Thank you all for the support. They said it might just be too early to see anything but I think combined with the spotting and 6 previous miscarriages there is not much chance it's going to be successful. All I want is a baby, shouldn't be this hard :-(

M2B816 · 07/01/2016 11:39

Don't give up Rainbow, look after yourself Thanks

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 11:42

Hoping someone has a bit of insight. Whenever I throw up, it's ALWAYS like my stomach lining/bile that's coming up. It's never food. Does anyone have any idea why? I was eating at 3 this morning just to have something in me, this morning no food? During the day when I've eaten, no food

bearhuggy · 07/01/2016 12:17

Hello everyone,
I have been laying low for a while but wanted to say hello and hope everyone is doing well. Sorry to hear of those with sickness, I have had on and off nausea for a few weeks, have found copious oranges, fizzy water with lime and Nairns oatcakes do wonders! Also thinking positively and doing some simple breathing exercises can also really help.
Rainbow sorry to hear your news, hoping that next weeks scan is positive, you may just be a little early.
I am currently 10+6 and have my booking in appoint tomorrow with the midwife...no date yet for my scan! I had a 8 week private scan just before christmas and everything was showing fine, strong heartbeat and it was even moving around a little, nice to see (have included a little picture).
This is my 1st pregnancy so really don't know what to expect and some days feel positive, others worried sick that something has happened. Have banned myself from Google as it seems to do nothing but stir the fear!
Anyone else East London based and thinking of antenatal groups?
Sending positive vibes to each and every one of you :)
x

Congratulations bearhuggy how lovely that you got to see it moving!
I spent last night watching random YouTube videos of how people had decorated their nursery, and what they'd put in their hospital bag. Then had a few really horrible dreams and couldn't sleep so I've now found myself writing lists. Things we need to buy, what I need to include in my hospital bag. They're the only things I can think of at the moment, does anyone know what else I have to think of? (I know it's early but I like to be organised) and I don't think il start a baby name list just yet

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 12:44

Christine all I ever think about is names! not sure what else to remember but from experience you never need as much as you think! Luckily I have it all from last baby!

I'm 10+1 today and sickness by late afternoon and evening is the worst. I'm ok in the mornings until about 2ish. Fatigue is better on the iron water. I've got my scan on the 25th. It doesn't even feel real yet, when I see the baby and hear the heartbeat I'm going to bond with my little one. I can't wait! At the mo it's not a baby in my mind it's a condition! Lol

Pipo1704 · 07/01/2016 12:53

Christine, I've found that at times weirdly enough. Even when I have eaten. No idea why!

Pipo1704 · 07/01/2016 12:54

I couldn't face what I'd brought in for my lunch today, sweet potato salad. So decided on jacket with beans & cheese!

I'm loving seeing everyone's scan photos :)

prettyflowers111 · 07/01/2016 13:03

Christine you sound as bad as me! I'm already browsing through kiddicare! From my experience you don't need much at the hospital, if you end up staying in family can bring extra bits down for you. Dd was born at 11.55pm, and I was walking out of there at 4.10am! Literally used 2 nappies, 1vest, baby grow and cardi. ... and I wore the same clothes walking in as I did walking out besides my undies as I was in the water they got wet. I'll literally be packing 1 change of clothes for baby and 1 for me this time around. I'll be leaving bits out for oh to bring in if needed though. I saw ladies there carrying holdalls while dragging wheelie cases behind them.... It also seemed to annoy the midwives as we both made comments about needing less for a fortnight in Spain!

jw I agree with scan.... I've got an early one booked for a week Monday and I'm unbelievably excited and nervous at the same time! No way I could hold out for the 12 week one I'm far too impatient Blush

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 13:17

I've watched too many videos and keep adding things😂 Too much??

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 13:24

Pretty I know early Scans can be reassuring but at 12 weeks I know I'll think 'I've made it'! Whereas earlier is still in the danger zone. I would be bonding earlier then be devastated if something went wrong.

