Oh my goodness. I feel amazing this morning. I slept 8 hours solid. Dd didn't wake me, the gale didn't wake me, the thought of work tomorrow didn't wake me, my bladder didn't wake me....I woke up out of a really deep satisfying sleep NATURALLY!

So far this morning I have changed the bedding, washed my pillows (read recently you are meant to do it every 6 months and lets say I haven't) emptied the drier and put everything away. Have some soup cooking for lunch today with enough for the rest of the week, put away a supermarket shop that got delivered first thing, got dd to drink formula milk cold from the fridge from a cup not bottle (she is one next week), used those black head removing strips on my nose and oh my goodness think they are addictive...disgusting but addictive, flossed my teeth (I never have time to do that) used a foot scrub and moisturiser on my feet and feel generally OK!

Firststar- You understand I can't say you can use it if it says you can't on the packet, because for obvious reasons medicines aren't tested on pregnant humans, and if it isn't licensed for use in pregnancy a pharmacist can't sell it. But if a doctor were to prescribe it (the same thing) I would obviously warn the mother about it being an unlicensed use, but qualify it with the information that very little is absorbed into the blood stream when used topically. When taken orally (tablets much higher dose) the manufacturers advise that it is not known to be harmful but should be avoided unless potential benefit outweighs risk.

If you want to be absolutely sure of no problems then don't use it. The alternatives are Cymex cream and Blistex cold sore cream (formerly known as Blisteze). These take the pain away, moisturise, but don't actually treat the virus. There is also the new product from compeed, which is a little plaster you stick over the coldsore and make it look better and help it to heal quicker. These are new and have no active ingredient in so will be safe, however I haven't seen one in action and not had any feedback about them yet so don't know how effective they are yet.

Sorry this was such a long post. Hope this helps.

Jennster · 09/01/2007 11:41

That took so long to write there were loads of messages inbetween. Typhoonsmum, hopw everything goes ok for you.

Chooster · 09/01/2007 12:42

Hi all - I have been reading and keeping up with the thread but its been taking so long that I run out of time to post! Its great being with such a chatty bunch.

typhoonsmum - Fingers crossed for you this afternoon - at least you can get the scan adn I'm sure it will allay your fears. Let us know how you get on.

LynneC - It is an interesting debate about finding out the sex and I did really enjoy wondering if DS was a DS or a DD until that last push. But having said that we are going to ask to find out this time, mainly because if I know then I can prepare my DS a bit better by getting him used to a brother or a sister (he's 2yrs 9 months). Also, my little one is going to be scanned quite a bit (I'll have had 5 scans by the middle of Feb) so hopefully if I keep my eyes peeled I'll be able to tell myself

Myfairone - I'm not sure what the deadline is but you are under no pressure to tell your employer just yet. I haven't told my boss mainly because he's not very approachable and I only started here in April 2006, so will only have been here just over a year before I'm off on leave. Would anyone else feel bad about that or is it just me?

Congratulations BreadandRoses on your news!! Thats great and you must be thrilled! Its good to have a twin pregnancy amongst us

Good luck Cazzybabs!! I'm sure you'll be announing a pregnancy very soon.

3flights - Don't worry too much about not feeling that excited. I think when you have a potential problem you concentrate so much on that and then when the issue goes away, it can take a while to get used to that. There's nothing wrong with you at all.

As for me things are looking up. MS has all but gone, except for a couple of dodgy hours before I get to bed. I'm still totally knackered though but I think that may also be due to being back at work after a nice break. I'm at that awkward stage where my clothes are getting really tight and uncomfortable but my mat clothes are too big... I've just bought some new ones from the Blooming Marverllous website where we get 10% off. They've got a sale on and some bits are reduced to £9.99.

Anyway am off now - need to prep for my 1pm meeting.

Has anyone heard from Kyte??

Just got back from the scan. Everything is fine. Small area of bleed is NOWHERE near the placenta or Baby. Heartbeat fine, fingers, toes and even a diaphragm (and maybe a sex of boy bits but we can't be positive at 11 weeks.) She said not to say anything to anyone about the boy thing as she may be wrong but you lot don't count do you really.

abgirl · 09/01/2007 13:52

Oh congrats typhoonsmum, have been keeping my fingers crossed for you. Make sure you take things easy from now on...

Great news Typhoonsmum - I can't remember whether you already have a DD or a DS?

