Happy Friday lovely ladies.

Sorry for those who are having stressful times and fingers crossed for you this morning rainbow

coco congrats, you and me both 12 weeks today! I have my scan next Friday morning. I had a private one at 8 weeks and everything was showing fine, strong heartbeat, right size for the dates etc, so hoping all progressing well. Are you feeling anxious at all about the scan? I am trying to stay positive as no reason to believe anything otherwise.

prettyflowers111 · 15/01/2016 10:31

Oh pipo I'm so sorry you're bring left in limbo. Big hugs xxx

rainbow I hope you've been scanned by now and I'm sat with everything crossed thinking of you.

Wow congrats to our 12 weekers!! I feel so far behind at 8 weeks today, I did pop into the September thread but just didn't get on with it.

lily re cloth nappies. I didn't have a Tumble dryer for about 8 or 9 months and it was a banacing act. I had one lot drying on the airer with another in use. Worth looking up quick drying ones as some of the ones I had, particularly bamboo and hemp seemed to take 3 days to dry!

Another one stressing over money here... but I keep saying people do it with much less and that you cut your cloth to suit your needs. Just think back when we'd put our baby to sleep in a draw and they only had 5 hand knitted outfits. We really all baby buying mad these days!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 15/01/2016 10:45

Oh bear grats to you too! Didn't realise we had the same dates. I had an NHS one at 8 weeks too which was fine. I'm trying to be confident about the scan but truthfully I've been on the wrong side of the statistics enough times that I'm not counting on the 'it won't happen to me'. Sorry to be depressing! My gut instinct says all is well so I'm focusing on that but I'll be much happier once I'm through the scan and all well.

bearhuggy · 15/01/2016 11:21

I also completely missed we had same dates until today! We should all write our weeks/days at the end of each post so we can see. Or is there another page showing everyones deets?!

I am also trying to stay confident and positive, it's my first pregnancy so nothing to base anything on, had no idea how anxious it would make you feel!! This next week is going to feel like forever, I am wondering whether to get a doppler, do you recommend coco?

Thanks pretty, will be 12 weeks for you before you know it! You are right, baby buying mad is a serious condition...so many things to spend your money on and I am sure vast majority really is not needed!

Just wanted to say, owl don't worry - I've had the most vicious cough and chest infection from which I'm still not recovered - involuntary and deep hacking til sometimes I feel I'm going to be sick and preventing me from sleeping and waking me up at night. Great excercise for the stomach muscles! I figure that if the baby can cope with that, then it'll cope with most things that gets thrown at it!!

bearhuggy · 15/01/2016 11:44

Ah thanks Leo, completely missed that, have updated. Sorry you have been feeling unwell :( I have had coughs like that in the past, horrible things. Have you tried a vicks vapour steam? Head over a bowl of hot water with towel...really seems to help.

Anyone using any good pregnancy apps to track things?

Christinedonna · 15/01/2016 11:53

I had no idea about the stats page either. I want to update it and add mine but not actually been given a new due date. Is anyone 9+3 today and have their due date? Or close enough to be able to work out mine?

Christinedonna · 15/01/2016 11:57

I think if I've worked it out correctly it's the 16th of August?

squigglepants · 15/01/2016 12:23

Got my scan date through, 11th Feb, seems ages away! I am waiting until after that before I tell my other two children and it is so hard keeping it from them.
Had to give in and buy a pair of maternity trousers already, stuff still fits but is unbearably uncomfortable around my middle as the day goes on.

chandelierswinging · 15/01/2016 12:38

bear I'm using pregnancy+ (Apple) app, which I really like. Lots of helpful tabs for noting things down, suggestions, daily diary/blog etc.

christine my aforementioned app says your EDD is 16th Aug, so you're spot on!

Eminado · 15/01/2016 12:38

Christine that is correct, I am 9+4 and due 15th

LeoLemur · 15/01/2016 12:42

thanks bear, getting better now but should definitely try that out. Sounds good!

