Ah, glad somebody has brought up the subject of Pelvic Floor Exercises (ngh, ngh, nnnngggh )

Can't remember what the hell you're supposed to do - is it supposed to be quick clenches and lots of them, or more of "clench and hold, 2, 3, 4" kind of thing, or a bit of both? Think I might start doing them everytime I'm on MN (should have a pelvic floor like granite by the time this baby comes out then....)

Bodkin · 09/01/2007 21:30

Hi Justbeme - crossed posts. That is interesting that you're seeing movement so early. Mind you, I did a pregnancy test a year ago (when still fully on the pill) because I was actually seeing movement just under my belly button - like my whole belly was moving from side to side. I could not believe my eyes and neither could DP. Needless to say the test was neg, but the movement carried on intermittently for about 6 months after that. Never found out what it was - probably just bowel movements. Not to say that is what you are experiencing but thougth I'd add my two pennorth

justbeme · 09/01/2007 21:34

No it definately isnt that - I remember the sensation from when i was pg with my DD - cant wait for my scan on 8/2 now!

twoplusone · 09/01/2007 21:40

justbeme- I am sure I have had a few movements too, a few times when I have sat down I have felt a little movment.. a sensation I have only experienced when pg.. I am only 13+2weeks...

Maybe in my head but I am certain it is the babs, mw did say that you can feel them earlier as tyou remember what the sensation is like so you are more aware.

Chooster · 10/01/2007 08:52

Hi all,

Great news about CVS Emmy - You must be thrilled. I know what you mean about finding out you're pregnant all over again - its great isn't it.

Thats a good idea Bodkin about doing pelvic floor exercises when on MN - its the only time I'd remember

Welcome marchbunny and if there are any other lurkers then come say hello! I must have another look at the stats thread and see who is there.

Twoplusone - you still amaze me with the amount you do - its a real inspiration to use all!! Great news that you'll be getting a little time to yourself.

For me things are pretty good. Got another scan this afternoon which I'm looking forward to. Speak soon

Well done Typhoonsmum!

After an upset like that you can get away with doing bugger all for a few days, it's a line that's worked for me, am planning to milk "twinshock" for as long as possible!

Hope everyone is ok this morning, am trying to peel self off pc to take dd2 and a baby I'm borrowing for a mate to playgroup- wish me luck!

twoplusone · 10/01/2007 09:30

JenumGeranium · 10/01/2007 09:39

Hi all!

Can I join in this thread please? I am nearly
12 weeks pg and due the end of July.

My name is Jenny and I am 35 from West London. I have 2 boys already aged 7 and 4.

I have just about gotten over the sickness, but now I am having really bad migraines - off to see the GP in a mo! Can they sign you off for that do you know? I can not face going into work.

Thanks! I look forward to sharing stories with you all soon!

Jenny xx

twoplusone · 10/01/2007 09:57

Hi Jenny and welcome.. course you can join...

As you can see we are a chatty lot. Good luck at the GP ..look forward to chatting with you over the coming months....

typhoonsmum · 10/01/2007 10:30

Hi Jenny. There seems to be a few Jenny's on here. I presume Jennstar is called Jenny to. My name is Jenni too.

Feel absolutely drained today. MIL even asked me if I was still taking the iron tablet I was given in August (Hb dropped from 14 - 7 and needed a transfusion- since then everyone is convinced I'm anaemic) as I looked pale. I've dug them out of the medicine cabinet and hope they perk me up a bit.

Hope everyone is ok today. The discharge seems to have stopped but just as I was about to stop the knicker watch I'm right back on it again.

JenumGeranium · 10/01/2007 10:42

Hi!

Thanks!

Just got back from the GP's and he has signed me off till next Wednesday (I have holiday starting then anyway for another 8 days!)I am so relieved - I think work was beginning to think I was skiving! The GP said I need to rest! That'll do for me!

Right I am off to try one of those cold patches now and take my next dose of paracetamol!

Have a good day everyone!

Myfairone · 10/01/2007 11:20

Morning all,

What a 24 hours I have had! Got myself into a real state yesterday after hearing some very sad news about a work colleague. After a sleepless night I have decided to go for a private nuchal scan and have booked in for Tuesday (my NHS one is Thursday). I figure I will get the results immediately and it will put my mind at rest. Feel much better now I have Tuesday to look forward to!
Also pleased to report that my MS is just starting to subside. Its kind of lingering in the background but not as bad as before!

Twoplusone ? Sounds like a nice idea for DS to go to a crèche. I am sure he will enjoy the interaction, plus it gives you a break?Smiling at your ?rounding tummy?! We are getting there arnt we!? Yooohoooo!

Typhoonsmum ? how you feeling today? I hope that the stress of yesterday hasn?t taken too much of a toll on you and that you managed to sleep last night.

MissusC ? funny you should mention banana?s?.I think I am craving them mashed! I just got a really weird look from a colleague because I was spooning my banana out of its skin and putting it on oat cakes! Making my own mouth water thinking about it!

Emmyb ? I am so happy for you! What a relief that must be for you, congratulations. Go on a spending spree now and treat yourself to some really comfortable clothing!

Twoplusone ? Did you really post that you were about to go and sit down? Did you really say that!? Puh! I see you are getting lazy now! lol?You never cease to amaze me! I have lots of respect for you! How long till DH is home now?

Justbeme ? How exciting! I cannot wait to feel my baby move, it makes it so real doesn?t it!