Abgirl - Firststar's reply remonded me of your post. I feel exactly the same as you as my DS seemed to develop and gain confidence in the 2 weeks over xmas that he was with me and DH solidly. but as Firststar has said you'll be with him a lot more for most of this year - Do you work full time?

marchbunny · 09/01/2007 14:36

Hello everyone

Feel like I know you all already as have been keeping up with this thread since it started, think it's about time I finally joined in!

Due date for dc3 is 15 July, already have ds who is 7 and dd who is 3, had 2 early m/cs in between. I had my 12 week scan just before New Year and all was well with the little one.

Now for the moaning, have been suffering with nausea and sickness since about six weeks and now at 13 + weeks I was hoping it would get better, but oh no it is getting worse which is exactly what happened when I was pregnant with dd ! Am getting really fed up with eating polos and dry crackers (not together obviously) and not wanting my dinner!!!

Can not face maternity clothes yet (will be fed up with them by the end), so bought pair of jeans and combats in the next size up (only cheapos from Peacocks), but it is quite alarming at how quickly tummy is expanding. Enough waffling on - hope everyone is having a good/non sicky day!

Hello Marchbunny and welcome to this v friendly and chatty board. Hope your MS settles down soon, I have been much better in the last week.

Chooster - I do normally work full time and DH is a SAHD, he does 11 hours a week part time at his old firm - 1 evening when I look after DS and 1 morning when DS goes to nursery, which he absolutely loves. We basically ended up like this for economic reasons, in an ideal world I would have gone part time but it just wasn't going to happen. We always wanted one of us to be at home full time with our dc and really everything's worked out v well, I think we probably have a much more equal divide of home tasks than most couples as I've been there and worn the t-shirt and know how hard it can be looking after a baby/toddler all day. DH does a grand job with DS and takes him along to all the baby/toddler groups without too much angst, refuses to sit around with coffees and gossip though, prefers to do activity groups iykyim.

Firststar - am really pleased with ds and how he came on, think the reason I was sad was that when he was born he arrived v suddenly and I ended up starting maternity leave on the same day, guess I am worried about the same thing happening again (which is a real possibility) and I won't have a lot of time for DS on his own any more as I'll have to devote lots of time to his baby brother or sister. Now feeling better as DH reminded me that babies do sleep a lot so should still have plenty of time for DS (even if I am exhausted!!!).

twoplusone · 09/01/2007 16:09

Gad eveything is ok typhoonsmum..

we are a chatty lot arent we.

I have put the paper work in today for DS to start creche. I thought i would enjoy time with him at home just me and him before the db comes but I need him in creche.... I need a break.. (he went to creche in Cyprus for 2hrs every morning) ..
I am putting him in for 3seessions a week from 9till 12.15.. it will also help prepare him FS1 which he starts in september..

Still get ms now and again.... friend told me today I have a definatly come out as tummy is rounding nicely and lifting.. need to go ds is at the top of the stairs shouting for me......

typhoonsmum · 09/01/2007 16:38

I feel so tired today. Not sure whether it has anything to do with the events of today or whether I just can't be arsed.
Had allsorts planned for today. I've done absolutely nothing. Need to go to the shop and get washing powder and cat food but can't muster the energy to get out the house. Only have my dress uniform left and then nothing. Need to get the tunics clean. Not in a dress wearing mode.

Welcome marchbunny - hope you can get a word in edgeways!! Am so lucky as haven't had serious MS - just a bit queasy to start off with, so can't empathise with you there I'm afraid (I know... I'm a lucky cow!). That said I ate so many bananas, peanut butter and muesli when I was first pregnant it was mad - and I can't even bear the thought of them at all any more. My DH thinks I'm mad, but there we go!!

So glad everything is well with you typhoonsmum - don't worry about feeling like you can't be arsed... some days are just like that aren't they? You have all sorts of plans and tasks and then the sleep monster takes over your brain and you find yourself doing nothing. There's no harm in it - you just have to accept you'll have a hungry and grumpy cat, that's all!!

firststar I'm giggling about your elastic band/hairband dilemma... I know what you mean though - I got so fed up with having to have the top button undone, cos whilst it feels a whole lot better on the tummy, it's a pain when your trousers fall down isn't it??!!

lynnec · 09/01/2007 18:32

Hi ladies!
Giulia glad to hear all is well with you and the move.

