pimples and the emotions!!! x

FourForYouGlenCoco · 28/12/2015 10:53

Girl yes I have that! I can actually eat fairly normally but the thought of pretty much anything puts me off. And it changes constantly so one day I can stomach something and the next day it makes me feel vommy!
I've pretty much given up on prenatals. Am still reasonably good at keeping up with the folic acid & vit D though! Am 9.5 weeks though so I figure all the neural tube stuff is pretty much formed by now.
Sickness and tiredness seem to have ramped up again here, been falling asleep putting DD to bed every night and sleeping through til morning! Never thought I'd say it but it's actually quite nice having DH at home, he's doing a good job picking up the slack. Normally he winds me up something chronic (he works away so I'm not used to actually spending any time with him!) but all is calm and peaceful at the moment, must still be in the Christmas spirit Grin (I do love him really haha!)

SharyBobbins · 28/12/2015 10:57

Girl how many weeks are you? I have a reassurance scan on the 16th January. I feel like until I get through that I can't start to believe this is real. So nervous about it Confused

chandelierswinging · 28/12/2015 11:09

Can I tentatively pop my head round the door and say hello?

I got a very unexpected and totally natural BFP over Christmas and am still in shock/denial. This is my 4th pregnancy and will hopefully result in my 3rd child. I have PCOS and had a bit of a struggle getting pregnant until now. My 3rd pregnancy ended in the summer with surgical management after a very long drawn out experience of countless scans and hospital admissions. (That's the short version of events!!) I had just been given the "go ahead" by my consultant and started thinking about taking all the pills and potions again when BAM! out of the blue, this happens!!

I will have an early scan in a few weeks to check viability and placement, as I would have to have surgery in the event of bad news again, and also need to find out how far along I am! I estimate that I'm 4-5 weeks, which puts me at a due date of end of Aug/start of Sept, but I will have a c-section around 38 weeks.

Hope it's okay to join you all!

Mummystar123 · 28/12/2015 12:18

Hi all I'm 5 weeks now and very excited. Due 31st august. :-)

lilygirl81 · 28/12/2015 12:34

Girl food aversions are awful. Yesterday I bought a big box of Krispy Creme, by the time I got home the thought of eating one turned my stomach. Hate to admit it, but McDonald's fries seem to go down well, and salty crisps.

I've not had too much difficulty with my vitamins, though haven't been the best at remembering my extra folic acid due to being fat. I'm hoping that the weight I've lost in the last 10 weeks might help reduce the need for it anyway, and like Glencoco I figure most of the neural tube stuff is formed now.

MrsZumbaDancer · 28/12/2015 12:39

Salt and vinegar squares helped my nausea during my last pregnancy and helping with this one too.. Just been for a walk on the beach and even the fresh air didn't help today
I'm just taking folic acid+vit d and taking them on a night, easier to handle!

MamaB80 · 28/12/2015 13:22

Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while and would love to join you. I'm 7 weeks today! Due 16/17 Aug. We found out 3 weeks ago and can hardly believe it as it's been a long road - 2 years and 8 months to be precise.

I don't have many symptoms, just very tired, and sometimes a bit queasy but not sure if that's just in my head! I've booked in for an early scan on Fri 8 Jan for peace of mind. Booking appt on 20 Jan and 12 week scan on 1 Feb. I don't want to wish the time away but will feel a lot more reassured once this first tri is over! Anyone else without many symptoms?

My stats are MamaB80, 35, London, #1, EDD 16/17 Aug.

taxxigirl · 28/12/2015 13:30

buffalo yup, this is my first so it's exciting and completely terrifying at the same time. I have a scan booked for the 2nd Feb so hoping that will set my mind at ease somewhat.

I feel the size of a house - so bloated and feel like I look wider than I ever have and this is just a few weeks in - from those who've been there before, it's going to get worse right? Wish I understood how some people manage to just have a neat little bump because I don't think that I will be one of them!!