Bodkin ? What am I supposed to be doing? I am sure I am moving too much in my seat! The guy sitting opposite me must think I have ants in my pants!

Chooster ? Good luck with your scan this afternoon.

Jenumgeranium ? Welcome to the thread and very sorry to hear about your migranes. Being pregnant isn?t easy is it!? Did you get these with your last 2 prenancy?s?
Hope you feel better soon and looking forward to chatting with you?just read you got signed off! Take full advantage of it and rest up. Feel better.

Typhoonsmum ? Im sorry you feel drained today. Will you have the opportunity to put your feet up? Maybe just take it easy for a few days. And Im laughing out loud at your knicker watch comment?.I?m nervous today because I couldn?t find white knickers so had to go with black!

I have just remembered I have a meeting about my work pension?I have completely forgotten to bring in my paperwork and have no idea what I am going to discuss with the guy?.who was it that mentioned baby brain? I cant remember that either! Lol?.

Have a great day everyone. Big hugs

twoplusone · 10/01/2007 11:59

Still feeling really tired but also looking forward to making up for the last few months with no babydancing......... Its funny isnt it in my first pg the thought of even kissing never mind sex repulsed me... with DS i either didnt want want it or wanted it all the time.. this one I am the same... probably if he was here I wouldnt want it.. prob wont when he gets back..that will please him... .. Just so so so excited... I feel like a child opening her advent calander counting down for xmas...
I am going to try and see if ds will have a nap...... I may be hoping to much there..

Welcome Jenny! Look forward to hearing more from you but sorry you've got migraines - thats rotten for you...

Myfairone - I had to laugh at your PG brain... I've got major PG brain and topped it all this morning with taking DH's keys to work (as well as my own which were in my handbag). He called me at 9.30 running late for work and with DS yet to be dropped at nursery - he had to get a taxi in the end - Eeeeekkkkk, there's going to be trouble later. Although we are off to our next scan this afternoon so hopefully that will mellow him.

marchbunny · 10/01/2007 13:19

Hi All

Emmyb - So glad your results were good, it must be lovely to move on.

Chooster - Hope the scan goes well this afternoon.

DewMeadow - Pregnancy brain is terrible. Went out to buy some birthday cards the other day and came back with two for the same person!! And can't seem to make any decisions - that really is hard work.

Jenumgeranium - Welcome, I am new on here too! Glad the doc signed you off, migraines are awful.

Having a good day today, just managed a M&S BLT sandwich for my lunch, now for some chocolate!

Myfairone · 10/01/2007 13:20

Chooster -Men! honestly, fancy leaving his keys where you could possibly pick them up! lol....Glad to hear I not the only one doing strange things!
Good luck with your scan this afternoon. Let us know how it goes.

Firststar - It was so funny,he actually asked me if I needed him and I was so embarrassed. I cleared my throat and made some excuse about someone having messed with my chair! I am sure he believe me!

Twoplusone - Thank you for the kind words. It just hit me really hard and I felt so bad for her it sent me in a spin.

I am smiling at your baby dancing comment! My DH is the one that is worried and keeps asking me if I am okay. Its a real passion killer when you have to keep stopping to say 'well I feel kind of sick and my boobs are sore, but carry on darling'! bwaaaaa!

Have had numerous people ask if I am okay today so took a look at myself in the mirror and its not looking good! So, I have booked a hair appointment for this afternoon and have decided to dissapear and go and make myself feel better! That said, its not my normal hairdresser so I just hope it doesnt go horribly wrong!

Big hugs to all.

Myfairone · 10/01/2007 13:22

Marchbunny - Glad you are having a good day! And thanks for telling me that you are about to have chocolate...I have been resisting all morning and now you've put it back in my head again! damn it!

Okay, back soon everyone, just off to the sweetie shop!

marchbunny · 10/01/2007 13:47

Chocolate is really important - have to keep those blood sugar levels up!! Well that is my excuse anyway.

Is anyone else suffering with insomnia? I manage to get to sleep ok, but wake up needing a wee (obviously) and then only seem to be dozing for the rest of the night. Really bl*y annoying, it's not as if I am not tired!!! I do remember this from last pregnancies but I am sure it did not happen til later on, when a bit more uncomfortable etc etc. xxxx

pulapula · 10/01/2007 14:03

Hi Marchbunny - yes, I am suffering from insomnia too. I am trying to limit my drinks intake in the evening in the hope that I won't wake up needing a wee, as that is when I have difficulty getting back to sleep.

The first night I limited my drinks (last drink at 7.30), I slept solidly and it was great. I have slept through a few times since, but as I get thirsty in the evening, I have been succumbing to more drinks.

I might have to start being strict again, as its better to get a good nights sleep than have an extra cup of tea (probably)!

Marchbunny - Happened to walk past the new chocolate shop near my work and they were giving away samples....great for the sugar levels...yes thats a great excuse!!!!

And YES, YES, YES to the insomnia question. Its driving me insane!!!! Its not helped by the fact that I seem to be hooked on lemonade right now which of course goes straight through you! I tried limiting my drinks but wake up thirsty!

I wake up at 3am on the dot and I have no idea why and no way of dropping back off! Maybe I should go and get a part time job from 3 - 6 and then go to my proper job! lol....

Firststar - Thank you for attaching the link. And now I am rather embarrassed as it does not mention having to pull weird faces or bouncing up and down in your chair! I was clearly doing them wrong!

Getting my hair done in half an hour. Still not thought of a good excuse to leave...may have to sneak out the back door and pretend I'm visiting a client...
