Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Jennster · 25/01/2007 22:03

Oh and I've been told my bump has a masculine aura so it's boy. The person who told me last time was right, but then it's not exactly bad odds.

Myfairone · 26/01/2007 09:34

Bubble- glad your scan went well. Its so exciting to see your little one bouncing around isnt it?!

Jennster - Thanks for the mag tips

Twoplusone - Sorry to hear your carpet cleaning was a nightmare.

Well, I had yet another sleepless night last night!
But I do feel a little calmer today and less miserable! woohoooo!

HOpe you are all feeling good today and that your MS is nowhere to be found!

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH Yesterday was the coldest day of the season so far, and guess what?????? We have run out of oil

Grrrr. We were supposed to be signed up to a scheme whereby the oil company came and topped up our tank regularly, and pay by DD - only they haven't set it up and now we have run OUT and it is FREEEEEEEEZING!!! Dh rang them straightaway yesterday morning and they are (fingers crossed) hopefully coming to deliver some more today - but if they can't manage today it will be Tuesday before we get any!!!! We have one tiny electric heater and that is it . Poor ds, his little nose is permanently red!!

On a happier note - we got a puppy on Monday! She is a little lab/collie cross and soooo sweet. She needs a lot of training (obviously) - she is just 10 weeks old! - but she has settled in really well. We have(well, dh has) been wanting a dog for years, and I have been either reluctant or have not seen the right dog - but then this one came up and it seemed to be good timing - as we have 6 months-ish to get the real hard work of the training underway before no. 4 comes along. The kids are totally thrilled too!

On the PG front - still very tired, occasionally nauseous, still in my ordinary clothes (and trying to stay in them as long as possible because I get sooooo bored of maternity wear!!), and I have experienced a few movements already!! Very early, but you often feel them early with a subsequent pg.

abgirl · 26/01/2007 10:26

Miaou am v sympathetic, bet it is really cold up there! Our warm air heating system packed up on Boxing Day and we've been without central heating ever since as British Gas came out to repair it and promptly condemned it. New central heating with combi boiler and proper radiators being fitted next week - could live without the hassle but looking forward to being warm again! I recommend lots of layers and all staying in one room.

Your puppy sounds lovely....

Chooster · 26/01/2007 10:48

Wow there's been lots happening.

Miaou - Thats rotten about the oil! Hopefully it will arrive soon so you can have a warmer weekend. Fab news about the puppy - I bet the kids are thrilled (and your DH )

Great news about giving up your job LynneC - it must be so nice to spend time doing what you want to do...

Hi to everyone else!! I haven't been on for a few days but its good to hear of good scans / movement and reducing MS for most of us.

As for me everything is going well. My scan on wednesday was really good and the bean was bouncing around again. There's no hint of a problem but I'm still a wee bit cautious so I'm going to have a triple test done next week. Just one more scan to go in 3 weeks and then I think we have the all clear

Just a note for those who came from the TTC pages on here - MrsMcjnr got her BFP today!!! Needless to say she's thrilled...

Miaou - So sorry to hear about your heating. These things always happen when its so bloody cold don't they!
The puppy sounds adorable! Great mix of breeds for around children too..just be careful that the collie in it doesn't start herding them into a corner!

Abgirl - I am sure that your heating arrangements haven't helped with you being sick too! You will be nice and toasty when you get your heating fixed though!

LynneC - I am so jealous that you have given up work! Heaven!

Chooster - So glad to hear that you saw your little one and all was well! Congratulations, you must be so happy.

I'm so pleased its Friday....so tired today and really looking forward to the weekend so I can relax and hopefully get my house clean!

Just a quickie - no time to catch up with everyone -

Chooster glad the scan went well. It's fab about MrsMcJ isn't it. I had a little tear or two!

Miaou - sorry to hear you're freezing your bits off. I'm freezing all the time anyway, and we've GOT heating, so all my sympathies. Snuggle up with that puppy for warmth...

Jennster your post re Annabel Karmel cracked me up!

byeee!

Bodkin · 26/01/2007 11:51

Abgirl - just saw that you are freezing as well - since Boxing day! Are you half eskimo?!!!

Cyee · 26/01/2007 12:35

God that's fab about MrsMcJr. what's everyone over there going to do without her?
Must go and post my congrats!

Cyee · 26/01/2007 12:51

That was very rude of me - hello fellow July-ers. I was just very excited about that news.

Hope everyone's doing ok. Hope you eskimos warm up soon... nothing worse than coldness and heating problems. Hope your Vax recovers twoplusone... I imagine it all full with bubbbles!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Cyee

Myfairone · 26/01/2007 13:45

Okay here's a question for y'all. Do your nipples hurt at all?

I just went out for a walk (admittedly its freezing out!) but straight away they were as hard as bullets and really sore with a kind of throbbing feeling! (oh and I was fully clothed )

Anyone else have the same thing?

Chooster · 26/01/2007 14:11

Ah, you see thats where you went wrong myfairone - wearing the clothes. Perhaps try topless next time so there's nothing for your nips to rub against

On that 'vein' (sorry, pardon the pathetic pun) but I went for a bra fittting the other day and I was shocked by the blue veiny map all of my boobs. I know I had this with my DS but I was still surprised how bad it looks.

