Hello everyone - Just starting a new thread for this... Will send a message in a mo.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Pulapula- Really don't worry about the strepsils. The other ones (not extra) that are not behind a counter are fine if you still need some. You really don't feel the baby moving that frequently so early on either.

emmyb · 15/01/2007 16:45

Well hello 2nd tromester, hello sex, not just sex but great sex!!!

Sorry if TMI but did enjoy after 3 months of celebacy (dont know how to spell that word and dont really want to know!!)

emmyb · 15/01/2007 16:46

tromester??? spelling/typing is appalling today even had to ask kids in class how to spell electric. Not good for a science teacher!!

catstar · 15/01/2007 16:50

I agree - I can't imagine how Guilia must have felt. Conversely it has got me wondering if the good news I received is accurate, but I don't suppose there's any use worrying too much.

I hope the ms is starting to subside for you all now. I'm 15 weeks today and can honestly say that yesterday was the best day I've had for about 9 weeks, although that may have had something to do with seeing the sun - which seems to be a rare occurrence these days!!! Roll on the summer - eeek!

I seem to have a bit of a tum today, but that may be because of the numerous roast potatoes (cooked in goose fat of course), yorkshire puds & roast beef that I consumed last night. I just couldn't get the thought out of my head since Twoplusone mentioned it the other day .

Pulapula mentioned in her recent post feeling flutterings/movement - if this is my first pregnancy, should I be feeling these yet? Hope you get reassurance at the clinic, Pula.

I've still got another two weeks until my first midwife appointment - I'll be 17 weeks then. This seems quite late compared to some of you and a long time to worry about all the things there are to worry about!

Jennster · 15/01/2007 17:02

First time I didn't feel anything until after 17 weeks, not sure exactly when but had a problem with ligament pain at 17 weeks and saw a doctor who asked if I was feeling movements. I got all worried then that I hadn't but it was really quite late for me. Have since experienced what felt like movements when I wasn't pregnant too so who knows!

Emmyb funny you should mention it but made my husband VERY happy Sunday morning. (13 weeks on the dot) Had been dreaming about it ALL night.

Jennster · 15/01/2007 17:04

Oh and just found this website Jojomamanbebe quite good. Not particularly cheap, but nice looking clothes maybe for special occasions

pulapula · 15/01/2007 17:07

Hello. Thanks for your words of support.

All seems well. Saw the midwife and after a very nervous minute she was able to detect a very faint heartbeat. I was beginning to fear the worst. Last week it took about 3 seconds to find it, so guess it shows the baby was in a different position and more 'internal' which explains the fact I couldn't feel it the same.

By the way, this isn't my first baby, and I couldn't feel movements til around 21 weeks with the first, so don't worry if you are a first timer as it usually takes a bit longer as the tummy muscles are firmer and you aren't sure what it should feel like.

Had my nuchal scan today. 1:14000 chance so I'd say that is low risk. The Cons spent about 20 minutes scanning me and I needed a wee. She went thru everything. I saw the brain, blood flow thru heart all limbs present and correct and got about 15 photos of it. 7 with the 3d scanner. The quality is brilliant. I don't know how to post them on here. If anyone is intersted in seeing them you'll have to explain how to do it (in really simple language).
She had a student there and the student asked about the sex of the baby at this age and the Cons told her at this stage most babies look like boys on the scanner as sex organs are swollen and clitoris can look like something else. So I am no wiser. Will have to find out at 20 week scan.

MissusC · 15/01/2007 18:11

Glad all well with everyone today... can't wait til my sex drive comes back, hope it's soon as DH is patient but gagging for it and I feel so bad turning him down endlessly, but if you ain't interested, you ain't, isn't that right?!! Any food I should be eating???!!!

Question for you all - I have the most itchy excema and a rash, apparently caused by pregnancy, that is nearly driving me bananas. It's all over my tum, bum, thighs and hips and it nearly drives me to distraction with the itching. (DH woke me in the night to tell me has was going to throw me out of the window if I didn't stop scratching!! - I can't help it I said, it's soooooooooooo itchy!!) Anyway, enough waffle - does anyone have similar/know someone who has it etc. I've never had it before and the doc says it is caused by the hormones. I have an appt with a homeopath in two weeks, but until then really don't want to use the steroid cream I've been prescribed as it doesn't seem to do much and I don't feel it's right, what with the baby and all.....

twoplusone · 15/01/2007 18:34

typhoonsmum- glad scan went well do you want to email me them and I will put them onto profiles for you, as I am rubish at explaining what needs to be done.. karen0701athotmailcom if you want.

Glad everyone elses scans have gone well,
Good luck those with scans this week..

Trimum2 · 15/01/2007 18:44

Missus C - I have similar sounding dryness /itchy legs and upper arms. Flakiness thats a bit like ezcema and funny texture to my skin. Plus rash on my legs. Has only developed in the past week.

My sister gave me a really posh moisturiser as part of christmas present that smells very strongly. Lovely but very strong perfume off it (Aqua di Parma)

I thought that I must have developed an allergic reaction to it... but maybe its not. Could it be pregnancy? My skin feels and looks terrible. Has never happened before.

Scratching is driving me bonkers....

