Know exactly what you mean about looking huge twoplusone! My stomach is really sticking out today. I'm just hoping my work trousers fit round me when I put them on in the morning (I've been slobbing around in comfy joggers all weekend). I only work term time, so only 2.5 days to go until I finish for the hols - will just have to hold it all in until then! ....Then the search is on for smart work trousers that will accommodate my growing belly ready for when I go back in Jan...Don't want to spend a fortune....any ideas?!

twoplusone · 17/12/2006 20:46

I know soem of the bigger tesco stores used to domaternity wear maybe try there for some work clothes..

Swift- good luck on midwives appontment and scan.

Polarbeartime · 17/12/2006 22:52

Try sanatogen instead of pregnacare - I used it when breastfeeding and not pregnant and had no probs with constipation - of course now I am constipated but that's due to the pregnancy. Its recommended by the Royal College of Midwives I think (they have thaton their label)

Chooster · 18/12/2006 09:00

Hello! Its so re-assuring coming on here to see that other people have the same symptoms - constipation, odd smelling wee, stomach twinges... the list goes on! Great to hear about your new found energy abgirl - looks like you are going to enjoy the xmas build up this week.

I'm really getting the xmas spirit now. We had xmas part one this weekend in Newcastle with my cousins who can't make it next weekend. My whole family was there and it was fab . My cousin is 18 wks and it was lovely to see her little bump! Hopefully our little ones will be 9 weeks apart in age which would be lovely. I managed to keep my news to myself as well and thought I did a good job of it! Hopefully no-ones guessed...

Right, got to try and think of some more xmas pressies to get this lunchtime...

morning all, can't believe it is one week til christmas! I am in super good mood as i had an early scan on friday and all is well with my little bean. Saw the heartbeat and unmbilical cord too. Very very relieved, now i can enjoy my symptomless pg without being paranoid i've had a mc. I am 4-5 days less pg than i thought so only 9+2 (but i think these things are plus or minus 5 days in accuracy anyway so...who knows) Dp also came back on sat night after 3 weeks away so that was a double bonus. Hope all well with everyone else and hello to all newcomers.

twoplusone · 18/12/2006 12:45

Hi all, glad the scan and everything went well earlyriser.
Chooster well done you keeping it quiet, I wish I could.

I keep blabbing... trying to think ++++ just want the 12wk scan to know everything is OK. (I used to take the no bleeding as a good sigh until I found out about missed mc!! )

But here is to thinking positive positive positive!!

Yes I have been having that firststar! Some days it's OK but other days I can only be bothered to eat about half my usual amount. Not often feeling sick these days but it is very hard to find things I fancy eating. The bin is being very well fed though these days!

I was tempted to bring it up when I was with my family, but its a bit of a loaded subject. The women in my family are very outwardly emotional and affectionate which I love normally but not when I am the focus (I take after my dad ). If I said I was PG the tears would start about the possibility of losing it again, and I'm not sure I can take that. Its also not fair on them as I still won't know over christmas.

Also it was a year ago today that I gave birth to my stillborn DS2 at 21wks . I'm just going to keep my head down and hope I can get through Christmas without anyone finding out.

Its probably just today, but am not feeling very hopeful about this pregnancy now... Sorry to be down about this, just wish the 3rd Jan hurries along

Hi all, haven't been around for a while, have been feeling worse and worse and worse on Sat got admitted to hospital with hyper-emersis (or morning sickness gone mad) Had loads of fluids and now on anti sickness meds so feeling loads better still some nausea but at least managing to eat Yeah!!!

Congrats to all those that have had scans as a result of being admitted rather than paying £80 for a private scan tomorrow we get one free on the NHS tomorrow Yeah (again)!!!

Good luck to all of those facing uncertainty over christmas and my thoughts rae with you....

Have to go as no need to do all of the pre christmas stuff |I should have been doing for the past few weeks into a few days

Miaou · 18/12/2006 17:50

oh poor you doris, I'm suffering with morning sickness but not on that scale!!! Hope the meds have an effect

ChristmasCakehead · 18/12/2006 18:54

Chooster - a big hug on a difficult day. Thinking of you. Do stay positive.

Firstar - think normal Pregnacare doesn't have the supplement, but there's a special 'With Fish Oils' one you can get as well. I've only seen it very recently, so might be new out.

Had my booking in appointment today and showed up high sugar in my wee. Nurse grilled me on what i'd had for breakfast and had to confess to loading my shredded wheat with sugar and then have excess marmalade on toast. Well, I do have breakfast with a toddler... Because I'm 35, they've put me down as needing to be monitored for gestational diabetes. bah! If only I'd laid off the sugar...

Hope everyone else is feeling ok...

twoplusone · 18/12/2006 21:27

doris- poor you, on the plus side though atleast you get your scan..

Bless my dd tonight, i bathed ds at 6pm then put him to bed, whilst I was waiting for him to drop off after his stories i feel asleep in my bed. I awaoke at 9.30 came down stairs to find dd just finishing her homework and going to bed. She is such a good girl and so grown up for her age. I am very proud..

cazzybabs · 18/12/2006 21:54

Oh god I am so tired all the time - I think my body knows it is on holiday and so now all it wants to do is sleep and I am startign to feel sick...but no wierd cravings and am starting to thing I dreamt the whole thing (apart from absence of AF).

I went to the doctors today which was a big waste of time...the doctor just told me to make a nurses appoinment with the reception and as I am away on holiday for 3 weeks I can't make one till I get back and then I also wanted some cream for my excema/psorasis -0 she didn't even look at it and told me there is nothing she can do as I am pregnant - AHHHH so I lam eft with looking horrible and being itchy!

JennStarOfWonder · 18/12/2006 22:40

Hugs to you Chooster. Thinking of you at this difficult time. I'm rubbish at this sort of thing.

Cazzybabs bollocks you can't use anything while pregnant. what do you normally use. You won't be able to get anything over the counter in a chemist but there is no way you can't apply a steroid prescribed by a doctor.

cazzybabs · 18/12/2006 22:43

I meant to say Chooster big hugs, while I am sure that this is a very very difficult time (I cannot imagine what you must be feeling) there is no reason not to think that you will not be joinning us in July with a beautiful baby. Stay positive hun!

And the doctor said she couldn't. I haven;t had an attack for about 9 years (I was so happy as I thought I was rid) - hey ho!

JennStarOfWonder · 18/12/2006 23:13

It's still bollocks! Suppose you have tried loads of emollients and stuff. Oats in tights in the bath?