Earlyriser as soon as i read your story i immediatly started pelvic floors

Hi All

Just wanted to send a message to all the lurkers - quite a few mums2be have added their details to our July stats thread but not posted here. Please don't worry that some of us have been gasbagging on here for ages, it would be great to get to know you and we're all here to help each other, so please introduce yourselves properly!!

I have added your details on to our weekly stats update...

Abgirl

littlepiggie · 09/01/2007 19:08

sorry not posted about scan. Changed date by about 2 1/2 weeks. Spoke to midwife, even though last af was 5th oct, as still bf i did not ov untill a few weeks later, so new date 31st July. Thought i was doing well and not putting on a lot of weight.

I am worn out, i am still full of a cold, 2 weeks now, ds is teething, also seems snotty, and also has v+d, and dh has just phoned me to say he does not feel to good (he already has a chef off with v+d, so feel that he may have picked something from # before he showed sighns.

Cold sore just about gone.

My cat and dog are on their bed curled up exacty the same way, very cute.

marchbunny · 09/01/2007 19:11

I have been a good girl and added my stats to the July thread, hope everything is present and correct.

Thanks for all the lovely 'welcomes', it is really great to be able to have a little chat whenever you feel like it.

Have to say am really of the lucky few who don't suffer with MS, but pleased that we don't all have to put up with it!!

Never really felt a 'blooming' stage with either of my other pregnancies, really hoping for third time lucky.

emmyb · 09/01/2007 19:33

Hi everyone,
Well what a week, Had CVS last Tues and received my primary results today ALL CLEAR for the four most common disorders incl DS. I am so happy I feel like Ive just found out Im preg all over again.

I can now go and buy new clothes to fit and new bras. Ive been putting it all on hold.

As a bonus the MS seems to be going and the blooming stage is starting or so my DH tells me, but hes always had a thing for pregnant ladies!!

Breadandroses congratulations on your news its fab.

I was going to find out the sex when I got these results, the hospital rang Dh and he was so over the moon he forgot to ask. But after reading some of your thoughts I might wait for a surprise, trouble is Im a nosey cow that likes to know everything!

Abgirl my new due date is the 6th July I think thats the same as you isnt it?

dewmeadow · 09/01/2007 19:54

Missus - we dont have to pay here, but if we did it definitely is money well spent. CANt wait until Friday!

I would like to be answer everyone really personally but I can never remember what has been said, apart from 1 or 2 (if Im lucky). HAs no one else got a preghead, ie no memory! You knwo the way they say your brain shrinks - I reckon the more babies you have the more it shrinks which means my head must be visibly smaller by now!

Typhoon - glad everything looked great on the scan. It must have been such a relief and so exciting to see him/her wriggling about.

O crying babe. must go....

twoplusone · 09/01/2007 20:02

welcome to the newbies..what a busy thread we are.. Oct obviously a popular month for babydancing

emmy- fantastic news on your results so happy for you.

I have just sorted out all my "normal clothes" and put them in the cellar as cant wear them, have kept tracksuits and long t shirts out only.. even all pr preg underwear has gone downstairs..

I didnt find out with DD what I was having and it was a lovely suprise.... but I was adminant I was having a girl.. with DS I found out but still didnt truly believe I was having a boy until I had him, even though on the scan you couldnt miss his parts they didnt even have to tell me..

I am going to find out, so that we can get things sorted, re clothes etc, but I am very impatient, I want things done now and I want to know things now..

Have had abusy night, cleaned all three bedrooms, sorted out clothes washed both bathrooms floors kitchen floor, and two flights of stairs, hoovered all rooms also.. and seen to the kids..feel better now everything is done and I can sit and relax..
Was going to go to mums and tots tommorrow but I am waiting for someone to fix my back door as to shut it you have to practically lift it back onto its hinges, (and it isnt that light!!) but have to keep opening it for the dog.. my shower holding thing is falling of the wall to so they are coming to fix that hopefully tommorrow to.. If they dont come and do the door tommorrow i will use the pg to get them out sooner..

Going to go and chill on the sofa now...

twoplusone · 09/01/2007 20:03

i do go on dont I!!!!!

justbeme · 09/01/2007 21:17

Im 15 +4 today - and I've been experiencing LOADS of movement! The type where if you watch your skin on your tummy - sometimes, just sometimes you can actually see it move slightly. I have to say though it is a weird feeling - going to sit down 2night and see if my partner can see it!
Seems quite early to get this feeling - There's no way they could have missed another baby on my 10 week scan is there ?!!