I'm enjoying using pregnancy + app which is NHS approved apparently but I have read conflicting stuff on it - like don't eat licorice but that's the blog bit, the timeline (under 'baby') and pictures are cool. it's free til week 14. Christine it'll tell you your due date otherwise there are easy to find calculators online that do it. Just remember to count two weeks back from when you ovulate to get your last missed period date if you know you're not a 14th day of cycle ovulation kind of gal!

LeoLemur · 15/01/2016 12:43

Snap chandelier!

Christinedonna · 15/01/2016 13:22

Thankyou ladies. Yeah all the online calculators seem to ask me and go from the first day of my last period. And those dates are incorrect for the measurements baby is so I'm actually around 2 weeks less. Got my midwife appointment in an hour, fingers crossed

peamad · 15/01/2016 17:23

Have to admit I'm going a bit crazy here. I'm 10 weeks today and for some reason (stupid hormones!) I have suddenly convinced myself that there is something wrong with baby. Sad Having a complete meltdown and can't calm down. My scan isn't for another three weeks and have no idea how I'm going to keep it together that long.
I rang the midwife and although she was really lovely she said there wasn't anything she could do (I'm not having any bleeding etc). I asked if she could listen for a heartbeat but she said she wouldn't do it before 14 weeks because it can be hard to find and therefore cause more anxiety.

Do you experienced mums have any words of wisdom to share please??

Biscuitswithtea · 15/01/2016 17:51

Peamad no real wisdom I'm afraid. But sympathy :) I remember feeling heaps better last time around 9wks and freaking out at my midwife. She said that's really normal as the placenta kicks in. It's been a similar experience this time. I'm just over 10wks now I think. I have this paranoid fear that I will go to my scan and there will be nothing there. But unless I have obvious symptoms of something being wrong before that scan then I have to wait and see. I'm not great at waiting...I like to KNOW stuff. Having said that, we didn't find out the sex last time and that was actually okay!
So anyway I am effectively spending the next 2 and a bit wks in denial! Fortunately a toddler and a bathroom renovation and a busy job are good distractions. But it's still a rubbish time, and assuming not many know you're pregnant then also quite isolating in that stress and anxiety.

Suziesome1 · 15/01/2016 17:56

Try not to worry, although I know how you feel, I mc'd my previous, so I've been on edge since I got my bfp. I went for an early 8 week scan and found it so reassuring, but I still get niggles that all is not well (im now 10 weeks) There's nothing really you can do, try and relax and trust your body. What will be will be. Flowers I hope you have an uneventful pregnancy and a healthy baby at the end :)

MrsSantaClause · 15/01/2016 17:57

I'm the same pea, feeling much better and if I didn't know otherwise could quite easily forget I'm pregnant.. We're taking the opportunity for a date night tonight while I'm feeling good Wink can't wait

peamad · 15/01/2016 18:54

Thanks ladies. I rang a couple of private clinics but the soonest I can get a scan is 24th. Think I am going to go buy a Doppler tomorrow, hoping to get some reassurance from that.

Pipo1704 · 15/01/2016 19:04

Hi ladies

Confirmed missed miscarriage as expected. I'm doing ok, at least I can begin to move on from this limbo. Will be in hospital next week.

I wish you all well & health for you & your little beauties. This board has helped so much xxx

Flybynight1 · 15/01/2016 19:08

pea I know I'm new at it but I'm really glad I got my Doppler. I was thinking of going for another private scan as I went for one at 7 weeks and won't have another til 13+4... But now I have the Doppler and have heard the heartbeat at 10 weeks, I feel just so much more reassured! And have saved a load of money Smile plus I've got it for the rest of the pregnancy to listen away!! I got an angelsounds one and it's worked for me from 10+2. Now I know where to find the bean I've found it every time so long as I've got a fairly full bladder!
