Trying to catch up on my phone here so forgive me if I miss people out!

Sympathies to all those with uncertainties. Hoping that it's nothing more than a scare.

lily that sounds tough. Hope you get well.

Re harmony. I had it last time. I'm in Ireland here and you have to pay for full nuchal screening anyway so we figured we just pay a bit more and have the certainty of harmony. Got a really good detailed scan as part of the process too. You don't have to find out baby's sex. They ask if you want to know and if not omit it from the report.

christine bit miserable of them not to properly pour at least a first drink and then tell you to top yourself up. Re the advice, I know it's hard, but you may as well get used to it and perfect your "hmmm" noises (while totally ignoring any advice you want to). The cot is a nice offer. The mattress is the important bit and you could buy a new one.

alduxbury · 02/01/2016 17:25

Hi all. 10+2 today but the internal scan today showed only 6 weeks of development. Have to go back on the 11th for them to confirm that the development has stopped and we will go from there (unless I have a large bleed before hand).

We are both devastated but taking comfort in each other. I know that a MMC which is what this is looking like are much rarer than standard miscarriages and that there is no rhyme or reason for them to happen, which at least feels like a blessing.

Ordering a curry tonight and going to rest until back at work on Monday. We will get through this and then once we have the a-okay try again. We fell pregnant our first month of trying so hopefully 2016 will be the year we become parents.

Best of luck to all of you for healthy pregnancies and happy parenthood! Thanks

Eminado · 02/01/2016 17:30

So very sorry to hear your news aldux

I found the miscarriage board a great place for support, whenever/if you feel up to it.

I admire your positive spirit and again, am very sorry. Flowers

chandelierswinging · 02/01/2016 18:03

aldux Flowers so sorry to hear your news. I had the same thing happen last year and, as Eminado says, I found the mc board very helpful and supportive.

Thinking of you.

Jw35 · 02/01/2016 19:08

Aldux Thanks sad news. I hope you have a healthy pregnancy next time. My first ever pregnancy was also a mmc. I also get pregnant straightway and have two other healthy girls. All the best xxx

I'm not doing any testing for abnormalities but good luck to those who are

Sorry to hear that aldux, take it easy and be good to yourself. Best of luck for 2016 Flowers

Waiting keeping fingers crossed for you!

Lily hope you're starting to feel better on the drip. Get well soon Flowers

FourForYouGlenCoco · 02/01/2016 19:44

aldux I'm so so sorry. I know a little of what you're feeling. Will keep you in my thoughts and really hope your next pregnancy is easy and straightforward.
waiting any updates from you? It sounds like there's still hope, when will you have a scan?
Jury still out here on testing. I think we will prob go for the initial NT screening but not take it any further, regardless of the result (unless incompatible with life or something).
Jw hope the iron helps! Definitely second the connecta idea, I have a toddler connecta and used it from when DD was 6 months to when she was nearly 2 and finally got too big and wriggly. It's been passed round 3 of my friends and is still going strong - will come back to me once this little one is big enough!
If I could recommend 1 thing to any of the new mums, it would be a good quality sling. I'm def getting a newborn one this time round!
christine totally understand why you're feeling a bit isolated by your OH's family. When me and DH got back together after a very traumatic split 2 years earlier, his family were very wary of me for a while. I got pg quickly after we got back together and it was awkward for a little while but as the bump grew we all relaxed! And now I love my MIL nearly as much as my own mum. I wouldn't try and force the relationship, just be yourself and things will grow easier without you really noticing! As for people offering you stuff/stories/unsolicited advice, you'll have to just practise your nod and smile. That will now happen until the end of days, from everyone, including total strangers Angry it's incredibly annoying! Just take it with grace and forget it again straight away.

