Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
snowytyphoonsmum · 19/12/2006 20:05

Please don't mention consultant "friends". This particular cons supposedly has an eye for the younger nurses. I'm 28 and don't consider myself as young anymore but compared to some of the others I could be.(I was the youngest at the dinner) I was only informed of this fact as he was walking towards me.
When they said that I got thinking, but I am paranoid by nature."Maybe that is why he let me watch my sisters caesearian section" - really good you should watch one if you get the chance.
Twoplusone :- FF is my "pet name" for the anti christ or one of my bosses. It basically means Fat Face. Recently I promoted her to FFF. (F*king Fat Face)

I apologise for the language.

snowytyphoonsmum · 19/12/2006 20:07

I feel bubbles down there which is prob wind but I like to pretend.

I'm scared. I haven't felt sick today. Not like over the weekend anyway. I'm 8wk 2days. Should it stop around now. I thought it would be a few more weeks. Boobs still sore. Could still sleep on a washing line.(I could do that b4 pg)

earthtomummy · 19/12/2006 20:15

I'm sure I'm feeling movements already in the evening when i sit down. Wouldn't worry too much re. the sickness Snwoy - i think my is around on a daily basis but is def. much worse for 3 or 4 days and then less bad and more manageable other days. Maybe hormone surges - i don't know. It's a wierd thing isn't it - hating feeling sick, but if you stop feeling sick then wanting to again! No peasing us pg. mums! My scan's on fri so looking forward to it hopefully going ok and being able to tell the children. wierdly my bump is growing less quickly with this pg. than with my 3rd..? Anyone else on their 4th what's your tummy doing? (that is if you don't mind sharing!).

twoplusone · 19/12/2006 20:35

snowytyphoonsmum- The ms can come and go from day to day for me, try not to worry much.

I look on the side of no bleeding no problem...

JennStarOfWonder · 19/12/2006 22:54

Firststar I don't mind, but I'm afraid I'm of the train of do as I say not as I do....

JennStarOfWonder · 19/12/2006 22:55

I'll just say what I don and absolutely NOT recommend it

JennStarOfWonder · 19/12/2006 22:55

do even

snowytyphoonsmum · 20/12/2006 07:18

Sickness is back today anyway so I was just panicking.

Like the attitude of no bleeding, no problem. Going to make it my new mantra

It is only 7am and my living room is full of discarded wrapping paper. It took me a good hour to wrap all those presents and she ripped it off in less than thirty seconds. She doesn't think it can be her birthday as she hasn't got any bigger than yesterday. the mind of a 4yr old is quite sweet.

thanks for all the birthday messages for her.

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 07:48

snowytyphoonsmum- happy birthday again for your DD. They are so cute a t that age arent they in what they say..

I made that my moto with the other two aswell otherwise I think wewould panic too much as symtoms come and go..

My poor dog isnt sure what to make of the frost, she has never been in the cold before as she was bred in cyprus, bless her. She looks alot better though out here as her coat is growing properly..

I was looking through the other threads and there is one about people not knowing they are pg until near enough the end. This and other things have made me question....
How much of pg bumps (i.e showing early) etc is all down to you/us subconsiously changing our posture so that the bumps stick out.
And even down to ms and things do you not find that symptoms appear ten fold onve you have had the positive test.

There was someone on the other thread who didnt find out till they were 24 wks at her 12wk scan!!. She had no bump but the next day she had one... It just made me think.. What do you think?

Cyee · 20/12/2006 09:58

Hi all,

I've been keeping up with the posts but haven't had anything very interesting to say... until I visited Matalan yesterday. I think way back in the thread people were talking of bras. Well, I love a padded/t-shirt/nipple-hiding bra, and yesterday found wirefree t-shirt bras in Matalan for £4! They have quite a few cheap wire free versions, including a maternity t-shirt bra (£7).

Welcome to the new joiners and I'm glad so many are having good scans. Sorry for everyone thats having bad experiences. Good luck to those with scans in the coming weeks. Ongoing ms commiserations (sp?) as well. I'm 11+3 and sickness still here. Better start coming up with Christmas dinner contingency plan - thank goodness DH is a good cook.