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 13:28

Christine looks fine to me! (Why do you need 2 toothpastes)? Teddy is a cute idea. I just took 2 pyjamas, dressing gown & slippers, pads & nursing pads, change of clothes and toiletry bag. For baby I took 4 baby gro's, vests, nappies, wipes and a blanket to go home. I also took a all in one coat but it was December. Prob won't need in August! I was only in for a night.

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 13:30

Oh don't forget massive pants and disposable ones! If you end up having an emcs you need granny pants cos ordinary ones lay on the wound!

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 13:31

It was x2 to toothbrushes but didn't want to squeeze that between the words as I only thought about it after. Thought it can't be a bad idea to get a two pack and have one for the OH

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 13:34

This seems like a very short list for general stuff for the baby. Have I forgot everything? (At home/general life)

MrsSantaClause · 07/01/2016 13:46

I've still got most of the stuff from last time, will do a round up of what else we need nearer the time I think..

Have any of you thought about what you're going to do about a summer holiday? We usually go camping for 2 weeks around August time, but I don't fancy doing that with a newborn.

ToElleWithIt · 07/01/2016 13:53

rainbow I'm so sorry that the scan didn't look promising. To suffer 6 miscarriages must be so so hard. Thinking of you and hoping that there may yet be good news.

I loved doing up the nursery. Kinda sad that I won't get to do it this time.

I agree re not bringing a load of stuff into hospital. People can bring things in if you need them. I would add slippers or flip flops to the list though.

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 13:57

Slippers going straight on there!

ToElleWithIt · 07/01/2016 14:06

We're going to go to the South of France in late June for a fortnight MrsSantaClause I checked with the airline and I'll be okay to fly, but will need a letter from my doc. Here's hoping the pregnancy goes smoothly. I would go earlier in the year, but I'd like some sun and don't fancy long haul.

TattieHowkerz · 07/01/2016 14:16

Make, that cheap slippers - mine got filthy from all the muck being trailed in on visitors' shoes last time and I had to chuck them.

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 14:55

We're not going on holiday this year Sad with 2 under 2 I'm concentrating on getting things for the house and garden. We are however planning a holiday to Marrakech next March instead Smile I've been before but it will be different with 3 kids! Plan on staying outside the city somewhere nice with a pool and go camel riding.

Jw35 · 07/01/2016 14:57

Christine have you thought about a baby bath? I used mine a lot in the first few weeks.

chandelierswinging · 07/01/2016 14:58

Value washing up bowl (49p) was my baby bath Wink

Christinedonna · 07/01/2016 15:02

Baby bath! Didn't think of that! Really need help with all of this

FourForYouGlenCoco · 07/01/2016 15:43

Don't buy a baby bath!! We had a bloody tummy tub thing that I convinced myself we needed, cost about £20 and was literally a plastic bucket. We used it twice and then she used to just get in the bath with me! I think your list is fine Christine, there is so much baby crap out there and you honestly don't need any of it - and stuff you do need you can always pick up once you realise you need it. Babies keep on very very little, especially in the early days and even more so if you bf. Don't worry about it yet!
Congratulations huggy, lovely pic!
Jw sickness vicious in the evenings here too, 10+6 and not feeling any better! Boobs also agonising as soon as they're out of the bra. But on the plus side, am on the countdown to the magic 12 weeks - a week and a day to go!! Finally got first mw appt on tues as well so scan date is on the horizon.
Still paranoid that something will go wrong but very very gradually relaxing a little tiny bit.
Rainbow will keep hoping for you and keeping everything crossed that things somehow work out OK after all. It's just not fair what some people have to endure.
We're not having a summer holiday this year but are thinking of Southern Ireland in the late spring - April/may time probably. Won't be too huge or too hot then! DH's whole family are Irish so it's half DD's heritage and I've never been and would love to go. Then me and DD are off to Isle of Wight festival at the beginning of June so that'll be enough fun and games for us I reckon!
