Don't think you'll be alone N&T&B.
I'm planning on enjoying to the full all the British delicacies I miss out on the rest of the year, not to mention the xmas ones.
Reckon membership of one club would justify membership of the other.
Besides, it sounds like you can afford to munch all you like, you need to get your bum back

NattyandThomasandBumpandSanta · 18/12/2006 08:59

you'd be surprised how much good two big tins of quality street and celebrations can do over a weekend

N&T&B, you have my sympathies as my DD has the same, threw up on saturday night, fever coming and going, and diarhea (can't spell it either, sure there's an o in there somewhere) since. She wasn't interested in eating this morning so have kept her home from nursery. DH has the same thing and I have a cold.
Did you sort your headaches out?

Seansgirl · 18/12/2006 09:40

Hi all.

m/s back with a vengenance again the past few days. Doesnt seem to matter wether I eat or dont eat so am sticking with eating as missing out on the wine!

This week all gone to pot as DD has come down with chicken pox and have had to cancel all her social activities apart from one. Thankfully (as getting stir crazy staying in) both DDs mates have had the pox although one has a little sis who hasnt but my friend has said as long as scabs have come she is ok with it! Hoorah! Scabs look like they are starting so could be saved! Am planning to take her out to feed the ducks this morning with full disguise so get no dagger looks from other parents...

I am glad tho that had immunity tested two weeks ago as suspected could get as going round preschool at mo.

lildrummerKel · 18/12/2006 12:46

Afternoon ladies & bumps!!

Nat, can I join your anti-exercise club?!? It's all I can do to get out of bed in the morning and make sure LO gets his meals in!! Seriously it's been like I've had a head full of rocks lately, dunno why all the headaches grrrrr

Off to watch Loose Women. And make the most of DS's nap

MagicGenie · 18/12/2006 13:29

Hi All

Sorry to gloat but I feel like I'm coming out of the other side of the horrible first-trimester bit.

This weekend, didn't feel as though I needed to go back to bed and caught up on loads of housework; my house has become a pit lately.

Bosoms are also less sore - thank goodness.

Daisybump · 18/12/2006 13:49

Natty...I'll be joining the exercise club, but only after I've joined you for a while on the chocolate and cake Christmas glutton club for a couple of weeks .
MS back with a vengeance this morning and managed to chuck up my breakfast, which was nice. Think it had a lot to do with shopping till 10 on Friday night, then shopping again all Saturday morning and then out for a christmas party on Saturday night as well as the weekly food shop and making buns for DS to take to school yesterday, and wrapping up all the pressies. It's the busiest weekend I've had since getting pg and guess it just took it's toll. That and I had to make tuna fish sarnies for DS's packed lunch [bleargh)
Christmas party was wierd as I was the only sober person in the room. DH so drunk that he can't remember leaving or getting home, but at least he managed to put himself to bed.
Feeling a bit more human now I've had lunch, but just want to crawl under the duvet and sleep for a week. Roll on Friday...I'm off until 03 January.

And finally, have definately felt the baby moving...once on Saturday night and again last night. DH excited as I only saw him every third weekend when pg with DS so he missed most of it, but it's too faint for it to be felt on the outside. Making it all seem a bit more real now...yipee!

NattyandThomasandBumpandSanta · 18/12/2006 19:14

headaches seem to have faded a bit, thanks for asking..

Hey congratulations N&T&B!
I got married pg too. Can't help you with the dress I'm afraid, mine was black! (unless you're a wierdo like me of course)

Coriander73 · 18/12/2006 20:50

Glad to hear from you Trace! Keep us posted...don't dissapear for so long next time

bumperlicious · 18/12/2006 20:51

Hi all
Feeling really crap again today too. Morning sickness suddenly overcame me again this morning, soon soothed by a sausage bap and 17 biscuits! Feel soooo tired too, got a cracking headaching which isn't helping the sickness.
NT&B, I have a brand new wedding dress that you may be interested in. I bought two (weddings also make you crazy!), one I imported from the states, it's by Bonny and has sparkly straps in a v shape at the neck then just drops from there, kind of empire line. It's brand new and hasn't even been altered. I can find picture online as it is from last season, but I have a couple of pictures of me in it which I can email you.
If not, good luck finding something!

