Hi rachel, welcome to the thread! HG sounds terrible, you poor thing. Hope it improves - realise from what I know of HG this is optimistic but will keep my fingers crossed for you!
pipo yes my skin is appalling! Normally I have beautiful skin, it's one of my best things, now it's absolutely dire Sad my face keeps growing volcanoes! I vaguely recall glowing at some point later on with DD so there is still hope.
Jw yes, problems are definitely occurring! Without putting everyone off their tea, I had a fissure after DD that I never bothered to properly sort, it healed up eventually but seems to be making its big comeback thanks to constipation. Am rubbish at fruit & water at the mo tho so only have myself to blame really.
QuCee going through a lot of fizzy water here, also half orange juice, half fizzy water - makes a change from the boringness of water! Or you could do an infusion type thing - chuck a load of fruit & veg into a jug full of water, leave in fridge, tastes AMAZING. Cucumber & mint is a good one, as is strawberry, lime & ginger. A quick squizz on Pinterest will have lots of much better ideas than me!
Anyone else think they might have the teeny tiny beginnings of a bump? I actually didn't think I looked any different but have just found a picture of me from 08/12 and I am definitely wider round the middle. Can possibly feel the top of my fundus right in the rim of pelvis so thinking maybe all my fat bits are being pushed upwards Grin I didn't show properly til 20+ weeks with DD but looked a bit tubby from 14ish weeks so thinking this could be the very start of something. Can't wait to have a bump! So am probably just wishful thinking, but exciting nonetheless!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 03/01/2016 20:49

Oh and re bras - I've always bought mine from M&S, haven't had any new ones for ages (tramp!) but they've always been brilliant once you get past the 'mature lady' reinforced scaffolding type contraptions. My boobs were so wrecked after bf DD that even though they are much bigger now, they've only just managed to fill all my normal bras (that I used to have to scoop them into before like sad pancakes Grin ) so I reckon I've got a while in em yet!

SharyBobbins · 03/01/2016 20:50

Coco Pops! Damn I want them now!
Corn Flakes and Salt & Vinegar crisps went on my shopping list this week.
Thank you for the reassurance ladies Smile

QuCee78 · 03/01/2016 20:59

Oh thanks Lily and Coco, will try some of those ideas out! Very thirsty today...
Coco - I also had a fissure with my DS, and never bothered with it, but now it's playing up too! Never normally struggle with going to the loo! But it's much harder (literally) now I'm pg!

I'm hoping I have the makings of a small bump, otherwise it's the Christmas excess catching up!!!

Can't really help with bras, as I'm small chested so don't usually suffer with finding something, my favourite bras have come from Victoria's Secret, sooo comfy.

squigglepants · 03/01/2016 21:33

QuCee I have had brown stringy when wiping too. Trying to not be concerned but that coupled with not puking all day has me a bit paranoid. I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and hoping for a call from the midwife either tomorrow or Tuesday, will ask about it then.

Christinedonna · 03/01/2016 21:34

Feeling like a little bump coming on here! And also very very light headed

Dileas29 · 03/01/2016 22:09

Yes growing a new spot here by the day too! Very hormonal sore types! I was just thinking today maybe not as much bloat more bump too fourforyouglencoco but also possibly excess new year treats! Hmm

OwlinaTree · 03/01/2016 22:14

I've got spots too, and only really seem to want to eat jacket potatoes and breakfast cereal. It's a magical time Grin

PickleBot · 03/01/2016 22:30

Magical smagical! I hate being pregnant!

FourForYouGlenCoco · 03/01/2016 23:21

I just want to get through the first trimester so I can relax...I'll take all the sickness, the sore boobs, all the rest of it, provided it's actually worth it! I've spent too much time enduring all the yucky early pregnancy symptoms only for it all to be for nothing in the end.
However I've just found the heartbeat on the Doppler so I'm feeling like the luckiest person in the universe right now Grin was looking way too low the other day, no wonder I couldn't find it, baby was miles away! Am going to sleep a very happy bunny 😄

Shakethingsup · 03/01/2016 23:25

Hello all, at 8 weeks I thought it about time I joined in :-) I've got a lot of reading to catch up on and I'll try to skim through in the next couple of days. Also no idea what I was thinking re my username when I changed it the other week - must change that again pronto - I'm not really that forward / difficult honest!!

quitecrunchy · 04/01/2016 00:00

Hi Shake, good to have you on board!

The only new bras I've had to buy so far are a couple of cheapy crop top type deelies for sleeping in. I'm starting to think I'll need some sort of Frankenstein hybrid bra when I upgrade though - the girls are definitely not growing at the same speed! Lefty is ballooning (and is rocking the bullet nip) but righty appears to have missed the memo Hmm

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 04/01/2016 06:38

crunchy that's happening to me too! My righty is away and lefty is just chilling out. If you find a suitable bra let me know! Grin

I've found my skin has actually got better. It was so awful when I can off the pill and while ttc but since I got pregnant it seems to have helped. I don't miss those horrible red hormonal ones they are the worst!

SharyBobbins · 04/01/2016 07:28

Same here!! Lefty has gone to sleep where as righty seems to be growing by the day! I've never looked so lopsided!! Shock

hgleslie89 · 04/01/2016 08:58

After feeling better for the last few days, sickness is definitely making its presence known this morning. So pleased I booked this week off work before I even knew I was pregnant!

peamad · 04/01/2016 09:36

Morning all

Is anyone else feeling the back-to-work blues? I'm working from home today but dreading going back into the office tomorrow. I work in a small team (just 6 people) and am convinced that my colleagues will notice my constant snacking, frequent toilet trips and general moodiness! I'm a first timer, do those of you who have done it before have any helpful tips? Also not looking forward to trying to squeeze into my work clothes Confused

peamad · 04/01/2016 09:37

PS I'm 8+3 today

ToElleWithIt · 04/01/2016 09:40

shary and Leo I was the same on #1 - no symptoms bar a teeny bit of boob tenderness. I was eating really well, training regularly, feeling great. I honestly didn't even feel pregnant until about 23 weeks (no bump to speak of and anterior placenta meant I didn't feel kicks 'til then). Enjoy it! Not that it's bad this time, but definitely sicker and less energy as a result.

