NT&B...just been updating my stats...gosh aren't you young
By the time you're my age, your two will be all grown up and here I am now (at 37) with a four year old and another on the way.
I must be mad.

Daisybump · 14/12/2006 18:21

Oh, thanks for the advice on clothes. Principles is a fave of mine so I'll def check tham out

annobal · 14/12/2006 18:56

Hi all,
Haven't posted for a while as am totally knackered with pg and looking after DS1 and DS2. I think I'm probably the last one due in June and I'm almost 12 weeks, hence still feeling sick and tired and fed up. I think this is the first year I haven't had the energy to even send Christmas cards. I have been seeing a homeopath which has helped. Sorry, moan over...

I went to my first nativity play yesterday which was really lovely. I got quite emotional about the whole thing! It was soooo sweet.

Sputnik, I did start the gentle birth method thing but then ms kicked in and my whole wheat free / sugar free thing went out the window. I figure I would wait a couple of weeks until I have a bit more energy and not quite so sick all the time then start the special diet thing again as well as the yoga. Are you doing it as well? It did help with DS2, I'm sure.

We're off to Manchester to visit the in-laws tomorrow for a long weekend pre-Christmas Christmas - have a great weekend all.

Seansgirl · 14/12/2006 19:22

Sputnik thanks for the link, all updated!

I like the chocolate theory, guess most of us will have babies that are grinning from ear to ear when they pop out!!

Its lovely to be here with you all sniff.. feeling all emotional better go before I embarass myself....

kittykat77 · 14/12/2006 21:38

HI all, and welcome Seansgirl.

Lildrummer - am fairly chilled about having 2. Partly because my mum is a childminder. Today while I was at work she had 2 babies - both 6 months old (one was DD!), one 2.5 yrs and one 3 yrs. I figure if she can cope with that lot 2 should be a doddle. Guess I am lucky in having a good trainer!

I'm sure things will be tricky at times, but nothing we can't handle. Also plan to get DH very much involved, he has already rearranged his work so he can be home earlier most days to help bath/ feed kids ect.

Have also spoke to afew others with small gaps - they have said it is hard work initially, but as they get older it is great as both interested in same things ect. so there are also good sides to having small gap - not all bad!!! I'm sure we'll muddle thru. Will be good that there are a few of us in the same boat so we can have a moan when it all gets too much.

sputnik · 15/12/2006 11:26

Right, so far we've got Marylou and Doggus signed up for the mutual exercise motivation club (must think of a snappier name) and Daisybump committed to taking up swimming again after xmas. Annobal, I'm hoping you will soon be feeling better and able to give us some tips from the gentle birth method as you've done it once already. Anyone else???

I have been pondering this since yesterday, maybe it would be a good idea to set up a separate thread in the anti-natal section, that way we could involve people from other months, stay focused and not bother others on this thread who would prefer to veg out in peace, thank you very much.

Then it occured to me that perhaps 10 days before xmas might not be the perfect time to lauch something like that as I'm sure we all have lots of other commitments. I for one will be off to my folks for a week soon. So maybe a post-xmas launch date? What do you all think?

doggus · 15/12/2006 14:00

Hi sputnik. A vote for post-Christmas for me. We are off up to Lincolnshire to see my parents for a few days, and my schedule there is packed with gorging, watching telly and kipping. So I will be ready for some exercise in the New Year, definitely.

By the way has anyone lese got the above tummy button, under breasts bulge or is it just me?

Daisybump · 15/12/2006 14:07

Post christmas...definately, I've got too much to do between now and then. But then again, there'll be all that lovely chocolate (yummmmm) to distract me from my cause. DH is under instruction to get me the biggest bar of Galaxy he can find (does anyone know do you get it in those jumbo bars like you do with Dairymilk?, and if so where so I can order a full box...obsessive about Galaxy, not me!) Woe betide him if I don't get any!

What is this gentle birth method...and what about the giving up wheat? I'm coeliac so can't eat the stuff anyway, so may as well do the rest of the thing. I assume there's a book about it?

PS Not liking the new look mumsnet much, it's all looking a bit wee and pokey on my PC.

daisymlaisy · 15/12/2006 14:44

hi, been reading few the messages, and seem we're all having the same problem finding party clothes. Just to say I found a lovely top in whistles the other day, often very pricey, however this particular top was 40 pounds, bit more than I would usually spend, but it is really nice, and as it isn't maternity, will hopefully do me a for quite awhile. Its glittery-perfect for christmas, and really flattering around the bust for all you lucky ones that have now got an ample bosom, and is empire cut, so covers the belly, and is one size. If you are a 10-14 I would say it will fit.

If you have a whistles nearby, definately worth a look.

lildrummerKel · 15/12/2006 15:00

Hello, this format change is definitely giving me a headache... Kudos to all of you inclined to exercise. Me, I'm going to sit down every chance I get cuz once the baby comes, I'll be running around like a madwoman trying to manage my two little ones and then it will def be time to lose the weight. For now I'm trying to put it on!!!

Anyone seen a nice shrug on the high street? Going to the MIL's for xmas and it's always bloody cold over there...

10 days to go!