Wishing you all happy, healthy, restful, ms-light festive times.

:-)

newby29 · 20/12/2006 09:58

Hi all - can I join you? My EDD is july 15th - so I am 10 weeks and 3 days today. Have been hovering but not posting as had a mc in May and have been too scared to accept this really. (Dont have any kids at the moment) But I went for a private scan on Saturday (decided the cost was worth it if it would get rid of some of my anxieties before christmas and all the family times) and all was looking good. Heard the heartbeat and measurements were all as they should be. So I am just beginning to beleive it!!! MS has been a killer - mainly in the evening, and lots of nausea but not much actual sickness. Have had to keep eating to stave it off and feel the size of a house already! Ah well. Have my 12 week scan on Jan 4th and just cant wait for that.
So thats me! Hope its OK to join you all - is fantastic to read people going through exactly the same stages - very comforting. All thes best for very happy and healthy pregnancies!!!

swift1 · 20/12/2006 10:11

HI all,

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 11:56

welcome newby29 you are due he same date as me,

swift glad your scan went well. not sure where to get a coat from sorry,,

bubble78 · 20/12/2006 13:15

does anyone know where i can get maternaity bras and nursing bras for a larger bust

ChristmasCakehead · 20/12/2006 14:05

Swift1, Topshop Maternity had some coats when I was there last week. Think you can order online too. Also, would the Next catalogue have them? Although I tried to order a few things from there last night and all the maternity stuff seemed out of stock pre-Christmas.
Bubble78, do M+S do your size of maternity bra? They don't do mine (have small back - 32), but they go up to quite large sizes, as I recall. Think you can get those online too.
so says the Online Shopping Queen...

Hi all and welcome Newby, You're MS sounds similar to mine - Although I can feel it most of the day, its worse in the evening and I have to eat constantly to keep it at bay. Last night I stupidly thought I could get away with just having a bowl of cereal for dinner, which I paid for an hour later when the I started being sick. More stodge tonight then!

Wow, Firststar - Thats great you had such a great scan!!! And wonderful that all is going so well. You must be so so excited...

snowytyphoonsmum · 20/12/2006 18:33

Who ever invented the wiry tag things that hold toys into boxes needs to be shot. It took me half an hour to get the toys out of the boxes.
DP came home as the kids were getting hungry and tired. My sister arrived with her two children DS 1 month and DD just 2yrs. The house was madness. Babies crying and toddlers screaming. Fighting over toys. After they had gone and DD gone for an early night he said he'd changed his mind about the baby (I hope he is joking) The difference between my sisters family and mine is the age gap between here children is 24 months (and in my opinion the eldest is loved too much but that is my opinion and kicks off when the baby get attention) the age gap between mine will be 4 and a half years. Hopefully Dd won't be as demanding.
I won't get going on my opinions of how my sister raises her children but it is COMPLETELY different to me.

snowytyphoonsmum · 20/12/2006 18:35

Great news on the scan Firststar. I have another one on 15 Jan with a 3d scanner. I'll be 12 weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to see splodge move by then. It must have been fantastic.

twoplusone · 20/12/2006 18:38

In the last halk hour my left ear has blocked on me if I try to unblovk it it makes me feel really dizzy, and hurts like hell!!! Oh god i really cant cope with this..

lynnec · 20/12/2006 20:30

Giggle at this one!
A mother was out walking with her 4 year old daughter.

The daughter picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth.

The mother took the item away from her daughter and asked her not to do that.

"Why?" the daughter asked.

"Because it's been laying outside, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" the mother replied.

At this point, the daughter looked at her with total admiration and asked, "Wow! How do you know all this stuff?"

"All mums know this stuff. It's on the Mummy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mummy."

They walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but the daughter was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."

"Exactly" the mother replied back with a big smile on her face

littlepiggie · 20/12/2006 20:34

Dont want to start an argument, but how can a child be loved too much? Some young children find it hard having to share to people they love most in the world.
