Congrats NT&B! Hope it was a lovely day!
Men are so mean!! Apparently I'm not allowed to buy anything until dp starts and get paid from his new job at the end of next month . Although without their meaness we'd prob all be bankrupt by now (and Cath Kidston and Mamas & Papas would be significantly better off!).

Wow only took 21/2 hrs to catch up on this thread -Trace I am so sorry you are having troubles , crossed fingers everything will be Ok with Chloe. It's frustrating to hear so many different ante/natal maternity services with all of you, some good, some bad ( Marylou, ask your M/W for a heart monitoring, or anything else I'm sure she would not object - and if she does then it is still your right to have it if you want it!).You'd think it would be all the same with a "nationalised" service. Well, I had my 21 week scan last week (DS came to look too and he was as good as gold). All appears to be fine/normal, but as I anticipated the sonographer stuck to her miserable old guns about not telling me what the sex was - as it is policy in our health area. I asked if she could just at least allow the wand to linger over the nether regions area and she said she wouldn't even do that- talk about job's worth attitude , figure she would have taken an objection to having a £20 note slipped in her hand - so didn't try. She said if I wanted to make a complaint I would have to write to the HA. Ah well, makes the name choosing a bit more interesting.

The only time I seem to be able to catch up on MN is when I'm off work, ( DS is ill with cold/stomach virus today) -I have had a lot of time off work lately
( yipee) with scans or mw appointments, but also with my Nan's funeral which was on Monday. A most surreal experience- never been to a family funeral before, I did the eulogy and the whole thing was over in minutes and just one emotional blur. It seems odd to have to say good bye to someone so dear to you in such a quick manner when you have known them all your life...

Good luck all with the last stages of the 2nd trimester and then it's countdown to D day. Time seems to be marching fast and we have longer warmer days to look forward to in preparation for it. Looking forward to next week as for those who also have older children as it's half term in my area - more time off work and outings with child/child's friends in the making to pass the day nicely. Lets hop DS is well enough to go by then. Bye for now.

Wow - I've only been away for a day or 2 and there's loads to catch up on..

K1K2 - so sorry about your Nan. I hope that you are ok and taking a little time for yourself. Hope your LO is better soon.

Lilkel - Happy Birthday for tomorrow - have a great day and may Cath and Ms Bennett be very kind.

N&T&B HUGE congratulations on your wedding - hope all went to plan and you had a great day. Are you honeymooning?

On the subject of double buggies, I have a Phil and Ted's. They are great but not terribly hardy so would recommend getting it from a company with good after sales service - I bought the first from Kiddicare and ended up dealing direct with P&T in NZ. The 2nd (courtesy of Malaysia Airlines) I got from Daisy and Tom, who were fabulous. The 2nd seat is great storage and I end up having my handbag and all sorts of paraphernalia in it. I'm going to be snookered when no 3 comes along . However that will not make me give up my lovely new handbag for a dedicated baby one

PS How many messages do you need before a new thread is started??

sputnik · 07/02/2007 17:41

Hi K1K2, sorry to hear about your Nan. It's true that it seems to be going quickly, but it'll probably feel different by the time we near the end. I remember last time feeling like I'd been pg my entire life.

Happy birthday to Seansgirl and Lilkel, try not overdo things, I just recovered today from my birthday weekend - 2 late nights and friends for lunch on sunday knackered me completely. I have become a total lightweight. Hasn't helped that we've had builders in all week, arriving at 7 in the morning and banging, filling the house with dust and cement, the usual.

Congratulations N&T&B, nice to have you back. Hope your wedding was fab. I got married pg and in february too (last time around that is, only thankful I don't have a wedding to arrange this time too). How was your weather? I got rained on, hailed on and finally snowed on.

annobal · 07/02/2007 19:13

Also happy birthday to Seansgirl and Sputnik

notsolilKel · 07/02/2007 19:17

Annobal,

Thanks everyone for the advance birthday wishes. ! It's so nice to be loved (((HUGS TO EVERYONE)))

Annobal would you then recommend getting the carrier bag for travelling with the P&T? I hear you on the after-sales service. My local baby shop has the (double) P&T for £360 incl raincover which is only 20 quid more than the cheapest internet price I've seen, and they're brilliant with aftersales. Guess it's worth it? Also a major question: my local shop said the new version of P&T is coming out by end of the month. Swankier tyres, diff handlebar, £35 more. What do you think?

Got our 'new' car today (Toyota Verso) and give up our delicious Mini tomorrow Now I really feel like I'm becoming an old fuddy-duddy!!! Sometimes I still believe inside I'm only 23...

Anyone seen a lilac cot bumper anywhere on earth? In search of one...