ChristmasMadwithBump · 15/12/2006 15:05

Hi me again, , hope you all are fine and well, can I ask a question ...........here goes....has the time for you, since you got your BFP till now, has that time gone by fast? MS , DH (HH) keeps saying it wont last forever, just as long has it doesn't feel like forever! , also did any of you get anit-sickness tabs frpm the doctor?
soz for butting in again!
N&T&B how are you?
Babymadxxx

Orchide · 15/12/2006 17:08

Doggus - you are not alone!
I too am developing a lovely additional bulge above my tummy button, have mentally put it down to the baby 'needing' too much chocolate! Am hoping that when a proper 'buby bump' appears this proper will magically disappear forever!!!

Seansgirl · 15/12/2006 17:11

Hi all

Quick update, as I said couldn't wait til 15 weeks to have my 12 week scan so had private one today at MUMS in Solihull. Baby fine and well and measuring spot on for my EDD 29th June! Hoorah!!

Christmasmad, Im sorry but yes the time has dragged for me....but it did last time sorry! MS um for me this time thought it had gone eartlier this week - but back yesterday and today (12 weeks today) Everyone is different I believe for most it starts to go now(ish)

Can ask anyone else on here that already has DD(s)/DS(s) have you told them yet about their new playmate? Have not told DD (3, 4 in april) yet as for fear of unexplaining...... but daily worry she will pick up conversations Im having or will bounce forcibly on my tummy.

I will join in the exercise with going back swimming 2/3 times a week, not promising the amount of lengths though...

Seansgirl · 15/12/2006 17:12

Sorry Doggus, yes that bulge is here too with me! But think it never returned back to normal from DD!!

NattyandThomasandBumpandSanta · 15/12/2006 18:11

im about to be really evil...
i am slimmer now (cept bump) than i was b4..
i know thats totally the wrong way round but what can i say. im actually in smaller maternity jeans than the ones i was wearing in the months b4 my bfp..
im putting it down to the fact i seem to have burnt of the excess baby fat from tom, also that ms was to bad for me to eat alot.
so anyway my bump looks really big because the rest of me looks really small...
DP is mad at me as i have lost my bum, but i am eating plenty of chocolate to put the weight back on.

lildrum i agree with the running around after 2 under 2 should burn of any weight, and i too wont be worrying about exercise. this is the only time in your life that you can eat as much as you please without looking fat, and i intend to enjoy it! esp as this is likly to be my last baby

have another headache, they are really starting to get to me know, may go docs mon.

oh and guess what!

I HAVE MY BOOKING IN APPOINTMENT! faints with shock 13th of JANURARY!! OMG! they are so funny, i will be booking in and having my first bloods at 21 weeks. lol, just as well this isnt my first preg and im not to worried this time round.

well thats about it. love to you all hope you are all doing well.

Fantastic, we'll start the mutual exercise motivation club in the new year. Not talking about marathon training here, by the way, in case anyone's worried.

Doggus I think I've put on nearly all my 3 kgs gain in that area as my skirts still fit fine. I look STOUT is the best way to describe it. Horrible. I'd only just got rid of the fat from round there from my last pg.

N&T&B hope your headaches improve, I had one constantly for the last 2 days, but probably as a result of waking in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Anyone else getting that?

doggus · 15/12/2006 18:46

Stout, sputnik, is an excellent description of how I look. I am glad however that it is not just me looking like Mrs Pepperpot. Natty, I envy you.

I have had a headache for a couple of days too and I have also got a weird insomnia where it is impossible to get to sleep for at least two hours. Then when I am asleep I sleep like the dead and dream crazily.

TALLULAHBELLE · 16/12/2006 16:08

Hi all,
Will join in with the exercise thingy. I just managed back to my yoga class for 1st time since Oct and its finished for Xmas hols til 8 Jan. Hope to start new yoga class in Jan, plus start swimming and maybe some hill walking dep. on weather.Sounds good , hope can force myself to stick to it.

Thought m/s was passing but back to puking in the evenings and still nauseous. And I'm now 15 weeks - will it ever go? This time has passed really slowly for me, ChristmasMWB I've been so sick and tired and DH left the country the day after my BFP and won't be back till end Jan so have been feeling quite sorry for myself. Thank God for Mumsnet to keep me sane.

Work do tonight. Just trying to figure way out of drinking without giving game away. Don't want to tell work colleagues till New Year but sure they'll be very suspicious.

Coriander73 · 16/12/2006 20:50

Hijack...Trace, how are you? I can't find any recent postings from you so was wondering if all well?

Bloody hell, offline for a couple of days and you all start a new thread!
Please can join the get fit motivtional club. Had to give up cycling to work and kung fu (mostly on DH's orders but also coz felt too sick). Like you talullabelle I went back to yoga for the first time now it's finished for Christmas. God I ached afterwards, considering I haven't moved so much in two months! Felt a little ropey afterwards, but hopefully will get better. I'm gonna get so fat though, normally I am pretty fit and a dead healthy eater, but since the ms started have done no exercise and eaten the world! Would like to go swimming, but not a v good swimmer so may take lessons. I'm worried about being unfit when I go into labour . So count me in, but first just let me finsh this mince pie...

sputnik · 17/12/2006 20:39

As usual pretty quiet on here at the weekend. Good to hear from you Trace2, and hope you start feeling better soon, take care of yourself and let us know how you're getting on every so often, even if it's just to say "groan".
I had finally had my 12 week scan yesterday and everything's fine, so now will start telling all and sundry I think.

sputnik · 17/12/2006 20:41

Yay! Two more for the new year mutual fitness motivation club!