QuCee I'm usually a gin and tonic fiend, so I drink tonic water on its own or mixed with Orange Juice. I quite like Fentiman's Ginger beer too.

taxxigirl · 04/01/2016 09:48

Ohhhhh wow it's Monday! Sent to wife off to work and just about enjoyed my last lie in despite the best efforts of my irritating cats! And what did I dream about?? MORNING SICKNESS!!!! Seriously??? Seems a bit unfair.

Sorry to all those of you who are struggling with food - my main source of nutrition right now is supernoodles with cheese - easy to eat and staying down for the most part. Foxes glacier fruits have been saving me when I can eat actual food - a bit like a flavoured ice cube I guess??

Dreading going back to work tomorrow - I teach so there's plenty of time when I literally can't go to the loo and a lot of the time I'm alone with the kids. My lesson plans will be very student led for the next few weeks I think! I do have a fantastic trainee working with me at the moment which will take some of the pressure off, I'm secretly hoping they might hire her to do my maternity cover Wink

Have a beautiful day ladies xxxx

WaitingforaRainbow07 · 04/01/2016 10:21

Rang the doctors this morning and my hcg rose from 1198 on Tuesday to 2278 on Thursday so that's good news! Had that taken before the little bit of red spotting I had though :-/. Waiting on a phone call from ePu with an early scan.

Anyone else have horrific wind/trapped wind? I woke up in the night in excruciating pain which lasted for about an hour, I think it was trapped wind and hope it wasn't anything to do with the baby. Feeling really nauseous this morning but it's probably because I'm so tired. The insomnia is awful, anyone else having this too?

peamad · 04/01/2016 10:49

Waiting YES I've had awful trapped wind! Never had it before so was a bit confused what it was at first. I did some yoga poses which seemed to help relieve it a bit. I'm the opposite re: sleep though, been in bed by 9pm most nights and sleeping through until 8am! That's good news about your HCG levels, I hope they are able to offer you a scan for piece of mind though.

lilygirl81 · 04/01/2016 11:15

Morning

I've also got awful trapped wind, finding a hot water bottle helps ease it a bit, I'm also scared to fart except on the loo just in case...seems so unfair, I get the sickness under control and something else happens!

Four well done on finding the heart beat, I may need to invest in a Doppler after all, I'd love that reassurance

Jw35 · 04/01/2016 11:20

QuCee I'm living on blackcurrent squash, can't bear sugary drinks, tea or coffee Christine I do have a bump already, my uterus just sprung back out since I only had a baby a year ago. Tbh though I had a bump with her by 8 weeks too, not sure if I can blame previous pregnancy a was 11 years before that but due to 2 sections I have no stomach muscles..

Flybynight1 · 04/01/2016 11:54

Happy 9 weeks Alfie

So for tea last night I basically ate like a rabbit. I was craving cabbage and carrots all day so I had a massive pile of boiled carrots, steamed cabbage and green beans, peas and a small portion of homemade cottage pie. It was AMAZING!! It just all tasted so fresh and lovely and this morning (after some much needed time on the toilet) by bloat is all but vanished and I am 2lbs lighter than I was yesterday morning! Seriously, if anyone is feeling bloated-get on the cabbage I say!!!

Feeling so much better today. Tiredness is starting to reduce (fingers crossed) haven't felt nauseous in days(but have been eating lots still), weeing and drinking loads is continuing but I can live with that, boobs are less sore this morning but they usually get sorest and largest at the end of the day. Hoping this is a sign that hormones are levelling off (and trying to put the suggesting that things have gone wrong to the back of my mind!!)

glencoco awesome news on the Doppler result!! How wonderful and a lovely relief Smile I've been looking at them on ebay but not sure how good those ones would be. Is yours a professional one?

rainbow that's a great result with the HCG levels-fingers crossed they keep in rising!!

Sorry to those who are back in work today! Hope your days go quickly and quietly Grin I am savouring this last day off, despite the weather!!

So I have ANOTHER problem for you ladies. It's no surprise that nothing ever runs smoothly for me but here it is. Me and the OH have been together a few months (we'll say 6 for arguments sake) and talking for 6 months before that. While we were talking he had a gf, he broke up with her for me and here we are. He's got a few shitty messages from her since we've been together, I've said nothing as she's bound to be hurt and we've all been there. I am in no way in the right for what we did and that's why he ended it with her before anything happened between us. Everyone at his work place has caught wind of me being pregnant (how, I have no idea!) he works with her (technically. They're in different departments that don't cross paths) so she found out! She text him saying "congratulations" which was obviously sarcastic so he ignored it. She then text him saying "I'm so sorry she's done this to you" to which he responded "it wasn't planned but we're in this together and I'm standing by her" he told me last night and my blood boiled! Why of ALL PEOPLE are you explaining anything to her! If my ex text me saying "sorry he's trapped you" I'd say "I don't know what you're talking about I'm over the moon thank you!" He told her it wasn't planned, and said "I'm standing by her" that's what you do with someone you've knocked up after a one night stand. 'It's the decent thing, il stand by her' we're together, he claims he's head over heels and he really does act like it. So why did he shit on us infront of her?? I couldn't fathom why he'd do that and I was so hurt I kicked him out. What are your thoughts?