BuffaloCustardbath · 28/12/2015 13:53

MamaB I have practically no symptoms - I'm trying to feel fortunate but it's hard not to worry!!

taxxi I found during my pregnancy last time that the bloat didn't last long and then all was fine again (until the sickness arrived - followed by the breathlessness from being squashed haha)

FourForYouGlenCoco · 28/12/2015 15:18

Welcome chandelier, mummy and mama! Lovely to have you with us on the crazy train Wink hope it's a smooth 7(ish) months for you all!
taxxi I was practically the same size at 8 weeks as I was at 18 weeks with DD! I was like a little balloon, deflated again towards the end of the 1st tri and had a pretty neat little bump in the end! This time round I'm definitely bigger than I was with her but think it's still just bloat. Am farting more than ever before!
Personal qu time: who's still DTD regularly? We've gone longer than ever before (including after birth!) but what with hormones, spotting, bleeding, more spotting and sickness I'm just not feeling it Confused feel bad for DH but I can't cope with it at the moment!

MrsSantaClause · 28/12/2015 16:24

We haven't since we found out four too tired..

GirlFromMars1 · 28/12/2015 16:27

SharyBobbins I'm 8.1 now. Scan will be 12.1 if my dates are correct. Think I'll continue to worry until we see a healthy scan. Fingers crossed for all of us. Right now I feel like I have a permanent hangover! It makes me feel like I wouldn't even want to drink when I'm no longer pregnant. Not missing booze at all right now! Confused

Christinedonna · 28/12/2015 16:40

We're still ditd multiple times a day. Fatigue is getting the better of me lately so not sure how much longer that will last but pregnancy has made me hornier than ever

Jw35 · 28/12/2015 17:39

Welcome newbies! Sorry I always forget all the names!

Food aversions yes! Gone off tea, gone off most things so stand in kitchen feeling sick and wandering what the hell to eat. Usually ends up a bag of crisps or a banana. I'm so sick I want to die! Lol it's bad.

Fatigue is the worst. Literally can't do anything. My dads doing it all as he's off work. Taking care of my other 2 kids, feel like a total failure right now Sad not sure what up but got midwife in weds so will mention it and see if it's my iron levels or something.

I'm not dtd as I'm single (donor baby) but I reckon if I wasn't I'd be totally up for it! Lol.

I'm 8+5 and feeling utterly dreadful! I'm also bloated and luckily I've till got maternity leggings from last year so they're going back on! Blush

hgleslie89 · 28/12/2015 17:56

Hi all. I'm first time pregnant, 9 weeks today, feeling tired and sick, worrying about every little twinge and somehow still can't get it into my head that I'm pregnant. Got my booking appointment a week tomorrow (so 10+1) so I'm hoping that will help to sort out my head a bit.

Can't wait for the scan, although I'm panicking they'll say something's wrong or that it's all in my head and I'm not really pregnant. I feel silly saying it and I don't want to worry DH as he's being brilliant but tends to worry about this sort of thing even more than I do!

taxxigirl · 28/12/2015 18:52

four I think once since we found out? A combination of being worried about somehow knocking the baby loose (I know, I'm ridiculous), tiredness, and feeling about as sexy as a mouldy sock. My sex drive used to be very much rotational round my monthly cycle so without the hormones I have no idea what's going on! My poor wife's period has been messed up by my hormones too!!!

hg I totally agree- paranoid it's all in my head and desperate to have an appointment and actually prove something!!!! Fx for you all goes well at your booking :)

MrsSantaClause · 28/12/2015 19:55

Several times a day Christine?? ShockShockShock

Christinedonna · 28/12/2015 20:09

We've always been like it. There's maybe been 4 days where it's only been once and twice when we haven't but other than that it's atleast 3 times a day

Eminado · 28/12/2015 20:17

"Gone off tea, gone off most things so stand in kitchen feeling sick and wandering what the hell to eat. "

This is me entirely!!! I am SO over it!! So totally over this

Eminado · 28/12/2015 20:19