Myfairone · 15/01/2007 21:19

Evening ladies...well to answer the scratching question (and yes I too had a very itchy rash) I used Aloe Vera Gel. Perfectly safe for baby and Holland & Barrett were doing a special offer on it (not sure if its still on though). This was recommended to me and I have to say it really cooled the skin and the itchyness.

Myfairone · 15/01/2007 21:23

Whoops, posted accidently! Typhoonsmum, what fantastic results to your nuchal scan! wow! you must be thrilled....congratulations. I am due to go tomorrow and I know I am not going to sleep tonight. So very very nervous, almost to the point of crying. I have no idea why I am getting so worked up. DH has done his best tonight to calm me but I think I am best left! Just want to get it done and know that everything is alright. This time tomorrow I will have had it and hopefully will feel better.

And for all of you who are enjoying sex....Im jealous! DH seems really worried about it and I have no inclination...I'm hoping once the 'evening sickness' has dissapeared I will feel sexier!

Well, heres hoping you all have a very restful night and that the flutterings/scratching/MS doesnt keep you awake!

Nite nite everyone.

typhoonsmum · 15/01/2007 22:26

Twoplusone I'll email you them but won't be till tomorrow. I'm still shattered and need to sleep. Spent evening fighting with Adobe Photoshop CS2 on PC. (Brother installed it for me as a present but it is WAY to complicated)

twoplusone · 16/01/2007 06:18

Myfairone- goodluck with the scan today..

Typhoonsmum- ok will keeop an eye out for the email.

Ds woke up at about 4.30 am this morning I managed to stay in bed till 5.15 with him climbing all over me and in and out...but there was no chance of him going back to sleep... it is going to be a long day unless I can get him down for a nap..... KIDS,,,,...

Myfairone · 16/01/2007 10:21

Morning everyone!

Twoplusone - Sorry to hear that your DS was awake so early...hopefully you can get him down for a nap and grab some time for yourself.

Scan day today! hooray...just thought I would check my tube journey so I left in plenty of time and i see that the station I need is closed! OH GREAT! So have decided to take the pressure off and get a cab so I not more stressed by the time I get there!

Will check in with you all later.

Have a great day ladies

Chooster · 16/01/2007 10:32

Good luck with the scan today myfairone - we'll be thinking of you, but like you say there's no reason to think there will be a problem. Let us know how you get on!!!

Typhoonsmum - Great news about your scan - would love to see 3d pics - I saw a 4d picture the other day and it was amazing!! Only dull one dimentional pictures of my bean at the moment.

Congratulations to everyone who has had good scans too - After myfairone I think we are all done!.

Glad the subject of sex came up as I was going to ask about that last week. Even the thought of a kiss made me feel ill never mind sex - I just did not fancy it at all!!! The last week I've been good during the day but then feel bad from 7pm ish onwards... However, just since Sunday I've been feeling really good and low and behold my sex drive came back!!! Hoooorrrraaaayyyy And I've started craving salad - ham salad - Yum!!!!!! So I think maybe I'm turning a corner (am 13 + 2).

Got some great news from my best pal last night. She was due on Friday but she sent me a text at 11.30pm yesterdat to say she had a baby girl! Ahhhhhhhh, its such lovely news... Poor thing battled away in labour for 17hrs before needing a c-section. But all is well in the end I couldn't get back to sleep though I was so excited!!!

OP posts:
typhoonsmum · 16/01/2007 10:46

I've sent the photos to twoplusone and she is going to sort out a profile thing so you can see them chooster.

Had a very strange dream last night. Dreamt I went into labour two weeks early but i hadn't bought ANYTHING for the baby. No clothes or anything. I gave birth in my sleep and forgot to check the sex of the baby. Instead of a pram I was carrying it around in a lacrosse stick.

Do I need to refer myself to social services.

Myfairone · 16/01/2007 10:52

Typhoonsmum - I'm not sure about social services, but some kind of service may be appropriate!!!! ...so tell me, are lacrosse sticks cheaper than pushchairs?! lol...you may be onto something!

Chooster - Ham salad and sex!!!! You know how to have a good time girl huh!
Excellent news on your friends little one! Always nice to hear of a healthy and safe arrival.

There are a couple more scans to go...if my memory serves me right I think its Groveregg and LynneC.

Speak later on. xx

MissusC · 16/01/2007 11:40

typhoonsmum I am absolutely in stitches at the thought of the baby in the lacrosse stick. I can't tell you how loud I laughed! Brilliant start to the morning, thank you for that!

myfairone I'm off to Holland & Barrett in seconds few to get hold of a vat of Aloe Vera and when I get home I'm going to fill the bath with it and sit in it for at least 24 hours...! No, seriously, that's a great tip, so thank you. My cousin, whose DS gets excema recommended an over-the-counter treatment called 'Aveeno', (it's an all natural product) \link{http://www.aveeno.com/} (Don't know if that link will work as my first ever attempt...) She swears by it for him when he has flare ups, so might get some of that too.

I'll let you know how I feel by nightfall!!!

MissusC

MissusC · 16/01/2007 11:41

Dammit, it didn't work... will this??

MissusC · 16/01/2007 11:42