OP posts:
auntymandy · 26/01/2007 14:27

I am so hot today..its rediculous!!!
My boobs are once again growing out of all preprtion!!!
Bit achy now and then!!

Myfairone · 26/01/2007 14:35

Chooster - I considered going naked through Liverpool Street Station but thought the chances of me not getting arrested were not good!

Auntymandy - I am hot too! I seem to have my own weather system right now! The trains are just so hot and I find myself scowling at people who close windows!

Hope everyone is having a good Friday...I have a headache...need to go home!
x

catstar · 26/01/2007 15:00

Glad someone else mentioned the nips. Have been shocked at how much they hurt in the cold - find myself walking along with my arms protecting them. And the veins! I have very pale skin, almost translucent - look like a road map already!

Myfairone · 26/01/2007 16:19

I am celebrating that there is a pregnancy symptom that I dont seem to have!

I am quite tanned so cannot see any blue veins right now....give it a few weeks!

In order that you are not all jealous of my veinless boobs, I would like to add that 2 spots have appeared on my face! WTF! All I have done is sit at my desk and bang, there they are! Arghghghghghgghgh!

Gotta love the prego hormones!

Have a great day everyone
x

Miaou · 26/01/2007 18:35

Crisis over. Oil delivered this afternoon. I am gradually beginning to thaw out now!

pulapula · 26/01/2007 19:13

I haven't been able to log on for a couple of days and have missed loads of goings on!

On the Centerparcs debate, I took DD when she was about 5 months old, and it was hard work- we only went in the pool once I think, and as she would only have an hour or two of awake time before needing a nap, we were quite restricted and spent a lot of time in the villa or pushing her round to get her to sleep. The general advice is to not take your babies to public swimming pools until they've had their third set of immunisations, which is usually around 4-5 months old.

I'm off to Centerparcs this March- we decided it was easier to go before next baby arrives! I plan to have a mums-to-be massage, which is very relaxing, and you can use the spa for free, basically because you can't use the sauna/steam roooms but you can chill out there away from the kids!

pulapula · 26/01/2007 19:20

I've also added a couple of photos to my profile if you click on the yellow icon. One is my scan photo, and the other is my DD.

emmyb · 26/01/2007 19:39

Caroline Miaou was right about CF only becomes an issue if you are a carrier when thinking of having kids and the odds are 1 in 4 if the other person is a carrier. If they are not there is no chance of passing on CF.

Miaou are you mad a lab collie cross??!!! We have two one year old labs they are crazy enough without crossing them with another breed. They fit in well in our house though. Good luck with the training and enjoy!

Ive been off work this week with DD she has been really ill and is not snapping out of it, so Im feeling quite stressed. Hardly have time to think about being pregnant when you have a toddler its so different from the first time.
Im 17 weeks today and I still feel sick in the afternoons its beginning to p**s me off a bit now.

Got full results back from CVS and all is normal horaah. Just got one more hurdle with the scans looking at the heart,.... Oh yeah and the small matter of giving birth!!

twoplusone · 26/01/2007 21:59

pulapula- Great scan pic.. your dd is so cute..

Miaou- Glad the oil arrived today.. must check my oil levels!! just incase...

Lol at nips with everyone.. my have been so sensitive since the start. veilns are starting to come through more prominant.

Emmy- Great news about your results..sorry to hear your dd is ill though I hope she gets better soon.

As for holidays, we are considering driving down to spain for a week in August.....Though we will see....

Chooster glad the scan went well...

I am seeing the midwife on monday, hoping she will be able to hear the babies heartbeat.....

Have good weekend all

Bodkin · 26/01/2007 22:26

Pula Pula - I didn't know you could use the spa at centerparcs for free if preggers! Gutted, just spent £32 for the priveledge last week! Mind you, I was naughty and used the steam rooms - I know I know, but a friend who spent a lot of time in Germany said they all use steam rooms when preggers, so I felt fine about it. It was bliss!

Re sore nips - Myfairone - suffered terribly with that with my first pregnancy. Felt like having a bulldog clamp on each nipple when cold, but not suffering so far with this pregnancy. Have you tried a thermal vest?!

Have a good weekend Y'all

abgirl · 27/01/2007 10:00

Thanks for all the sympathy regarding the heating - we live in a terrace so it hasn't been too cold, adn been wearing lots of jumpers and staying snuggled under duvets. The cold spell has probably toughened us up a bit so we are going to try and use our new heating less once its fitted. Luckily we had some savings put by for emergencies so they're been spent on the system, and DH (who is normally a SAHD) is going to get some more work while I'm on maternity leave to rebuild the savings.

Have totally been put off the idea of going to centreparcs - think we will leave it until the baby is a toddler or older, think we may go self catering to cornwall instead. I quite fancy visiting the Eden project. Is difficult to plan a holiday before the baby's born as am saving my annual leave to add on to my maternity leave and as DS was so early we've been advised not to go away from 29 weeks onwards....

Sorry no weekly stats this week but feeling much better so normal service will be resumed next week...
