2nd thread for the ever increasing August 2016 bumps

Wow it's exactly those type of comments Dileas, Christine and Buffalo that put me right off sharing the news and it no longer being a happy thing between me and DP. But then I should expect it since DP is not a DH and is of a different religion. At least I expect/hope the different ethnicity isn't an issue!!! Nice though to hear that there are good experiences sharing the news!

Not doing too well, been having lot of upper abdominal pains, dr said he thinks it's gastritis rather than pregnancy related, but if it carries on I might look into a private scan - when can you get them done from?

Had severe tummy bug overnight, started after Christmas dinner. I feel wrecked

Happy birthday Christine! What a horrible answer from your nan! As I have a one year old I expect people will be less excited for me too, doesn't make it less exciting to me!

Sickness back with a vengeance! Think I just got Xmas day of feeling ok! Must have been the distraction. Awful headaches too. Feeling crappy! No energy

My trick is to have lots of short naps, it works so well with the Christmas break too. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and have been taking everything really easy during these crucial weeks!

Minty most private scans will only take you from 8 weeks, and to be honest, having had Evans at 6 weeks, 8 weeks and 9 weeks (2 at EPU, one private) I would wait if you can, the stress of inconclusive scans is awful

Minty the earliest I found for private scans is 7 weeks-what are you looking for from it? I've been having cramps, more than I expected to be honest (though first time so I have nothing to benchmark against!) so for me my scan at 7w2 was a positive experience-confirmation of a heartbeat (so ongoing pregnancy), confirmation of the date (midwife was off at this stage by 5 days) and confirmation of no signs of internal bleeding plus a 'quality check' of what my ovaries look like which I've never had before and was quite nice!

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas! Mine has been extremely quiet and lazy-just as I like it! We decided not to tell anyone before 12 weeks so still enjoying our little secret :-)

Thank you for the birthday wishes! Just about managed to get through work, I fear the exhaustion of the last week or so is going to hit us all where it hurts and leave us all very poorly

I forgot to mention I got my date for my dating scan (a bit early but midwife doesn't know the hospital have dated me less than we first thought) it's the 20th of Jan. And I have my EPU scan on Tuesday. I'm hoping the one in January being too early will mean they'll give me an additional one after nearer 12 weeks. Wishful thinking? I just can't get enough of watching it change!

Aw I hope not christine it's been dreadful being ill on top of pregnancy symptoms. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Try and take rest and look after yourself.

Well MIL and BIL have been packed off home, presents are still all over the place but piled up neatly-ish, washing up is done, Xmas carnage is vaguely organised back into some semblance of normality. Tree will come down tomorrow and the Great Toy Rearrange will begin to try and wedge all the new stuff in our dinky terrace! Have had an absolutely lovely few days, but been running around like a crazy person and now I finally don't have anything to do it's all hit me and I am so shattered! No plans for tomorrow though, what complete bliss

Taking the tree down tomorrow! What is this madness? Stays up till Jan 6th here (or nearest Sunday before it anyway)

I've a shit week prepare for a full on moaning session

My 15 month old has been off for about 6 days, keeping me up most the night all unsettled

He was miserable as sin Xmas day with a temp , then yesterday he got really bad and temp wouldn't come down with ibropofen or paracetamol (39.5)

Q a phone call to NHS24 they wanted to see him so I had to drive a hour last night in heavy snow which then turned to heavy rain, nearly crashed on way as hit a flood on road at 50mph , I truely shat myself

Hospital checked him over, he has a really bad virus. Got home at 11pm last night after driving all the way home at 30mph in that god awful weather

Honestly just wanted to burst into tears. Not sleep for more than two hours at a time in a week, added to that my morning sickness has been on and off. I'm exhausted, worried about my son and stuck on my own. Husband not home for another two weeks.

Pregnancy sucks 😫 i feel dreadful.

I'm 6+3 today, having mild cramps not dissimilar to period pain. I know it's probably normal, uterus stretching etc. but does anyone else still get a bit freaked out by it? I think it's because it feels so similar like I'm about to come on

I'm 6+4 today and feeling awful.. Doesn't help 2 year old DS is deciding he doesn't want to listen at all! Had awful cramps in the night but more stomach type pains but haven't eaten anything dodgy..

This morning I was actually sick for the first time at 9+5. Came on very suddenly, and DH now has sick bags in fast reach in case it happens again. Just having to prepare myself for the drive back to my parents house today.

Treated myself to a new set of knitting needles today, DH gave me an amazing bag for all my wool and projects so this will finish off my set I think

Yeah the Christmas period is definitely hitting everyone! This morning I couldn't get further than the bedroom bin and had to use that as my vomit target (of course, lucky me it continued for an hour afterwards in the toilet)

Tree not coming down until new year!
Think I've got a cold or something, very exhausted all the time. Sick as usual. I'm 8+4 today.

salene what a shame that sounds truly exhausting. Harder when you can't tell people you are also struggling with morning sickness evt. Hope it all passes soon x

Just survived a mad family Christmas with not a drop of alcohol or my Brie...wow!! I've read through the thread and y'all seem lovely so fingers crossed you don't mind if I hang around? :)

Welcome Taxx! My baby was also conceived via a donor and I have a one year old by the same donor. I'm doing it alone though as I'm single. Congratulations to you x