Seansgirl · 19/12/2006 09:30

Bumperlious,

That dress sounds gorgeous ...wish I was getting married!

Never suffered headaches at all but hit by a real throbber yesterday that lasted all afternoon til I gave into 1 paracetomol!

bumperlicious · 19/12/2006 11:08

Seansgirl my midwife said don't bother with just one paracetamol, if you are going to take it take the full dose. I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible, but woken up with my headache still. Taken today off work and slept till 10.30, I'm just sooo tired! Please let things get better after Christmas!

Daisybump · 19/12/2006 14:06

NT&B...don't think I can help with the wedding dress as mine, although a bigger size, has a fitted bodice so might be a tad uncomfortable. I bought it off E-bay and only paid £75 and it was like new. The girl I bought it from had had a beach wedding and had changed immediately after the ceremony. You could tryr your luck there.

Congratulations by the way

Seansgirl · 19/12/2006 15:52

Bump,
Heres hoping that your headaches go, thankfully I've only had that one. Hopefully a one off!

I must admit I would have taken 2 last night but DH & I had slightly heated debate re paracetomol as on the box it says 500mg and DH was saying that it was a strong version and a regular would be 200-250mg and therefore I should only take 1. DH is always far cautious (annoyingly so) than me!

lildrummerKel · 19/12/2006 16:00

Hey ladies. Just to put your mind at ease, I've been told by my doctor/s that Paracetemol's molecules are too big to pass through the placenta. So there's really absolutely no harm in taking it as directed. It's the one medicine that's "safe" actually, so make the most of it!!!

doggus · 19/12/2006 16:28

Hello all. To reassure any of you with fears of paracetamol, I am on strong painkillers, with codeine in (I have fibromyalgia). I saw the obstetrician today for my nuchal and as I am feeling awful he told me to add in 8 paracetamol a day to the codeine tablets. As regards the codeine, I have to cut down nearer term, as the worst case scenarion is the bub gets withdrawal symptoms. But, he said, codeine won't cause birth defects and paracetamol is completely safe.

My nuchal was 1.3mm, well within the range, we will hear our risk factor on Friday once the bloods rsults come in. We got a new due date of 28th June, and the baby is now over 6cm, whopping!

sputnik · 19/12/2006 17:36

So, sounds like it's bring on the blooming headaches for all then. Does anyone not have a headache?
I remember my last pg, I seemed to have a continuous headache that lasted about 3 weeks. I didn't take anything then but I've already taken some paracetamol a few times this time and it's reassuring to know that it's totally ok.
Had a frustrating day and can't wait for thursday when I am OFF OFF OFF.

TALLULAHBELLE · 19/12/2006 17:54

Hey,
I don't have a headache - should I be worried??? Still puking tho'.

Got 2nd lot of blood tests taken today, checking for spina bifida risk. M/w told me its far more common in Celtic races - wierd!

Also confirmed that no 20 week scan in Glasgow area. 12 week daing scan and that's it. Is everyone else getting 20 week scan in their areas? NHS lottery I guess.

doggus · 19/12/2006 18:12

Hi tallulah. After my nuchal today (12w 5d), I was told that my next scan was 20 weeks, on the NHS. This is in Dorset btw.

Is spina bifida the one that folic acid helps to prevent? Fascinating that it should be more common in Celtic race. The obst. said today at the 20 week scan they check the spine formation carefully.

Seansgirl · 19/12/2006 18:21

12 week and 20 week scan on NHS here (Worcestershire), but MW told me to conceal that I'd paid for a private scan encase they deemed it uneccessary to do my 12 week scan. Tho clinic said they couldnt refuse me.

annobal · 19/12/2006 20:33

Hi All, back from the in-laws pre-Christmas Christmas - I survived...just!

N&T&B congratulations!

Definitely count me in for a New Year post-MS pre-baby motivational fitness club (that is not a suggestion for a name btw).

Anyone interested in Gentle Birth Method, there is a web site (think it's gentlebirthmethod.com).

Has anyone else heard that folic acid can help prevent pre-eclampsia if taken throughout whole pregnancy?

NattyandThomasandBumpandSanta · 19/12/2006 20:51
