giulia, sorry to hear about your scan, this happened with my friend, and she went on to give birth to a very healthy baby,i'm thinking of you x

Myfairone · 11/01/2007 14:42

giulia - Oh poor you! I can only imagine how stressed you are BUT the blood results are not back yet! Try and keep the faith my friend and wait until tomorrow, when the numbers may change dramatically.

If this helps at all...I have a friend who was 1 - 50 and she opted for an amnio and they came back fine and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl...

Keeping it all crossed for you. Please let us know how you get on and know that we are hear for you.
x

twoplusone · 11/01/2007 14:44

Chooster - So pleased to hear about your little one bouncing around. Too bad the sonographer was like that but (seems a little insensitive!)

Twoplusone and Firststar - Roast dinners and salads! I am jealous! Today I walked around M&S food department hoping for inspiration...sadly, I think they started to get suspicious because every time I thought I had found something I fancied I put it in my basket, only to change my mind and put it back!

Well, I think I am finally over my bad dream from last night and was even able to look my manager square in the eye without going red or feeling guilty!

Big hugs to all and I hope that your afternoons are going well.

Chooster · 11/01/2007 15:43

Guilia - Try to keep positive... Its so hard when you have a worry like this but as has been said before the odds are still pretty good. I'm afraid I'm another who has a friend who had a similar experience (1 in 55 odds too) and the outcome is great - in fact she's only 8 days away from her due date. Try if you can to relax tonight as I'm sure you'll be sitting right next to your phone tomorrow. I think this sort of thing happens to more people than we all realise so you are not alone xxx

Twoplusone - That sounds so similar to my DS (in fact he was ripping up a toilet roll as well the other day - maybe they are swapping notes over mumsnet while are think they are sleeping ). My DS will eat sausages but any other meat is hit and miss. I got him eating some lamb the other say but only because he thought it was chocolate

Sorry for your experience with the mid-wife Firststar - Our little ones are so precious to us that its not nice when someone treats your pregnancy like a mumdane task!

Let us know how you are tomorrow Guilia.

Poor Kyte.

Aren't sonographers stupid at times. Like the time they told me there was an area of bleed at my booking in scan after I'd had two miscarriages. I'm sure they are just told to scan and have no other information about the patient.

Miaou · 11/01/2007 21:13

Kyte, that's awful that the sonographer was so rough with you!! I hope you feel better soon.

I feel so sorry for all you people who are experiencing less-than-perfect treatment by your caregivers. Dh and I are so lucky up here - everyone has time for you and they are all, without exception, lovely people. When I was waiting for my scan on Wednesday I was waiting for over an hour, and started to get a bit worried as we live so far from the hospital that it was getting close to the time we would have to set off home again in order to be back for the dds finishing school! (and we had left in the morning at the same time they left for school - just to give you an idea of the length of journey time!). So I spoke to the receptionist and explained our predicament. We were through having our scan within ten minutes, then taken straight through to see the consultant - and everyone - receptionist, sonographer, midwife, auxiliary mw and consultant himself - apologised for keeping us waiting and causing us worry. I felt almost guilty for complaining then!! I wish you all had the same experience as me.

twoplusone · 12/01/2007 05:57

Kyte..that is awful..I do hope you are going to lodge a complaint..

giulia68 · 12/01/2007 08:11

Hi ladies, thank you so much for your very kind messages which did reassure me. had a rather bad night unsurprisingly looking at my scan picture and feeling terrible and contemplating all sorts of what ifs.. now i have to wait for the phone call. will let you know what happens. can't work out if i am being stupidly worried or not. but readling various other threads on here, 1 in 55 does seem very high.

kyte - that is SO appalling. i hope you will be making a formal complaint because you definitely have cause to. more importantly glad you feel ok and bleeding stopped.

giulia x

Giulia - Thinking of you today. Did they give you an indication of the time they would call? Its awful to have to wait by the phone. I really feel for you and hope that the news is good when it comes. Try and keep the faith and think happy thoughts if you can. Big hugs xx

Kyte - Thats disgusting! Are these people human or what? I hope you are okay.

Bubble - GOod news on the scan! Were you planning on having a nuchal fold scan? If so I think it would be too late at 15 weeks.

Abgirl - Thank you for the stats - So nice to be able to see the time ticking along.

Miaou - Where do you live? Maybe we can all come and holiday with you in July

Chooster - lamb/chocolate! Ewwww the thought of either makes me feel very pukey!

Twoplusone - Sorry about the car news and the battling children. HOpe all is well with you and yours today!

Well, I am in a full maternity outfit today, pants and shirt! And man, am I comfortable! When i sit down I cant feel the button embedding itself into my tummy! Heaven!

Hope you are all well and enjoying your Friday. Big hugs to all and Giulia - Let us know. We are all thinking of you.

abgirl · 12/01/2007 11:28

Miaou, don't worry about it, have changed your dates on next week's list.