BuffaloCustardbath · 02/01/2016 20:23

So very sorry aldux, take care of yourself and wishing you lots of love and all best wishes for positive news later in the year xxx

Thinking of you aldux

In a bit of a panic here. Had pink spotting this afternoon which has turned red, along with some cramping. Phoned NHS 24 who put me in contact with the out of hours department at my local EPU. Apparently I have to wait and see what happens and give them a phone when they re-open on Tuesday (the only time I've regretted the extra bank holiday we get in Scotland!). Trying to tell myself what will be will be, but I'm feeling pretty shaky.

BuffaloCustardbath · 02/01/2016 22:13

hgleslie I hope the bleeding eases overnight for you and you get seen quickly this week - bleeding is always a worry but it's also really common. I won't say try not to panic as I know that's impossible but there are loads of reasons for bleeding and a lot of them are harmless and innocent. I had bleeding at 10w and was absolutely distraught, sonographers couldn't find any reason for it and it was put down as "one of those things", it never happened again and my little one is a fine and dandy toddler now. I hope that provides a little bit of comfort. Holding your hand and offering support x

Christinedonna · 02/01/2016 22:23

At scans that found blood hanging around that they said was completely normal so if that came out if would have scared that shit out of me but been nothing to worry about. It went by my next scan so must have been absorbed or something?? But just think sometimes you do have blood waiting for your period and if it's collected it has to go somewhere! It really may be nothing to worry about. Il have my fingers crossed for you

hgleslie89 · 03/01/2016 00:01

Thanks buffalo and Christine. It's eased up a bit over the last hour or so and the cramps seem to be mostly trapped wind Blush so I might have been panicking for nothing. This whole being pregnant thing really isn't helped by my natural inclination to worry about everything!

MrsSantaClause · 03/01/2016 08:02

Thinking of you aldux and others going through scary times Thanks

SharyBobbins · 03/01/2016 09:05

How are you this morning Hgleslie?

Jw35 · 03/01/2016 09:48

Hope you're ok Agle Thanks hopefully nothing to worry about.

2nd day of iron water, hopefully I can feel less fatigued Sad sickness not as bad unless I don't eat (or smell the bin)! 9+4 today

hgleslie89 · 03/01/2016 10:10

No more bleeding for the moment, but still a bit crampy. Fingers crossed I was panicking over nothing.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 03/01/2016 10:23

hgl it does sound completely normal. Fwiw I've had terrible pains before now and it was gas Blush literally curling up in a ball, couldn't move levels of pain! Fingers crossed it's nothing. Def still give EPU a ring on tues though just to put your mind at rest.

lilygirl81 · 03/01/2016 11:25

Aldux I'm so sorry X

Chrustine my MIL can try my patience like no one else on the planet, I try to just smile and nod. Mind you she has been so sweet since we told her. It might get very expensive to get everything new so could you suggest that you are trying to work out exactly what you want and will let them know?

I'm back home, and feel almost like a new person, it's amazing! Although I do have horrendous trapped wind, but I can deal with that! I'd definitely recommend speaking to your EPU if you are struggling to eat for a period of time, it only took 4 slices of toast and some soup for me to get out starvation mode, but until I had the drip and the various injections and tablets, that was so far beyond me it was untrue. Apparently they normally treat this as a day case, so you'd not normally need to be in over night.

JW I hope the iron helps X

hg fingers crossed for you, how annoying about your EPU being shut.

I agree that this pregnancy thing brings out everyone's panicked side, there is just so much they don't tell you, or that even if they do is hard to believe.

PickleBot · 03/01/2016 12:38

Trapped wind is awful, I have IBS so I'm used to trapped wind! I find stretches like these help. [http://healthyliving.azcentral.com/stretches-expel-stomach-gases-4513.html]

hgleslie89 · 03/01/2016 13:32

Pickle I have IBS too, which makes me more concerned when I do have cramps as I'm not sure whether they're normal IBS ones or if I should be worrying!

Got some brown mucus-y discarge this afternoon, hoping it's the remnants of yesterday's bleeding coming out.
